@goldencrook ok, i get ur point, but honestly, ur bashing a lot of great wrestlers, japan is great, but ur just a fucking mark, chris jericho is great now, did u see his match with evan bourne, he could make a fucking 5 star match with him, di u see cm punk vs jeff hardy last year, that was also fucking great, undertaker vs hbk, say what u want, but i'm sure undertaker and shawn michaels can still do it in the fucking ring
@aachhu1112 i didn't say i was taking meltzer's opinion as gospel. but thanks for totally judging me on a couple of sentences on youtube! awesome! as i said "to put this in PERSPECTIVE". it was just an observation that he had a hell of a lot of great matches. more than most. that's all i'm saying. jeez.....chill. i don't think meltzer's right about everything either.
@NXTNextGeneration@goldencrook A lot of the WWE guys are good/great and I've seen a lot of awesome matches over the years. The WWE Style is just different from Japan. --- Also come on dude no possible way Jericho was better in Japan the guy was green as hell.
your an idiot if you think jericho wasnt better in japan come on hes so much bigger and bloated he cant do half the stuff he used hes still good but nowhere near as good as he used to be but nobody is look at the stars now edge hardy jericho they all used to be good wrestlers that did interesting moves now they do kicks and punches and there matches are still alright but they arnt nearly as good
@lorieoclare Not idiotic to think such a thing at all. If you want to say he was much more athletic back then and was able to do more things - that's fine. If you're going to try and convince me that he was a better storyteller in and outside of the ring and overall wrestler then it's just not going to work.
@lorieoclare chris jericho made a huge impact to wwe, he made great feuds, and his matches with benoit, undertaker, kane, edge, and others over the years were fucking epic, he could make a five star match with anybody, his best match of all time was his with HBK, and did u see his match with evan bourne a few months ago, chris jericho can still do highflying moves obiously u dont watch wwe so how the hell would u know
@goldencrook haha, u just used the worst people in wwe like cena, batista, i hate those guys, thank god batista is leaving in a few months for acting, and u forgot about great wrestlers like undertaker, rey mysterio, cm punk, chris jericho, and randy orton even
look at wwe stars compared to these guys. these guys look normal, like they dont take pills. and wwe stars look druged. yet, these guys perform so much better.
Misawa had 24 5-star matches in his career. Also, 5 times had the match of the year. To put this in perspective, the entire WWE has had 4 matches of the year in its entire history. Misawa eclipses this ON HIS OWN! Probably the best in-ring performer of all time, as far as match quality goes. He will be sorely missed.
@plench According to Meltzer. Most of those "five-star" matches don't hold up and several are plain boring. Taking one guy's opinion as gospel is plain stupid. Especially on something as utterly subjective as match quality or MOTY status.
Of course, that doesn't apply to this particular match. This is possible the greatest match ever.
Actually weight limits mean a hell of a lot more in Japan then they do in America and Juniors aren't looked at as high as the Heavyweights. They need to build up some Heavyweight talent because the Juniors just don't draw as highly as Heavyweights.
@MrWrestlingFan But Misawa (regardless of where he wrestled) was small, small enough to be a lightweight guy. And hes one of the strongest draws ever in Japan.
randon question. Does anybody see a resemblance in Dragonball Z characters here where Kobashi resembles Goku & Misawa resembles Vegeta? For some reason I see this. But either way. At least this exists as a proper alternative to Mainstream American Wrestling. It doesn't matter how many years pass since the match happened. Japanese wrestling matches are the type of matches you get your kids & grandkids hooked onto, lol.
If he was bald & had a handle-bar Stanche, Taue would probably be Nappa (If he was in this match, Yoshihiro Takayama would be Broly). But from the sounds of it, we all agree. Kobashi is Goku in real life, lol
Japanese pro wrestlers are great role models. They carry themselves with great honor and respect for self and others. Their Fighting Spirit represents the 'never give up' attitude, which is a great lesson of life. Misawa, Kobashi, Mutoh, these are the guys I grew up admiring because they treated pro-wrestling with respect and gave it great value. That's why people look up to them to this day. It's all about respect and admiration.
um hey i just wanted to say thank you so much for posting these amazing japan matches! I sit possible that you could post every match that meltzer gave 5 stars to in japan? If not then could you post all the tag matches between these two teams because they have had 4 different 5 star matches! thnx a lot
I WILL be uploading more 5 Star Matches in the future but most of the time I just upload what I feel like uploading. Sometimes I'm just lazy and upload a match I think is fun and sometimes I feel in the mood to cut a LONG awesome match into 5 or 6 parts.
Also on the rare occasion someone sends me a PM to upload something I'll do it.

Well that certainly is a unique way of looking at it.

No way, Misawa is totally Piccolo, Kawada on the other hand, sure does seem like a Vegeta. And what about Taue?

@Jikk kawada had Vegeta's attitude that's for sure. As for Taue, no idea, though probably a bad ass villain.
