I'd caution you to use great care judging the motives of others. We actually considered older kids too. However, we prayfully considered how much we could handle and what was right for OUR family. Adoption can be a hard transition for everyone! The longer children are in orphanages, the greater the needs and potentially more difficult the adjustment. We thought of the child, our own resources, and our existing child. Our decision was entirely motivated from care... not an absence of it.
It is not easy to raise a child of a different race in US society. That's bad, but it is what it is. People are not responsible for what others have done. Its amazing that some can find the courage to adopt at all. Privetgreetings, are you just another liberal wanting everyone to feel guilty because the world is not perfect? You are a miserable wretch. You breed hopelessness and sorrow! People like you simply generate more sorrow in the world. Guilt NEVER motivated anybody nor fixed anything.
thank you too everyone who adopts a child! I was a adopted from Russia at 16 months old and I'm a teenager now and I thank god everyday for a homeand loving family because I don't know where i'd be if they had'nt had adopted me!
The smile on a orphaned child's face because she now has a mommy and daddy is priceless. I can see and feel the happiness in her and it just brings tears of joy to my eyes. God bless you!
Thanks for posting this sweet video of your little girl! congratulations on your successful adoption! Thanks for changing the life of a deserving orphan!
@privetgreetings I'll only speak for my own family. I am not embarrassed of our adoption- nor should she be- but I want her to deal with it on her timetable. If she chooses to keep something private and not explain her adoption, I prefer to afford her that opportunity. Adopted children have enough to overcome. I don't wish to add to it by introducing a transracial factor. Even in our situation, I remain appalled at the occasional ignorant and insensitive comments some people make.

Why don't US citizens rather adopt their own abandoned black babies?
