  • Sorry, don't know the name. It was my first time there, and I haven't been back since. Any of the locals know?

  • I think that the area under Roosevelt Road is known as the Canal St. Wye / Union Avenue Junction. I don't know that with any great certainty, but it is a possibility.

I was actually at this area a few days ago. It looks a lot different now than it did back in October of 97. I have a couple of videos of stuff in that area, so please view them if you'd like.

5 stars for the video and a favorite

  • What is the name of this interlocking? I was in Chicago for the first time a few weeks ago and spent about an hour in this same place. I may try to model this interlocking in HO. Maybe...

  • You might want to try Google Earth. The entire Chicago rail system is shown in great detail. I may use it as a model for a future layout.

  • Back before the MP36, Back when there were older cars from the CNW, RI, MILW, and CB&Q

  • Great video! Lots of action. Is that Roosevelt Road you're standing on to capture the footage? And at :48, what kind of locomotive is that pushing the METRA train into the station? Are they still in operation? I rarely see them any longer. Still, a nice job was done here! This is a keeper!

  • Thanks. I had to check on Google Maps, cause it was many years ago and my first visit to the city, but yes it is Roosevelt Rd. The loco is F40PHM-2 #191, which according to a roster Web site was built between 1991-1992. I can't say for sure if the F40PHM-2s are still running, because I haven't been back there in about 8 years. Anyone else know?

  • Yes They are still in operation actually lots of them are metra suplies alot of lines with the engines so it depends on wich line you will see them at . the metra you see pushing the engine is called A : F40PH

And There Newer Engines Are Called

    b: MP36
