  • I'm Parisian and It's true that a lot of parisians are rude but I don't think they don't want to speak english they just can't.

France is a very retarded country with the English language. And everybody hates parisians even french people, I guess we deserve it. Sorry for my english :)

Carry speaks a pretty good french !

  • It's true. I get the same treatment when I was there. They just pretend not knowing English so that u try to speak French. And they are really rude about it.

  • I've never seen this !!

  • that's why i love the french

  • she should have got all Brokiing on her. Hell, NO!!!! bitch. LOL

  • is that a deleted scene? i dont remember this part at all

  • I would have been like " Um, are you dumb or..? "

  • Comment removed

  • That's actually not uncommon - I've heard from quite a few people who say that French shop assistants pretend they don't speak English at first and dilberately act dumb so that you have to struggle away

  • I wanna kill this fucking bitch! If you know the language and you know this person is struggling you should help them out...

  • The mean french cliché, so good. Although once I've seen american tourists go to a library in the 6th arrondissement that was specialised in the cinema. They talked only english and expected the salesman to understand them and he was really sorry he couldn't understand them, they were very angry and making fun of him it was disgusting... So sometimes tourists are already mean and judgemental...

  • what a bitch that sales lady is!

  • Blandine de Sous le Soleil ?

  • is this a cutted scene????

  • AWW.... this has to be a stereotype, are all french people in Paris rude? No I can not bring myself to believe it. I hear this everywhere and it gets played a lot.

  • The same happens in american stores with tourists, trying to speak English....I have seem this happened.

  • I think it goes both ways guys, i have seen this happened at the Dior Store in Miami, FL...where tourist (French) would come and try to speak English, and the sales associates just look at them...like what???? lol is funny. I am glad I speak 5 languages....and I do work for Armani and I do help my customers in their native language....but not all French people are mean and rude. Maybe is cause I understand them and speak their language when I go to Paris. It helps.

  • @hlatino03 But, that sales lady understood her for sure. She was just being a snob. Carrie was speaking it really coherently. I am French and I could understand perfeclty well, therefore so could that woman.

  • arrogant and superbe french bitch

  • elle parle super bien le Français .; Carrie I LOVE YOUUUUU

  • hehe, i've never seen that bit before. good old UK syndication!

  • disgusting parisians

  • geniale!! adooooooro Carrie!!

  • great series: if you can´t have quality sex, just spend all your money on the companies who dropped millions on merchandise to the director...

  • i think its really rude that she said carrie like one time with accent soo she can understand her twice but toooo funny! lol

  • "Ah, oui, boom!"

  • Haha she bent over right in front of that lady.

  • jejejejejejeje poor carrie , she is nice !!

  • French people are EXACTLY like this! Snotty and rude. Many of them know how to speak English but choose not to, even when the English person is struggling to communicate with them.

  • Not all of us, but some, I agree. SATC is an american tv show, and americans like to see the french exactly like they imagine us, it is also true. This episode is just a series of "clichés" about Paris and the french.

  • Yeah, you're right.

  • Some of them certainly are like you said. But not all the French people. Ben and I are the proof that some of us speak in English, and are not rude and stupid, and... Bad and evil people.

I'm sure you Americans are not all fat. It's the same thing. Just don't believe in clichés... It's too easy.

  • I never said that French people are "bad and evil" or "stupid".

Yes, of course I was generalizing - not all French people (well, I had Parisians more in mind, really) are rude. I have met friendly people on my numerous trips to France, but the majority of them, I'm sorry to say, were rude and unhelpful (my French isn't perfect). I didn't say that because of a cliche, I said it because of my own experiences.

But I suppose I was generalizing a bit much.

And I'm not American, by the way.

  • I loved your comment! In the context of what's been said the last line is the most fun! :)

By the way, I have had the same experience in France and would agree that with some exceptions people in Paris are rude and not willing to help.

  • Carrie est tombée.

  • poor carry!

  • I fell........Carrie very lovely:)

  • the part where she feel in Dior was embarrassing!! Also the fall on the runway. I understood some of Carrie's dialogue I'm learning French! Beautiful language.

  • Yeah, I actually figured it out and realized that I'd seen her in a french soap I used to watch ages ago; "Sous le soleil". Thanks a bunch anyway! <3

  • Does anybody know the name of the french actress in this scene? She's not credited anywhere and I cannot for the life of me remember where I've seen her before. Please, please, please; if you know her name, help me out here!

  • Dear Tiny..

she's Marie-Christine Adam, also in the cast of "Priceless", a French movie with Audrey Tautou.

Un abbraccio from Italy - Naples,

    Eliana.

  • Thank you very much, Eliana, you're a lifesaver!

  • Kisses!!

    ;-)

  • Further to my post below, is this a deleted scene? I'm a big SATC fan but I don't recall ever seeing this scene before! (And despite that I understood exactly what Carrie tried to say!) I'll also mention that I've travelled to both Rome and Paris, but the French were MUCH nicer to me than the Italians were! An odd reversal of stereotypical assumptions. Maybe the Parisians were nicer because I could speak French, who knows, but I experienced none of the supposed Italian warmth & kindess!!!

