  • Maybe the greatest doo wop song of all times. It's got my vote.

  • @minsytown What do you mean, "maybe"? ;)

  • @ihatecolereynolds Because music is a matter of taste. To say it IS the greatest would be up for debate. Get a grip. I said MAYBE specifically to avoid replies like yours. Have a good day.

  • @minsytown It was a joke... This is my favorite kind of music, I was trying to imply that. I guess it doesn't really work with text...

  • @ihatecolereynolds Sorry, yeah it's hard to tell, but it's my favorite too so we're on the same page. Cheers.

  • @Overlookedagain Oh yeah, sorry I meant 80s.

  • This was also on Rabbids Go Home. I'm only 12 years old, but I love this music so much! Screw Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, 50s- 90s music FTW!

  • @cicitheechincbat I'm also 12 and i hate lil wayne and techno

  • @cicitheechincbat and also love oldies

  • I swear to God I lived in this decade in the past, because for the past 3 years, I have practically lived in it. I love it and can't get enough of it. I have records, movie projectors, tube radios, and so on. I can't get enough of this decade!!

  • @toasteroven427 50's=the best decade

  • one of the greats

  • Quintessential song of the 1950s.

  • GAHD i love music!

  • John Lennon used to play this as a kid...

  • i'd do anything to live one day in the 50's/60's

  • Lots of love and respect to Mr. Wright

  • The one person that hit dislike is probably listening to 50 cent right now.

  • Belongs in fallout.

  • I first heard this song in the film stand by me.

  • I heard this memorable tune even when I was in grade school back in the 50's

  • I see a guy driving an old country road that I take to school. He has the most badass studebaker! all cream with the tiny oval window in the back and black on the tips of the fins where the chrome separates the two. I just imagine him cruising to this. :D The same car was in the cornfield across from his house last spring. It was rusty with no trim.

  • I was 13 when this was out...heard it on WHOT radio in youngstown,Oh....such a good time in the 50s...man i miss it...oh well ...back to reality.

  • @pharaoh531 exscuse me but you are in reality this isnt a fantasy

  • @birdoben50 Sometime you don't know if your fantasy is the reality...such as dreaming,is your dreams your reality or the fantasy your real life. Think about this...can you really remember the day you knew you were you? But all in all love the song, and most oldies.

  • I'm 14, and how much i would love to be in the 50's, have $5.00 go to a diner, and get the old glass bottled coke, and a burger, still have plenty of money for a kid, and best of all, the girls, not the yuppy girls of today who have to stay in line with styles. back then the girls had dignity and dressed amazingly, come to think of it, so did the boys and everyone else. it was amazing. one of the best things though, was the scene of American pride!!

  • @axack9 You are so right. Im 14 and I agree with you so much. But id say Australian pride cause im Australian.

  • @axack9 yup, back when when all the girls didnt dress like sluts, the cars were beautiful, the economy was better, and yea, there were some racial issues, but the culture was richer, and the music was a hell of a lot better

  • @axack9 I'm only 12 and i'm listening to it I also love the 50's greaser style because that's how me and my friend dress.

  • @mattyhitch1980 In most schools that'd look like you were looking for trouble. Because that's what it meant back then. :l

    I'm fourteen, by the way.

  • @axack9 Im 2 and I want to go to 1800s am I cool now?

  • @jasperwoods

    no. the 1800's sucked

  • @axack9 I know same here, but appriciate what we have now. Some day in the year 2070 right now will be so old and vintage. People are going to say "I wish things were like they were in the '10's. Back when music was better than what we have now, and back when they sold soda in little cans for only $2. Girls dressed with such dignity and boys knew how to treat a girl." Because who knows how MORE messed up the future will be. We got it pretty good right now.

  • @BriannaBlog Maybe, maybe not, Hard to predict which way things will go in the future. It might revert to the way things were in the 50s in some ways while in other ways it might change in ways we couldn't imagine. Or it might not. In 2070 I'll be pushing 90, so I just hope I'm still around then. But with medical advancements, I might live to be 150.

  • @BriannaBlog Agreed. I love music/movies and hearing about how it was back in the day, but I hate hearing people complain how it is now; you gotta work with what you got! ;)

  • @cottoneyepodflowers I know, right? Or when people complain that there's too much technology, but can you imagine what it's going to be like decades from now? An ipad will be laughed at! Also all the cars that we see around us are going to be vintage and classic one day. 50 years from now in 2061 people are going to be like "Yep, I have a 2011 mustang, it's pretty sweet."

  • @axackI'm going to my nana's funeral and I'm going to get a suit.. The main reason for the suit is because I'm a classy guy and I want to let people know I am.. And god dammit no matter how hard I'm getting a Shubert Beverly (a car)and a 50's themed house!

  • @ThaChoppah Ni0ce Mafia II reference with the Shubert,but it's based on a 56 Bel Air

  • @axack9 Cept you made 50 cents an hour.

  • Chief, you're an exception to the vastly expanding rule.

God bless you, the world is growing exponentially crappy

don't lose faith, i hear heaven is just like the gosh darn 50's

  • @axack9 you got it right on honey, and the mom's dressed like Lois Lane. At Smitty"s drugstore a coke was 5 cents, cherry coke was 6 cents and the older kids would drink quarts of Schlitz beer around the mailbox outside. Then they ride off on the cushman motor scooters!!

