  • the best music in game was the garden forgotten by time i think ^^

  • @grumblegnome I dont kno if the like button went through but i agree that was the best song on the game

  • @JokeEmperor Lord of shadows the worst cv GAME! >:s

  • @theblckmag ....yeah, you're an idiot.

  • @joegt123 ...

  • @joegt123 slash agreed "theblckmag" must be retarded...

  • @XzethihanX Indeed. Lords of Shadow isn't the best Castlevania, but it's damn good.

  • @theblckmag What about Castlevania 2? That game sucked donkey ass..

  • @Hivolt99087 hey...Castlevania 2 Simon´s quest is my favorite and its one of the best and most original castlevania titles ever made

The only game that suck ass is Castlevania Judgment

  • @Hivolt99087 Only someone who didn't beat the game would say that or found it too difficult and had to use a gameshark ;p jk i don't know if you beat it or not but still. Every CV game made has been a stellar hit cept... Judgement..

  • @wizardlyTKO Lol, nah I'm just naive(I prolly misspelt that) someone said CV 2 was bad so I just agreed ^^

  • @LooChenko Technically you're right but the poster wrote he didn't like God of War. I figured that as he played GoW before any other game with the same gameplay, GoW will always be the game the poster compares games with the same gameplay to.

  • I remember playing the level and being a bit irritated as to the tame music. And when the music hit the 1:30 minute mark it really surprised me. Didn't expect THAT coming after the long intro ^-^

  • While a good tune, this song feels completely unfitting a castlevania game.. gief good old songs back.

  • So, is Lament of Innocence a small & linear game? Or is it long, non-linear like Symphony of the NIght with a lot of exploration & secrets to be solved?

I can’t say I liked GOW, so if this the same deal, I think I’ll pass…

And most importantly is this actually a “CastleVania” game?

  • @alxxz It took me about 12-15 hours to complete. You start off in a central hub and can choose the order in which you want to play the levels. The paths are branching and include secrets (not to the extend of the 2D versions tough).

Gameplay borrows from God of War but has a strong Castlevania feeling. When you reach the middle of the game you'll get quite a lot of cutscenes in which you'll get a lot of background info about the origins of Dracula and the Belmont Clan.

  • @Xerosch This game came out before God of War so it can't have borrowed from it could it? But both I guess borrow from Devil May Cry so whatever. Anyway, great game with great music, and it definitely feels like Castlevania.

  • I think Michiru Yamane wanted to make a soundtrack not for Leon, but for...Joachim!

I'm still playing LoI^^ and I must say, that I can move through House of Sacred Remains for couple of hours just to listen to music. And I'm little crazy, because I'm trying to synchronize music and slashes of Joachim swords^^

  • That´s more like it, a shame they fired the composer :/, castlevania really isn´t castlevania without music like this. New one seems to be getting a more typical dynamic hollywood soundtrack :(

  • @thepezdispenser Didn't get fired. She left. Also, her website says she broke her back in 2009 and there hasn't been any recent updates... Sad :(

  • @gunslingerfry

Very sad indeeed :(, hope she´ll return one day, she´s surely missed. From what i´ve seen the visuals in the new game are pretty awesome, but it needs her music to make it awesome or maybe someone making similar music.

  • @gunslingerfry Man havent you heard about the concert of CastleVania of this year??? Find videos of it, Michiru plays with an orchestra...

  • @xXxGoyexXx That's great to hear. Is she standing?

  • @gunslingerfry OH YEAH!!! When she enter the auditorium walking the audience recieves her with an standing ovation! Excuse my english, regards from Costa Rica!

  • Not only is the soundtrack amazing the is awsome to play i beat it like 3 times and i feel like im leon so kewl cant wait for lords of shadows o yea.

  • I used to fall asleep to this surprisingly.

  • Easily best Music in the whole Castlevania Franchise. And one of the very best Game Music of all time.

  • Couldn't agree more with you.. Also, few compositions of any genre can match this one, way to go Yamane

  • @TheParnak: Ain't that the truth. Yamane is just incredibly talented. Her music is classy, elegant and absorbing. I love her, I hope she makes music for many years to come.

  • i rememeber playing this when i was lil brings back memories

  • @sodusispoop Games not that old, oh wait, you must be really young.

  • @archangelmai its was made in like 02 or something right? i was 10 an im 18 now so im not young :)

  • @sodusispoop Well I would beg to differ on that, I have been out of high school for 6 years. Cognitively, your brain will continue to grow until you reach 25, so yes, you are young to me.

  • @archangelmai uhhhhhhhhhhh ok

  • Why does this remind me of Neclord's castle theme in Suikoden at first?

  • @OldSkoolAngel Kind of does, in a way.

