  • my friend what brand of metal detector were you using and what size of search coil thank you

  • I was useing a Troy Shadow X3 with a 9" coil and these detectors are awesome relic & coin machines. Thank you for your comments..!

  • whats it worth?

  • To me it's a piece of history that tells us a story of the site. Thank you

    Bill

  • Nice Find! I have had that issue today.. i lose my find i guess i should just dig dig dig!

  • Yes you are so right! Troy Galloway one time told me a story that he had a guy that said to him that the detector was great and great depth but...I keep getting these GHOST SIGNALS... Troy said to him that he should go back and did these signals until he finds it. He explained that this is the halo effect that they were deep signals but the halo was broken because the dirt was removed and removed the halo. Great post my friend.

  • on of my favorite videos of detecting, deep copper, even though it was on the side 2ft deep halo signal.

  • It was one of my memorable digs that I will not soon forget too. Thanks buddy as always!

    Bill

  • Can you possibly show the coin ?

  • I'll try take a close-up soon as possible. Thank you for watching the adventure! Bill(pa)

  • That was an awsome find a foot and a half down!

  • yeah the Troy Shadow x2 & x3 &x5 are great metal detectors and they all have great depth. Thank you very much and thank you for watching & your nice comments! Bill(pa)

  • nice job

  • Thank you very much! It was a lot of digging. :>)

  • how much does a shadow X3 cost

  • It costs around $350 to $500 in round there. But it has it's limits just like any other detectors. A few places in Virginia like around Brandy Rock it is very hot soil but most places it runs great. Bill(pa)

  • WOW,congrats on on the 1723 copper, you have a good metal detector

  • Thank you very much for your great comments! Well the detector works very well here in western,Pa. But in other parts of the nation I might use a different detector depending on the soil conditions. Thanks again! Bill(pa)

  • I agree with a poster that most people would have given up on the coin. Fantastic find!

  • Thank you as always your nice comments! I have never used a pin pointer but maybe someday I'll pick one up. Thanks Bill(pa)

  • pin pointer

  • thank you and I am working on it.. Bill

  • Now .. That is cool, guys! Awesome find!

  • We have found many different relics from this great site. I believe they could be a few more trinkets in there somewhere. This site has been our best viewed series. Check out Rodgers site on you tube because he has our earlier metal detecting adventures from this site and many others. He is at.. RJB444 thanks for posting and watching our adventures. Bill

  • this comment may get on here twice, it's not showing up the first time, so i will make a comment again. i was so amazed at that find that i had to watch it several times. even though the troy is a great detector i think that find is a direct result of not giving up! most people would have written that off once it disappeared. by you not giving up the troy found the signal again and a great find was the result.

  • Yes it took a little of both to find the copper! You know on div 7 when I found the La. Pelican Coat Button it was a very weak signal in hot ground and it took me to have faith on the detector I am using to know dig it.

Thank you for your insights on the find & video. Bill(pa)

  • that find was so amazing that i had to watch it over several times. the troy is a great detector, however to me, that find was a result of not giving up. once the signal was lost most people i know would have written it off. you did not give up and the troy found the signal again.

  • nice find!

  • Thank you very much for you nice comment! Thanks for watching! Bill(pa)

  • Unbelievable - wow good going!!!

  • Yeah was a great site for many years for some, but we got there much later and you can see what they have missed and we picked up. Our goal every year is to find colonial artifacts and a few coppers. But it does not work that way!

Judy from being from Canada you have so much French & Indian & Rev War Era sites up there. I am planning a trip up there in the next 2 years to do some of the staging sites where the British were camp out just before 1776 & 1777 campaigns. Thanks again Judy!

  • Thank you buddy!! Bill(pa)

  • hi...

    which detector are you use?

    Regards...

  • We both use many different ones but in this video we used the Shadow X3.. Thank you for posting!.. BIll(pa)

  • Wow Guys:Man I've never seen anything that small come from that depth. That was a great find. What a great video. Thanks guys for sharing

  • Thank you Dude420here! You I saw Ed Fedory onetime down in Va digging minnie balls around 18" to 22" being the deepest. I could not believe it if I did not see it. I've learned throughtout the years to keep digging. You know Troy Galloway who designed these Shadow detectors told me a story one time about a friend of his was chaseing deep signals and disappear. He called them Ghost Signals. Well troy told him what we were saying and he went back and he dug up very deep coppers & buttons.

  • Bill, To this day, I am still amazed at your "deep copper" find. It's moments like these that make the effort worth it.

  • I do agree. You know that signal we left up there on the Ravine where the re-bouts were we should have kept digging. You know that could been a Cannonball. Well we learned from that and now it paid off. Bill(pa)

  • Thats Great, it just goes to show that you should always dig those deep signals. even if ya havta go back. great work guys.

  • Thank you Eaks2215 Yes I always did them iffy signals because you never know what they are unless you dig. Thanks for your nice comments. Bill(pa)