  • luv the song, but, not the sit-com HAPPY DAYS. Wolfman Jack brings back memories of central Ca. in the summer in the 60's,We would always have sailors at our house from the nearby Lemoore NAS. My brother-n-law wd visit my sis and he always brought 5or 6 guys who were hanging around the gates for rides, anywhere! So they came to us,Mom wd. feed them and drive the back in the wee hrs. we always listened to Wolfman driving the hot country roads in desolate areas, brings back memories.

  • Oh my god... John Milner.. mmm SO unbelievably handsome.

  • Aswsome song, the 50's and 60's era was the best age of America, it would have been better if we had no racism or discrimination against gays

  • I need a timemachine! Delorean FTW

  • What are the cars in the beginning of the video?

  • @lakers101g111

They're all cars in American Graffiti. They are:

    1958 Chevy Impala

    1932 Ford Deuce Coupe

    1955 Chevy Bel-Air

    1957 Ford Thunderbird

  • @lakers101g111 Ford T-Bird and Chevy Bel-Air

  • Proud pittsburgh doowop...heard it was recorded in a church basement

  • Aww this is the song John Lennon, age 16, sang at the village fete where he met Paul...except he forgot the words and sang "Down down down down to the, penatentury" :DD I Love John :)

    *Excuse spelling lol

  • 80's rock

  • @camopreacher this is 50's rock

  • My older brother gave me a pair of his PLADE pants. Wore them every day, washed them, ironed them, til they wore out. They made me feel so COOL. Had a Duck Tail hairdo, walked downtown. - 2 Girls whlistled at me, I got scared, went home, talked to my brother,he laughed, said that's what happens bro, when you can't fill them, but y

  • we should all pool are money together and buy like half a state and just turn it back to these times 50 60 and up until Elvis died in 77 era. I promise to do this if i ever get rich and you are all welcome to come and live there.

  • @BacchusHaze banning import of foreign cars?? count me in!

  • @BacchusHaze

Alright man i'm in! I have like $500 lol

  • @BacchusHaze That's an amazing idea i hope that happens.

  • @BacchusHaze Only if copy the good things. I like not having being a house wife, or facing sexual harassment in the work place, or not being able to marry a minority, let alone face many of the other social injustices that plagued that era.

As for the music, clothes and even some television/films...I'd love to have it back.

  • Stand By Me... Great Song, Great Movie

  • anyone just blank out for a second and say "I fucking love this song!" lol !

  • We should all get together and go to the 1950's, just to see what it's like.

  • @xZippy38 Wish that was possible....D:

  • @okellydokelly he was in American Graffiti, a very popular movie from the 70's that was about the 50's. That is where most of there pictures are from

  • The music formula: Increase of time = Decrease of music quality

  • @xZippy38 that makes no sense, in that case there would be better music before the early Egyptians than in the 50's.

  • Joe vs The Volcano!

  • @okellydokelly Because he was in "American Graffiti."

  • Nice cars

  • One of the best songs to come out of the 1950's!

  • OMG, I love the cars,(57' Chevy) the music, I Love Lucy. My Grandmother tells me so much stories. Fascinating.

  • Love this music.

  • not one dislike, that is the first time ive seen that

  • Here' some "golden" trivia about this song. When John Lennon had a band called The Quarrymen, he was singing this song and forgot the lyrics. When he substituted "Come with me to the penitenuary" during a live performance, guess who was in the audience, brought there by a friend Ivan? It was Paul McCartney and that's how him and John Lennon met!

  • What a beautiful song

  • 15 and hate the music today. My folks had awesome music.

  • think its come, not dum

  • dum dum dum dum, dum bee doo bee dum

  • @UserOfCommonSense you missed a dum

  • People who love this music and hate all of the SHIT that's heard on the radio today, need to Come and Go With the 1950s!!!

  • @BullworthPinUpGirl im 32 but grew up with this music, so much better then todays crap, but still listen to the new stuff. pretty much listen everything.

  • @overbrookXXX yeah I guess but if copyright was strictly enforced, youtube would be nothing but that one girl singing Friday

  • Stand By me Loved the movie and of course this song

  • One of those 50's songs that played a part in the formation of the Beatles. Fourteen year old Paul McCartney went to see the Quarrymen play and saw one charismatic boy in the front who couldnt remember the words to this song = John Lennon.

  • cars from the 50's are so BADASS.....

  • Awesome. Kudos! American music would never sound the same without the amazing rich, generous (often stolen) contribution and influence by black artists. Here's a fine example. THANKS for posting.

  • @DigitalLazarus I think the real borrowers were the ones across the Atlantic, they needed the rock'n'roll rebellion more than we did. They were in a state of tea drinking living death, with an inbred monarchy siphoning the taxes. Like George Harrison said in 1964 "They've got everything over there, what do they want us for?"

  • @TheAmericanOriginal - Your reply may be true when it comes to the UK being influenced by American Blues, Pop, Jazz, etc. I was referring to our fellow Americans pilfering the genius of her own black artists and sanitizing original material for a segregated audience. Everything from Pat Boon (yikes!), Elvis to the Beach Boys. As far as your view of post-WWII Britain, you may wish to check your facts as they are somewhat distorted. I suggest reading "Life" by Keith Richards as a great start....

  • @DigitalLazarus "Somewhat distorted" could easily translate to "just being my opinion". But thank you for being relatively patriotic when replying to my reply :)
