Hi I just got a 1991 e reg it says fz on the log but it looks the same as this the clocks are kmh with mph overlay.is there any way to tell by the frame engine numbers if it's a import or just been monkeyed about with, cheers?
@akittsy hi, actually it's quite tricky. these are domestic jap releases, so all of them are grey imports. the tricky thing in the story is that they have totally regular FZ750 engines with FZ750 engine ID numbers. this may be the reason for the FZ reg. the frame number though should be FZR750 specific for sure. it does not really matter if it has an engine from an FZ750 as it is totally identical to the original one even if one of the previous owners swapped it. hope it helps! take care
Nice! I have a 1988FZR750RU, which was a homologation special for the US AMA 750 racing series. Only 200 imported, mine was never raced, I am the third owner, 11,875 miles!
I have one the same but mine is painted in the cadbury boost colours, I changed the carbs and swapped the ignition from a fzr 1000 which really helped it, does this model have the exup exhaust valve or not as mine did not ? Only thing I did not like was the powerband which is similar to a 2 stroke and also the rear brake was too powerful and warped the disc quickly, swopped to later bluespot calipers but not any better than the originals, great bike and thanks for posting
this is a domestic japanese model, that's why i wrote "gray import" in the description.
fzr 750 has been released for the japanese market just before the fzr 1000 using the body of the 1000 with the engine of the outrunning fz 750. later on the well known fzr 1000 came with a new engine and this body except some minor changes in the suspension.
Szia ! Ez a gép 2003-2004-ben az enyém volt. Nem tudod azóta mi lett vele? Ha neked meg van még lehet visszavenném.
Előre is köszi!

Bike looks awesome for an 87
Did the 87 come witha solo seat, that would make it complete!