  • Ok, I know Bach layed the origin of dark organ music, so some ties are inevitable. But parts of this musictheme here are really directly taken out of toccata and fugue.

Still dark organ music came alot through castlevania, and for this we all have to thank them.

  • This track is just amazing. Michiru Yamane truly created an epic soundtrack for this game. It's too bad she left Konami. I will miss her amazing music.

  • i like listening to this whike i play runescape

  • This song will always remind of the LSD come down.

    Smooth but maybe, too smooth...

  • @Jericobra

    OMG me too!

  • castlevania 4, sinfonia de la noche y lamento de inosencia .........los mejores juegos de la historia una verdadera obra de arte y con la mejor musica jamas escuchada en un videojuego...

  • esto es arte y no chingaderas

  • why?

  • I love this tune. This was by far my favorite song of the game. I would hang out on this level and just listen to music.

The game wasn't bad either. Not as good as the side scrolling games but not bad at all.

  • a beutiful song,

  • una melodia tan tranquilizante que solo se quiebra con los sonidos del latigo una hermosa melodia de lamen of innocence

  • Such a relaxing song.....Good Times =) im a veary big fan of castlevania love there games .

  • wow, makes me want to get a piano..4000-10,000 T_T art can be a cut in your wallet

  • i remember playing this game just to listen to the music :)

  • Same here. This game's music is just awsome.

  • This theme includes a self-homage from yamane´s another work in the past . Most concrete in Nemesis 3 : The Eve of Destruction for MSX systems , released on 1989 in Japan and Europe ( in Japan entitled as Gradius III : Gofer no yabou - Episode II

  • help me...how to play in pc.....me pc no have cd drive...buat i use iso

  • @pulaubetong sorry... but, cant you get a certain kind of controller for your pc?

  • once 1:50 comes in, such a great song!

  • er 1:38 ....i was way off

  • 1:38 FTW

  • classic example of amazing video game music, i'll take this over a band anyday

  • I know, I keep listening more videogame music than actual bands

  • one of the best videogames songs!

alundra-shrine of lake is also very good.

  • Castlevania rocks, i love that you can play SOTN on xbox live.

  • Another great Composition

  • This may sound weird to some, but it is thanks to this game, that I was first introduced to the Castlevania franchise, so I owe a lot to this game.

For the nay sayers, it's a pretty cool 3D game, better than the 64 games at least, though they're not bad either. Kudos to Konami one of the best Vampire slayer series of all time. No offense to other Vampire Slayer-ish series like Legacy of Kain, Bloodrayne, DMC etc. but I have a soft spot for Castlevania. Great games and awesome music, nuff said.

  • Devil May Cry was strictly just Demons. And it basically ripped off Castlevania or tried to take some of its ideas. Making Dante similar to a Belmont except he slayed Demons instead of Vampires.

  • To rip-off something is inevitable these days because if you think about it, almost everything has been done by now. My point being, it matters not that DMC rips off CV, DMC is still a great series in its own right, I'm just more used to the CV series, that's all.

  • @purpleblizzard

No it isn't. I can name a bunch of people who have their own ideas and have never ripped anything off and nothing they do is of the same design, or style as anything else. Look up Giger, no other artist does art like he does. Look up Jame's Cameron, no one does machine art like he does. Some you people are just super quick to judge because your too lazy to actually research stuff up that is "new". But whatever fuck it.

  • you sir...get a thumbs down ;)

  • riiiiiiight, there's probley 50+video games and 100+movies alone just about killing demons and vampires. You just giving one expample just made you sound retarted...

  • no what you said was just pointless thats like say "there's been more then one dracula movie so the one before it stole ideas from it *blank dumb stare*" so i was smiply teasing you, not trying to prove a point but both are fun methods messing with retards. And as for the terminator being such a specific plot noone would dare clone it specially now how silly fucking rich Cameron is, but as for vamp movies go, its a dime a dozen snooze fest with demons and all that teenage crap.

  • And my point was simply to point out how much I like Castlevania, suddenly because I kind of insulted other fanboys' fav games and said something out of context, I'm now considered a bad guy. but this is youtube after all, so what else can I expect. Who made up this rating system anyway? Maybe the creators of this site knew that youtubers would intentionally start a curse war and they simply enjoy watching us verbally abuse each other. Meh, this is old news anyway.

  • @purpleblizzard Yeah! I like this game too (and I also think that the 64 games are not bad)! This wasn't my first Castlevania (I played most of the old ones, and the Metroidvanias too), but it's my favorite!

  • @abcabc495 i think the n64 castlevanis storys were nice but omg the gameplay was terrible

  • @purpleblizzard Agreed, except for the whole Devil May Cry thing. And I only say that because DMC has nothing to do with vampires with the sole exception of Nevan in DMC 3, and she's a vampire in name only. So yeah, not really a vampire slayer-ish series, just saying.

