  • I find this to be musical inspiration.

  • The way that they complement each other at 00:42 is divine.

  • Sebastien Cloutier, he looks like that retard that makes all the annoying faces with the "best improvisation ever ::smiley face::" video. Damn Dufour > both this guy and... whoever that other guy is combined.

  • @Made4EvilUsed4Good i'll put it simply. the atypical mesh wasn't my favorite largely cause of Sebastian. I think he's a talented guy--nothing unique but definitely a solid guitar player. However, as an acoustic player he still sounds like an electric guitar put on the acoustic. He almost makes it sound damn good too, but I suppose I'm picky, i think i'd rather he stick to electric guitar. that's my 2 cents at least.

  • Dear Antoine, can you please not make a duo with anyone else every again. YOU ARE JUST BAD ASS ALL BY YOURSELF.

  • @nishikigoi808 he's made a duet CD with Tommy Gauthier and it sounds AWSUM!!

  • @nishikigoi808 of course antoine is badass all by himself... so this is DOUBLE BADASS

  • superbe duo, un régal pour l'oreille

  • Maybe I should get a pair of glasses to wear when I play guitar.

  • hmm... not sure how to put this. Cloutier's parts didn't always groove with Dufour's. Now u can still love the song in spite of that but personally I didn't feel this duo really "clicked". SOME parts were spot on-- and were generally ones which Dufour had a little more space :-/

  • @sachary the only reason it sounds like Cloutier took all the space was because he was trying to...this song was made for his new album and he always takes centre stage even in his Electric songs

  • 0.o Wow

  • why my volume can be harder and louder

  • I think it's wonderful how the solo ends at 3:08 with an "Asturias-ish" orgasm, then calms down, like two lovers in their bed after having sweet sex...

  • This reminds me of my childhood.

  • PAJAMA PANTS!

  • Ahh 240p we meet again

  • Being the best guitarists in the world entitles you to make Bill and Ted faces and still be serious.

  • 4:16 We're pretty cool.

  • @SenorPantaloons I thought they were like "...that's got to get us laid"

  • I wish they would just make out for 4 minutes.

  • I really like this music, but Sebastien Cloutier looks somehow weird and nerdy...

  • @Comment0815 I think he looks kinda like Anthony Kiedis, which is awesome :#

  • Sebastien, thank you for getting rolling out of bed, picking up your guitar, and playing this.

  • I can see michael manring and that ridiculous bulbous nose of his making this super hot... Fretless bass errbody!

  • @KrummyBear oh my god i would lose my mind. putting manring on anything makes it immediately nasty.

  • :20 - :40, My god thats tasty.

  • Nice to see that the Stonebridge is still getting fantastic use! Roger

  • @StonebridgeGuitars

    Thanks Roger !!

  • @1:41 The only downside to being God is having nasty ass fingernails lol.

  • @snoopie0420 Also, nice channel, is it all videos about people being hit in the testicles? Nice skill. Upload me something "skillful". And if you are to insult me based on my language skills try having less sub-par grammar in your response?

  • @snoopie0420 If you are going to act like a 4 year old I don't think we really have a discusion here. I have been playing for 3.5 years. check my channel. If you could cover "What Do" by me (I'll admit the recording is horrid, still) then you can insult my skills, but I don't think you could, as its not a blues piece. I believe you are seeing a guitar played wonderfully by someone much more skilled than you in this video and are threatened by it or something.

  • @snoopie0420 Its not about how technically good a player is, its about expression of self. I believe percussion adds a lot to music that is only guitar, which could otherwise become bland and stagnant. If his music makes you feel something, the musician is doing something right, that is all that should matter really, not playing the instrument "right".

  • @kenvikenvi45 i was talking about skill levels idiot there are several diferent ways to play instruments thus different genres of music but even tho there are different styles there are still people that are far greater in their styles then others in when the others are doing their styles if you dont understande language dont respond to me

  • @snoopie0420 You have to be kidding me, Antoine is like the master Yoda of this entire label, he can keep up with anyone.

