I've been watching this guy since I started taking my peak oil preparations seriously, and he has always been sensible. Here is a couple of peak oil tips, if you live in Canada the govt maintains old houses, forts and historical towns that can operate without any electrical or oil in case of say an emp event from an h-bomb in space or just plain ol emp. A large stock of coal and a small stone forge will be more valuable then a large pile of silver and a small vault of gold, forge hose shoes :)
@iAMjamieDbaby Yucca has no nuclear material but it's for anyone near (25 miles as the crow flys) a nuclear power plant. I don't think these will protect from nuclear war fallout though.
@MrEnergyCzar it's nuclear waste at Yucca Mt. and they plan to put more or as much as can fit. I took a tour on site last year and it saw the containers the waste was in. I think my mom still has pictures.
There's also Potassium iodide in tincture of iodine and betadine solution used as antiseptics.Applied to the skin iodine gets absorbed. If no other source is available in may do the job. There's also Potassium iodide in MAUI BABE BROWNING LOTION. Put it on the skin and reapply as soon as it starts to fade.
Finnish people suffer from a high terrestrial and cosmic radiation anyways. More than 7 mSv per year. Much higher than central Europe with 1-2 mSv / year.
Elemental (free) iodine is poisonous, except in the very small amounts in water disinfected with iodine tablets or a few drops of tincture of iodine. Furthermore, elemental iodine supplied by iodine tablets and released by tincture of iodine dropped into water is not effective as a blocking agent to prevent thyroid damage. If you do not have any potassium iodide, DO NOT TAKE IODINE TABLETS OR TINCTURE OF IODINE. Potassium IODIDE is what you want. And only 130 mg per day during emergency
I bet you got a lot of people saying you were nuts to have these on hand in case one of our nuke plants had issues. I just heard they sold out of them in Finland already since the Japan radiation leaks.
Is Lugol's or Trophic iodine drops as good as these iodine tablets? Is it the same thing? I was tested for Low Thyroid in Jan 2011, but now with the Japan nuclear reactor possibly being destroyed I'm wondering if I'll need this every day. I live in Western Canada.
The pills he's holding are the "Iosat" brand (stands for Iodine saturation). The national distributor's website is nukepills . com. Lots of information there. Current exp date is 11/2017.
It's a sensible precaution, thumbs up. I think a lot of people might reject the idea as "extreme" because to accept it as a possibility means they'd have to think about it seriously, and we know how folks just HATE thinking! lol
Good point about you don't want to have to go out to get the tablets "after" the radioactive incident has occurred. I guess you can draw straws to see who goes.

You were the only one talking about these pills over the winter. Now that the Japan meltdown happened, its common knowledge.

This video came out "before" the japan meltdown? You are a futurist. I'm getting them as gifts this year for people.