  • @KeizerXilian I haven't played any of them sadly. I just assumed from Dante's appearance that he would be some kind of Demon Slayer who must have at LEAST fought some vampires. Your reply confirms that he kinda fought one.

  • @purpleblizzard Naw, it's mostly just demons of various types. Like I said, Nevan is the closest thing to a vampire but the jury's out on her. She acts kind of like one and does have an attack where she'll try to bite your neck in the fight, but other than that and the fact that she sicks bats on you there's not really a lot of lean to her being an actual vampire. But if you get a chance to at least play the first and third you should, they're easily the two best of the series.

  • Castlevania rules!!

  • castlevania has the best music

  • @MetalheadsAbyss yes indeed

  • dam i loved this game!

  • this is the best song from this game... SOTN has about 15 songs as good as this one... for example "requiem for the gods" and the song played in the caves and the water fall... but this song at the 1 minute 37 marker... just can't be touched by any other on this game's soundtrack (in my opinion, of course)

  • THE BELMONTS WILL HUNT THE NIGHT!

  • One of my top faves for this series. No. Pretty much ever.

A side note: Every Castlevania I've played has a good soundtrack. there's always songs that stay with you for eternity, that are truly timeless. There are few games that can conjure up this exact feeling for me.

Seriously Konami. Good %^$*#%& job with the music, If one were to combine companies to make the perfect game, Konami would be the go-to guys for music with Capcom right behind them.

  • I just remembered that one of the songs from this game is like from castlevania 2 simon's quest when you enter the woods i think its this one at 1:37 but im not sure

  • I think you are referring to Bloody Tears.

  • i agree i would but this for the 360 if they made a remake

  • This song both calms me and makes me hyper at the same time. What a feeling!

  • True!

  • @goldiesguy82 Is it just me or is video game music the best music for that kind of sentiment?

  • @goldiesguy82 does that mixture of calm and hyper give u the ultimate feeling of extacy and make u cum in ur pants

  • i wish theyd remake lament of innocence for xbox 360 i would buy it

  • I wish they didn't

Sony helped konami make money with this

so they must make a remake for ps3 (too)

  • they should make it for both its an awsome game

  • I've been looking for this song for ages! One of my favourites from the soundtrack. I love it!

  • Can't you get this song and Abandoned Mansion off of BlueLaguna or OcRemix?

  • I-I MEANT ABANDONED CASTLE!!!!

  • This Makes me Feel Like The world Is Plunged Into darkness and i am the only that can save it.

  • This is my favorite track from this game.

  • This music make me feel in a dark world.

  • is that good or bad?

  • woooo

  • woooooo this is so cool

  • This song was pretty much what made me buy this game again lol.

  • chimba de juego

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • After 1:37 it remains me of Halo.

  • BLASPHEMY!

  • It does...

  • this song gives me the chills i love it lol

  • 0:00-0:27 that should fit perfect for a funeral!!!

  • Music at 1:37 shows Leon's anguish and anger in his fight for his beloved Sara... Majestic

  • I'd say it's a more of a spiritually inclined section than an emotionally inclined one. There's something very cleansing about it, almost ethereal. It paints a picture, like the stronger parts to 'Dark Palace of Waterfalls'.

Something more emotional would be 'Rear Garden'.

  • shivers down the spine every time

  • Castlevania "copied" Metroid style since SotN in 1997.

    Metroid is from 1986.

  • Castlevania got it's stories from the Belmont family legends. Lament of Innocence is no exception.

  • huh? what do you mean

  • Where can they be found?

  • Based on this logic, could one state the Metroid Prime series "copied" the first person shooter style of game?

I realize Nintendo deemed the Prime series as a First Person Action game. lol Food for thought.

  • i love dis theme omg

  • what does that have to do with this track ? :P

  • one of the best songs in any game....

  • Beautiful song. I haven't played the game though. Would like too though, but don't own a PS2. :/

  • this is a nice song o.o i really like this game

  • Can't help it but I think this is the best Song of the whole Castlevania reeks in mine opnion (after that bloody tears)

  • My favorite music from the game!

  • Love this song. I love the organ at the beginning and the part that starts at 1:37.

  • Comment removed

  • OMG

    I love this song.

    At 2:37 Awesome.

  • i love this song!

  • This had such a good original soundtrack...i remember thinking it during the game when i first played it.

  • This is my favorite track in the game.

    It gives me goosebumps. xD

  • If youve ever played this game the music goes PERFECTLY with this place

  • Yeah, totally. I don't know why, but Ihavent played this game for years, but i STILL remember it.

  • at 0:30 sounds like metriod

  • from 1:37 reminds me of the cavern levels of others castlevania games.

    Cool music btw