  • @kenvikenvi45 thank you that's exatcly what i was trying to say im totally agree whit you exposings my ideas in english is still hard for me xD

  • The tabs! or music!

  • Where can I buy this song!?

  • beginning is very similar to Opeth - Hessian Peel

  • @snoopie0402 antoine much better than sebastien. Watch his other videos and see. "Drumming" the guitar is not what he's doing. It's a style of tapping that's been about for decades. He can play the finger style you think of brilliantlly. He just doesn't like to do that as much

  • WOW!!! Amazing work! truly an inspiration

  • Le Québec est bourré de talent. On a plus qu'à le faire connaître maintenant.

    Vous êtes incroyables les gars.

  • can't decide if i want to quit playing forever or lock my self away for the next 10 years untill i can play like either one of them!!!!!!!!! simply amazing

  • can't decide if i want to quite playing forever or lock my self away for the next 10 years untill i can play like that!!!!! simply amazing!!!!!!!

  • possibly the best acoutic guitar duet i have ever heard

  • @joohj1187 You should check out Hunter Van Larkins. They are my favourite duet.

  • I love the way they look at each other at the end hahaha.

  • very interesting mesh of style here. atypical, but seems to work. it's growing on me. btw, anyone else notice that when Sebastien plays electric he doesn't wear glasses and has a 'lil soul patch, but on acoustic he's clean shaven with glasses. makes him look sophisticated, haha.

  • How can Justin Bieber appear on related videos??...

  • ... at 1:52 Antoine's guitar makes the slapping noise before he slaps it...

  • did they make this song?

  • okay so. They both have french names, they both need glasses, and they're both incredibly amazing at guitar. Are they related somehow?

    They must be cousins.

  • the worst part was at 4:18..

  • anyone else noticed the strange illusion occurring at 2:50 - 2:53 at Dufour's left hand? Just pause the screen and check it out.. it seems to be hollow! sorry for this nonsense but I want to know if other people see this

  • @wehavebecome1 I see it. Those damn shadows!

  • @wehavebecome1 i didnt see it lol :)

  • Thanks to Antoine, whom I was already familiar with, I discovered another great artist. Cheers!

I think the level of synergy is very high here, by the way.

  • its jokes when cloutier gets technical and dufour cant keep up so he resorts to tapping

  • @snoopie0420 woah woah woah, i dont think antoine dufour has any trouble keeping up....

  • @WackoJacko1193 ok u r intitled to your own opinion but to me it looks like he gets lost a few times

  • @snoopie0420

This is not an improvised piece. They both recorded it for Sebastien's CD and must've practiced numerous times. Why would Antoine get lost?

  • @WickedCuba dude u gotta relax im just stating my opinion cool you got your own but to me it looks like he gets lost so stop messaging me cause i really dont wanna argue with another kid like urself

  • @snoopie0420

I agreed with you, but now I finally hear what they are doing. Dufour's basically playing a complicated syncopated rhythm where his beat pattern and Cloutier's beat pattern don't sound like they match up at that instant. I've accepted when listening to this style of music that just because something sounds strange to my non-savant ears, that doesn't mean that something is mathematically or musically wrong. It could just mean that it's so complicated I can't hear the pattern.

  • @haniblectre cool i just think someone tapping on a guitar cant keep up with someone that is hitting scales and notes a guitar is for struming not drumming if you wanna be a drummer get a set of drums

  • @snoopie0420 Or people can just play however they want. Thats what music is. Personal expression.

  • @TheDJNaylor your comment has no meaning im argueing that one of them is better then thge other fool

  • @snoopie0420 Actually it does. You said some stupid shit about wanting to drum and getting a drumset. Not doing it on a guitar. So me saying people will play however they want makes perfect sense. Maybe you're just the fool, you can't even spell "the" correctly.

