  • I can't stand to look at this guy. A bigger LIAR i can't imagine. And now he wants re-election. Residents of NH, Please look at this man. How many lies has he spewed since having been our Governor? enough is enough.

  • @bsgoalie101 If you want your child's education to revolve around the bible this country allows you to do that! There are private schools you can send them too. You can shelter your kid and make them as ignorant of the real world as you want. Just like I have the right to protect my child from zealots.

  • @wickedalwayz82 why should i have to? why not send your kid to some form of degenerative private school? public schools in this country used to believe in God, The Bible, and Jesus. You're so out of touch, it's ridiculous. Your facts about gay marriage and civil unions are fictitious as well. You're a liar. Just like Lynch.

  • Hurray for New Hampshire. The governor did what he was appointed to do, represent the people of his state, he sent that bill back to ensure religion would be protected and also granted citizens of his state equal rights. Good on him!

  • Yes but in doing so he did not represent the citizens who are strongly against it, he did nothing to ensure that the schools wouldn't teach same sex marriage, and he is now a hypocrite, we elected him because of his beliefs, a belief that same sex marriage is wrong.

  • So personal beliefs rule this country not justice which is suppose to be equal & impartial?5 states have same sex marriage, its on the news, kids live in a society that has already had gay unions for decades, its your neighbors, co-workers, their class mates. You cant shelter them from something like homosexuals, its like trying to keep them away from heterosexuals. Live & let live . Mass has had gay marriage for 5 yrs & nothing happend. Life went on, there was no storm. It will all be ok ^_^

  • Mass schools taught 5 year olds that homosexuality and gay marriage is ok, without even notifying their parents of it, and when the parents complained the school simply said its legal now, we can teach it however we won't.

  • Life went on, kids are growing up in a society that is far more tolerant & compassionate. Perhaps in mass, kids who are gay will be less likely to commit suicide, less likely to turn to drugs, wont be harrassed through out their entire childhood & teenage life. Maybe, just maybe, parents wont be kicking out their homosexual child, isnt it going to be great when an entire generation free from discrimination is given the same opportunity to thrive in their schools and community? I think it is =D

  • Too bad they didn't give the parents the choice to opt out if they did not want them learning about same sex marriage, because of their religion, it isn't dealing with being gay but marrying as a gay.

  • Its a part of life, how sheltered can you keep kids? Gay marriage is in the news, its in the news papers, its going on around them. Your only hurting your child by taking on this "if i dont see it and i dont believe it its not happening" mentality, instead of teaching them tolerance and that gay marriage exists. They dont have to agree, but thats not going to keep it from existing in the world.

  • Or perhaps the parents do not want the school to teach it because they cannot counter in a religion whereas if the parents were to talk about it they could. So its not a "if i don't see it and i don't believe it its not happening" mentality the parents were not allowed to take them out and explain it and reference it with which they want to reference the topic with such as if the family is religious.

  • public schools do not answer to religion, neither does our government. The schools will do whats in the best interest of the children not a religion. The discussion of marriage will come up and parents always have the choice to discuss this topic with their child before the school. You do not have to wait for a school to bring this topic up to teach your kids your "values". If parents want to shelter their children they can pay to send them to private christian or catholic schools.

  • @wickedalwayz82 but why should people with values have to sacrifice so that you can teach our children your hopelessly Godless values? Sadly, there was a time (not that long ago, either) when government had religious values of their own. This isn't about 'shelter', it's about teaching right from wrong.

  • @wickedalwayz82 You are just a complete idiot. Read a Bible. Homosexuality is a sin against God. Discrimination? No, its called obeying The Father. Christians don't hate the sinner, just the sin. You really are wicked always. Just go away.

  • @bsgoalie101

Freedom of religion. How is that so difficult to understand. I have faith in God, not in the religions and rules created by man. This country does not bow down to religion, our educational system should not either. It is a diverse nation full of many religions and races. Homosexuals have been around as long as heterosexuals. Get over it.

  • Yay for gay marriage in New Hampshire!

  • So sick of Maggie Gallagher and her hatred of homosexuals. She is an evil person.

  • It's documented that Maggie Gallagher personally pockets 42 percent of every dollar donated to NOM. Which is it, Maggie, your religious convictions or your Greed for Money that is your true motivation?

  • The governor hasn't even received a bill. It's still being determined--thanks to the many extras being added to coddle bigots like yourself. Stop spreading this nonsense.

  • It's time the Magster (Maggie Gallagher) started dealing with her own personal issues like her little greed problem (she pocketed a whole bunch of the money from her little "non-profit"). Call Governor Lynch and tell him to support marriage equality that groups like Cornerstone and NOM can keep their greedy little self-righteous noses out of New Hampshire's business.

  • No call the governor and tell him to let the bill pass and to not let special interest bigots like the National Organization for Marriage (a hate group) to go to hell and stop meddling in the affairs of the state of New Hampshire.

  • Lynch doesn't even have a bill yet. The legislature has vowed to get to a place that will appease all sides (except, of course, for the anti-gays).