  • lover her outfit

  • I Love this show ! And the movie is just amazing !

  • I'm french and I must say that Carrie speaks very well, it's not my case when i'm not in my country ! But this woman in the show is just a stereotype, all french people or parisians are not like that, if I can reassure you. Some of us are like that because they are egocentric persons. Some Parisian feel superior to the others because they live in a very known city and because that rises to them to the head (there is no reason), but it is doubtless the case in numerous countries, unfortunatly.

  • I'm Canadian & I speak French too, and Carrie did speak French quite well there. Her grammar was correct for the most part and I understood exactly what she was trying to say. And at the end of the day, if someone were truly trying like she was to speak the language of the country she was in, they definitely shouldn't be mocked or looked down upon!

  • @dragons7764 You're right, & French aren't like that at all, are happy (like others) if some1 does the effort to speak their language: I think it's more a sort of "mockery" done on purpose by the director...Ciao ;-)

  • and THAT i why one cannot go to Paris unless one speak parisian french PERFECTLY

    I love Paris

    I hate the natives

  • I obviously know SJP. Who is the other actress? What's her name?

  • roman shopgirls can be the same way???in italy we are so friendly and of course you can find someone like this woman but...

  • Can anyone tell me where I can get the bag she is carieing that season? it's here dior bag with a hole in it! I love that bag!!!!

  • I really love it when people who gets 8€ for an hour acts this way

  • For this reason I've chosen to study italian! Although I have to admit, Roman shopgirls can be the same way.

  • What you just said is really, I'm sorry, stupid.

"I'm learning Italian, because French salers seem so bitchy in my favourite TV show, so I'm not learning French !"

Gosh, that was one of the most stupid comment i've ever seen on this website.

It's my first living-year in Paris, and it is just BETTER than I had imagined it...

    Paris (L)

  • That's really funny xD it's a deleted scene isn't it ?

The actrice is famous in France. But Carrie speak well french , I understand perfectly her , The Woman is just a fucking parisian old bitch xD

  • I am an american girl living in Paris> I don't have any friends and i am not comparing myself at all to Carrie AKA

SJP, but I understand how she feels. Are there any other american girls watching this and can understand the way I feel?

  • Yes, I feel the same, I am an anglosaxon living in Paris and it is the same thing sometimes here...

  • hey marracbod are you still in Paris without any friends ?

  • I think this is classic Carrie. She's so awkward sometimes, and we all still love her and root for her...because there's a little bit of that part of Carrie in all of us!

  • This is a fucking bitch!!! poor Carrie, she's trying to speak french and this bitch looks her like shit ¬¬ french are chic, but sometimes they are too: "im french...fuck everybody else" but i still love paris... NO NO,it isn't a question hahahahxD

  • LOL, I love it. That is all about class and elegence. I just can't believe she fell in Dior also. That is a no no.

  • try snapping a jimmy choo and falling down a short flight of stairs in front of chanel! I had to get knee surgery for that,.

  • Aah, oui, BUM! :D

  • I think she meant BOOM! LOL. But I think that's what you meant as well. ; )

  • In french is BOUM ! xD

  • BOUM ?

  • XD I admit some Parisians are really like that even with the country french but it is not the majority.

  • That lady is my hero...I love her..maybe because I am very much like her!!!aahh!ah!

  • Well the "lady" who is only a sales woman is unpolite and stupid...she behave like if she just do not have in mind that her salary come from people like Carrie. I would not like to sound rude...but I have seen a lote that attitude in France...they refuse to speak english to the tourist.

  • I was in Paris at New Years. I bought French computer lessons a few months ahead and downloaded a podcast (the french ecole, highly recommend, the lady on the tape is REALLY nice). I found in Paris that if you make an effort to speak the language, they will be as accommodating as they can, except for 1 snot at a museum who laughed at me when I said Au Revoir badly. He was the only jerk I met. Others were very nice, and appreciated my attempts to speak French. A smile speaks all languages.

  • Oh, I hated that woman. she's so snobbish, I mean, why she didn't tell Carrie she could speak English.

  • ¿pero esta escena la quitaron, no?

  • SHE FELL IN DIOR!!! OMG!!!

  • Géniale ! Bien mieux en VO ! Quelle pourriture cette vendeuse!

  • c'est marrant d'entendre carrie parler Francais !!!

    elle parle bien !

    congratulation !

  • Oui, la version française des deux derniers épisode gâche tout...

  • alors pour cela il faudrait que les francais soient tous parfaitement bilingues avec l'anglais ce qui est loin d'etre la cas

  • oh, totally unseen! brilliant!

  • carrie shows stuff :) i still love her

  • THAT LADY IS A BITCH !

  • son escenas ineditaaaaaas!

  • Yes, I've never seen this scene either. Love it.

  • AH! DIOR! Love it.

  • omg poor Carrie, she fell at DIOR's!!!

  • yeah please upload more i never saw it

  • are there more cut scenes like this? lol! I love it!

  • never saw this scene before. I dont think its on the UK Dvd
