The first is composed by Dan Schutte in 1981 after Vatican Council II. Its words are based on Isaiah 6:8 and 1 Samuel 3. The song was then published by North American Liturgy Resources and was later purchased by New Dawn Music, a subsidiary of Oregon Catholic Press.
Despite its Catholic origins, the hymn is often sung in many Protestant worship services as well, particularly services that are contemporary rather than traditional in structure and format.
I recently had the pleasure of having dr Hightower direct a concert of mine, and I have to say he is by far the best director I have had out of my three years in this concert.
Wonderful job! The entire piece is just beautiful and the dynamics are just right. Thanks for posting.

This was sung at my grandmother's funeral--- she was 100 at her death. It is an inspirational hymn and I LOVE this version.

oh and Stephen Uhl was the pianist

It is the arrangement by Ovid Young, the Love Divine was arranged by Mack Wilberg, that was the piece before it on the optional list

I'm pretty sure this is an arrangement by Ovid Young not Mack Wilberg from the St. Olaf Choral Series edited by Anton Armstrong and John Ferguson.
