Excellent. Makes me desperate tos ee the show. When I do, I hope the stars are as full of life as these talented kids. Would love to get the complete video.
I'll try to be brief....the most complicated part of the story line is that it occurs in reverse chronological order...it starts with composer franklin shepard giving a commencement speech at the college he went to....in then gradually goes back in time showing significant points in shepard's life....it does this for the purpose of showing how he becaming so enamoured by his on success that he ended up losing those closest to him and ending up very lonely...for more detail go to wikipedia
Brilliant! Well done, and thanks for posting these extracts from your production. Keep up the good work with Sondheim - wish more of our schools and societies in the UK would perform his shows.
The vid guy used 2 cameras on one night and 2 on another. Instead of "him" choosing the final shots... the director "sat in" and directed the editing session[s], carefully picking-and-choosing the camera angles. Not only does it "read" like a pro-movie, but it's WAY more interesting! I touched-up the audio to make it all "seamless."
Very well done. :-) It's such a pleasure to see productions of this play. I remember my theater teacher telling us how proud he was to be "blessed with the right cast" to do this. Apparently, Sondheim regarded it as one of his works that were more difficult to produce... But you guys did well! Bravo!
Fantastic! These kids are so talented and so professional, they rival many on Broadway right now. The NYT (orig. review, Frank Rich, Nov.,1981) said this tune '...may be the show's richest song...' and this trio brings those riches home, on the money!! Beautifully designed, directed & produced. Class A!
Oh, how I love this song. Thanks for uploading this.

This was wonderful. I'm still mystified at the set designs in your productions, though.