  • @TheDJNaylor you are a douche and coming on talking shti about people disliking style a guitar is played with scales and notes note by beating it you can put that in too im not argueing that but im saying some1 that drums on a guitar is less skilled on the guitar then some1 that plays scales and you are trying to call me a fool over a typo if you dont know what a typo is then who si really foolish get a life dildo

  • @TheDJNaylor if you play a guitar with just scales you are playing a guitar if you play a guitar with just drumming it you are not playing the guitar you turned it into a bongo so thats why im saying a guitar is not a drum .

  • @snoopie0420 Well that may be true. If you had paid attention to what was on our screen instead of passing judgement on a fantastic player you would see he incorporates it into his play. Making his style of music, which some may dislike and some may love. Bringing me back to my main point. Personal expression. How the individual wants to put their creativity to work.

  • @snoopie0420 IM not agree whit you,,,by the way sorry my english sucks im french...but we're talikng about vreating music, whatever you do whit your guitar a beat a song the important is that what you're creating is a reflection of you....what you feel and what you are...and sometimes it touch others peoples, that's the music. I'm not sure if it as a sens but in french it's sound good xD at least in my head

  • @Marcus7218 im not doubting that it is music im just sayin percussion is not guitaring percussion is drumming which means your are straying from the point of playing a stringed instrument therefore someone who uses chords and tabs to produce ultimate sound is better tehn someone who doesnt know the chords and has to play a drum on an instrument that is not a drum if this doesnt make sense to you do not reply because i think you are a complete moron if you do not understand what i am saying

  • @snoopie0420 do you play music?

  • @Marcus7218 yes i do acoustic and electric guitar. i used to drum a little but i liked guitar better so i sold my drums.

  • @snoopie0420 Ok do cause when i play acoustic guitar i usually make a beat beat whit my feet, that help me the keep the rythm and i recently learned to tap my guitar whit my thumbs and ...srry i search the english words xD that add something to the song that's why i think its not bad to make percussion on the guitar cause the wood souds good , it depend of the song sure but ...u understand? srry for the bad english :P

  • @snoopie0420 lol stfu man your just making a ridicule ignorant out of yourself, no wonder cause your so narrowminded you're probably a 15 yo.

  • @digitwiz you are a piece of shit i dont even give a fuck about explainging this to you stupid fucking idiots no more because your minds cant handle the concept that somthing is what it is and that i was not hating on music and who are you to talk shit look at your home page on your youtube you dont do anything with your life so you have to steal somone elses skills and post it representing who you are you are good man ive actually been guitaring since 1993 how bout u lets hear you lies mexican

  • I am literally in awe of what i have just heard.

  • dont play with him anymore antoine he obscures your awesomeness

  • wow !!!! amazing !

  • ive now replayed this 10 or so times in a row. good stuff gents

  • FODAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...

  • That's an amazingly complex pattern for only two guitars...

  • ...and then the building they were in exploded cause no one facility can contain that much concentrated awesome at once...

  • Those triplet harmonics that Dufour does at 1:30 & 3:57 are sexy.as.HELL.

  • @KrummyBear damn right..... check out the ass on them :O

  • @KrummyBear everything antoine does is sexy as hell. his middle name is sexyguitarbeast

  • oh and btw.. i dont like that here antoine doesnt have the space and proper company to play his own solo... maybe he didnt want to though... seems to be content with rhythm work...

  • 2:30 to 2:50 is some previous dufour song... one of those killers with tommy gauthier 8)

  • Does Sebastian have standard tuning in this?

  • the album version is epic with the drums bass and piano as well

  • awesome composition. there are parts that make me say "wait...whaaaat?" and have to rewind the track.

  • NO STOP IT, too much for my ears!!! too much !!!!!

  • 25 justin bieber fans disliked this !!!

  • True musicians rock pajama pants

  • Here's to hoping that Candyrat leads a revival of true musicianship. Cheers guys, excellent playing and composition.

  • Pure magic, although Sebastien is not playing fingerstyle, the styles both together mix so beautifully. I also love it when Antoine and Tommy Gauthier play together, saw and met them upclose. Need more of this.

