@generalgene007 I tell you it is interesting. It is getting much easier each time I do it. But 3 goats is tiring. But I like it, kinda want my own now....
@DeathToAllHamsters I have never ate it I don't think. If I end up with some extra milk then I might try a batch of soft cheese which is a cottage cheese. Ummm this might be interesting, tonight at 6pm central standard think of me I will be starting this project of milking these goats on my own with the help of my daughter, and it is the 1st time ever...Well with the exception of the last 2 nights of training. But the owners were there and now they are gone....Misty
@mmlrc6atgmailcom it got a special taist to it and look but it melsts in your mouth its soo good good luck with that :) my dad worked as a milker on a farm when i was younger was fun to try and yer its hard to get it right but ones you do its a reward in it self :)
@stymye Thank yo, I might try to make some soft cheese if I end up with extra milk. Oh it is soooo hot and humid...With no ac either...Just let the children play in the creek today while getting sand and then we came back to the house and I sprayed them down with the garden hose to wash the sand off, and Mountainman got ahold of the hose and sprayed me down, it was sooo cold but felt sooo good when he was done....
Oh goats are so much fun! We have three mamas that kidded about about 10 weeks ago and gave us 5 little doelings. I have been milking 2 of the mamas for 2 weeks now. What a learning experience and what fun! Enjoy it Misty!
@Vaultcracker2 LOL this is a community the is shoeless...They don't even wear them to church...There is this one man here that actually goes year around w/o them..They wear alot of sandles, in the winter they wear tennie shoes and socks....
Ohh Misty~how exciting! What a great opportunity to learn so much & get to keep the milk too! What a blessing! Can't wait to see your videos as the week goes along. I would love to have some chickens & goats.
@redberrychick43 Ohh I know...It will be a very interesting week here. I don't knbow if I will do one video at the end or a couple thru out the week. I guess I will just have to see how it goes.....Thank you!!!
We had an old jersey growing up named Daisy. I wasn't too good at milking her though. It didn't help that she stepped back one day, right on top of my foot. Wow that hurt. Reckon that has anything to do with my flat feet ? lol
@mhpgardener LOL I wonder if it had a reason for you beinng flat footed....Isn't Daisy just a good name for a cow? This is the first time at me milking anything, I tried once with a goat and me and her just didn't jive, I thought it was her but now I think it was the both of us...These poor goats will be happy when there owners get back home...lol..
Oh how exciting! I do alot of pet sitting and I have a few clients with goats ~ I really love them, they are quite personable - like dogs are! lol. I am looking forward to your upcoming videos. Hope you and your children have lots of fun caring for your neighbors "kids"!
@preppinjunkie Yes it is! We will learn a lot I will have the children there to help me...And I get to keep the milk while they are gone...Thank you!! ANd God Bless
