Damn! That was awesome! It took me like a hundred tries to beat Dracula for this game. He's much much easier in the original Rondo of Blood, though, since there aren't any bottomless pits where you fight him. :O
I have to disagree, the first part has to be the easiest in my opinion. All I had to do was sit on the bottom pillars and chuck axes at him, and he can be hit with them up to three times in one round.
Heh yeah, he's a joke. Sometimes you can just toss axes in one spot, having to duck the blue force-push thing once, but that's it. It's still my favorite Castlevania of the non-metroid variety.
Yeah he was hard for me in the beginning but after I figured out where to stand on the blocks he's pretty easy. Not as easy looking as you made it but good job. I didn't like the game overall TOO much (I personally rate it a 7.5/10) it was too stiff for my liking after playing Super Castlevania IV.
Yes, the axe is probably the best item in this game.

Yes you need to stay on the lower pillars and you'll avoid his attacks easier, especially the big blue shockwave.