  • Why this doesn't have 10,000,000 views by now... I will never know. The whole world is being brainwashed by manufactured, cheap, easy to make music that doesn't take any soul or passion to make. Just a bunch of plastic people dancing around on a stage singing predictable melodies that people seem to love. If the world's musical tastes don't change in the next 10 years, I've given up all hope in humanity.

  • @wondubread gotta give people what they want. Not what you want (the artist). These guys make the music they love and very few love it too so their audience is sooo much lower. They don't get a shitload of advertising on tv so they wont be given any real hope of being psychotically famous. It'll annoy the hell out of us all but since they play what they want and not what the general population wants they will remain only semi-famous

  • Guitar sex.

  • @azahnd82 good guitar sex.

  • God. Antoine Dufour is TOO badass. oh and that other guys not bad either.

  • Sebastien Cloutier really pisses me off, hes not candy rat standard, he's just another guitarist to me, hasn't got the candy factor.

  • @KarlToth That's just simple closed minded. What is the "Candy Rat Standard" anyways?

  • @KarlToth

I know what you mean but he is an artist who also wants to present his music to the world and I think his music is beautiful too so there is no point in being pissed off :D

  • I like the blend of the two styles, the finger and the pick matching did a really nice sound

  • 1:02-1:21 'Nuff said

  • incredible solo, incredible musicianship. All around outstanding!

  • hm....to me Sebastien's guitar sounds kinda better ;o

maybe its coz he was playing the lead ...i dunno

  • I bet you those guitars creamed at the end. I know I would have done if I was a guitar.

  • Sebastien looks a lot like Demetri Martin.

  • sebastien...your chord shapes are sickkkkkkkkkkk

  • This is amazing, inspired me and my buddy to write a song. check it out if you like the dual solo guitar style. :)

  • That is so awesome to hear. As a working musician this video gives me drive to learn more!! Keep it up!

  • Sweeeeet.

  • wtf???!!! never heard something as beautiful as that!!!!!!

    fuckin' divine!!!

  • This is the sickest shit I've ever seen

  • wow. really great. they play two complete different melodies and it sounds great! i've heard many songs by antoine dufour or andy mckee etc. but this one is really amazing.

  • Amzing song, simply amazing 1:20 o.o that was the most intense harmonics ever created

  • Amzing song, simply amazing

  • zomg its a bobble head!

  • This is about the best guitar duo that I have ever heard. Awsome!

  • all these guys from candyrat records are beyond amazing! period.

  • Am I the only one to hear some metal influences in this song?

  • songs amazing. really like this style of music.

  • I've been following candy rat players on and off for a while now, and hearing this song for the first time actually blew my mind. I'm awe-struck at the melding of 2 different styles to create a hybrid monster of incredible POWERRRR!

  • Is Seb in his PJs?

  • what guitar does Antoine use ?

  • @qforit A Beauregard; very pricey but obviously worth it if you can get your hands on one.

  • I'd really love to see Constellation posted up here, it's my favorite ! :)

  • Love the bit at 2:30

  • mind blown

  • One thing I've noticed whenever artists such as the one in the above video, and when others like andy mckee play with more than one person, its like human ears cant receive two blasts of high powered insane fingerstyle at the same time. we just cant process it.

  • @JetJoeStudios thats why you listen with headphones so each ear gets a separate load of epic to process :D

  • @JetJoeStudios only one of them is playing fingerstyle in this video. but yes i agree. i almost prefer to hear each artist by themselves or in Antoine Dufour's case i really like to hear him and Tommy Gauthier. i believe there are too many clashing styles between the top fingerstyle artists on candyrat

  • @shivarudra oh man tommy garthier and antoine dufour playing together is the best music ever.

  • @JetJoeStudios thats why i have robot ears

  • @JetJoeStudios

Maybe you cant do it with our consciousness.

Guess, you unconsciousness will catch the whole thing.

