“When I hear new music coming into my head, its mission is integrated into its notes. It basically tells me how it wants to be.” – John McLaughlin. From Page 1 of the book “Follow Your Heart – John McLaughlin song by song.”
Guitarist Carl Orr: "I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Follow Your Heart - John McLaughlin song by song.” The descriptions of the music are great, and I particularly enjoy those inspired moments when the author abandons literal description and describes the music in vivid, sometimes surreal imagery."
I saw the Hammer/Goodman band (two black guys on drums and bass.)open for somebody , and doesn't that say something? I don't remember the headline, but surely remember this funky outfit. Any idea where to find some recorded stuff by them? Thanks.
Only post-MO Hammer/Goodman material on a label that I know of is "Like Children", which has Hammer on keyboards and drums, and Goodman on violin and electric guitar. No other musicians that I can remember. Are you sure it wasn't Steve Kindler on violin? They toured as the Jan Hammer Group and may have produced an album. I saw them at the Cellar Door in DC.
Thanks for your info j. It led me to Amazon for a 7$ download of a 1975 show in N.Y. I truly believe this was the tour I caught at the Mich. Palace in Det. Thanks again.
you've enlightened me, vjohn82. I always thought that only fish and chips munchers enjoying there single brain cell are devoted listeners of the Pixies. Now you've showed me that their fan base even extends to monads. Well done, pal. It's always a pleasure hearing music written in 4/4.
Crikey... a German trying to take the piss out of British food. That's saying something. Hey... I do respect you Germans though... I mean you tried twice didn't ya ;-)
good educational system, even the most modest minds seem to know it. awe-inspiring. unfortunately the Germans haven't been as succesful as the Empire when leaving British-India and establishing one of most peaceful, heavenly regions on this planet earth. Whose arse was licking Chamberlain avec plaisir ?
Lol... you are regurgatating the old Chamberlain appeasement myth again which obviously implies all British people are somehow gullible.
That's rich coming from a country where it was convinced of Aryan supremacy; I mean really... the idea that Germanic blonde hair/blue eyes is best espoused by a brown haired/brown eyed Austrian. OF COURSE... it must be the British who are gullible... not.
Amazing.... sausages and beans? Who eats that? Considering the German equivalent I think the Brits win that one. But hey... you Germans like the Brits so much... so much that you tried to invade a few times ;-)
What a shame - as far we do it all on video instead on real film, the tone stays - the colors are leaving ... Interesting sreensavers for the next generations ...

This is essentially the same band that recorded Electric Dreams, the One Truth Band. If you don't have that record go get it right away!

@ vjohn82: rightly said, dude. go ahead, shit your pants and keep listening to the pixies

Hey at least the Pixies make their music sound "different" to the rest. John McCraplin makes every song sound shite.

gullible enough to believe that sausages and beans make a tasteful breakfast.
But then, wee-john82, a very final remark (non multa, melody in 4/4): And dance by the light of the moon.

Looking back, I like this band perhaps the best of all Johns lineups. Why not let us imbed Brian? Either way, thanks for the post.