  • @JetJoeStudios that would make sense if the above video had both of them playing fingerstyle but only antoine was playing fingerstyle. (I agree with you but the mistake was too noticeable to pass up...trollolol)

  • @boredwan LOL i noticed that too

  • @JetJoeStudios Cloutier isn't playing fingerstyle. He's playing lead, and Dufour is doing fingerstyle accompaniment.

  • @JetJoeStudios I can get lost in the dazzle of one or the other instrumentalist, especially virtuosos like these. But assuming the composition is actually happening in the space between the several instrumental threads, I find repeated listening helps me grasp the gestalt of what the musicians are trying to achieve. Learning the language of the tune allows me to shift my attention from the words to the meaning.

  • @JetJoeStudios

I can process this just fine, maybe you're just riding their dicks.

  • @JetJoeStudios I agree, but then Andy McKee already sounds like 3 blasts of high powered insane fingerstyle.

  • This is perfect my god!!!

  • I love the fact that Sebastien can improv in whatever tuning that is. I can barely do it in standard.

  • @TheReighnart I don't think this is improvisation. According to the description, they are performing a composed song from Sebastien's CD.

  • @crawlthruknives

Oh, yeah, I know, but there are certain parts of the song that just look and feel improved, not the whole thing, but short little sections.

  • @crawlthruknives

from like 2:00 to 3:00 ish

  • Lol, why do people dislike single notes?? I'm sure the man can play chords all day if he wanted. Clearly he is playing leads on top of a groove laid down by Antoine. If both were playing all chords then these haters would complain there is no variance in style or dynamics. It just goes to show you can't please everyone.

  • This is a video I link to my musician friends when I want to show them something absolutely flipping amazing.

  • I love the part where sebastien plays the 1st harmonic and antoine plays the 2nd one around 3:52

  • I like the one guy's use of classical technique on a steel string. These guys are seriously skilled.

  • God I appreciate SO MUCH Sebastien Cloutier's Musician spirit as he accompanys Antoine! Look at that part at 3:10 ... that little kinda brige / interlude which in Antoine plays very low and harmonics.. He does pay attention to lower his playing's presence and play on a lower strenght so it keep the blance of volume between the two guitars so it makes it perfectly audible. Not all musicians think of that. Gratz to sebastien cloutier and Im glad these both guys come from my province. QUEBEC!

  • I have a friend that said, and I quote "...Acoustic is so lame, its mostly played for country songs and its retarded..." Oh my God, you all should have seen the look on his face when I showed him this video. It was priceless!! XD

I love Antoine and Sebastien both though, the blend of their styles is not only flawless, but absolutely beautiful.

Makes me smile every time. :D

  • très beau a regarder vos jeux de doigts.. beaucoup d'habileté .Bravo *****a vous deux.... Luce

  • damn great melodies

  • OHHOOHOHOHHO!! 5*+!

OH MY GOD! this song OH MY GOD

    oh my god THIS SONG!

  • Do they ever teach master classes? Even if it's on Mars, I'll be there!

  • So good. your are awesome guys. wish ti play half as good as you one day :)

  • I love how they mix there individual styles so well. It flows as a whole masterpiece but ether one separate would still be an incredible composition

  • @ChokeAndDie103 Hence the name, "Fluid Parallel" :D

  • Sebastien Cloutier have such a kool part at 00:20 - 00:41 , well he has a koolpart the whole song really , thats just my favorite part

  • i like it alot with the leading scales. i love antoine dufour but i was definetly looking for something more like this. awesome

  • who's best?...both !

  • antoine is best guitarist ever

  • @marooki

LOL justin beiber cant play anthing hes just a guy that somehow got into the music buisness which is just a mistake.....cos this is 10x or more better and any other stuff....

  • antoine isn't using stonebridge guitars anymore?

  • justin Bieber CANNOT play this.

  • no shit, really.

if he could i'd kill myself.

  • some parts of this sound like John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess' song Hang 11

    Beautiful, beautiful song!

  • Bravo!!!!

  • holy shiz

  • Super duet

  • This is so good.

  • 1:30 amazing
