This is a cover of I Can Understand It, written and originally performed by Bobby Womack. New Birth did a cover of it and The Root's version is based on THAT cover.
agree 100%, the Roots were the best performers I have ever seen live, not just playing their own tunes, but all the covers and random jamming makes it so great. True talent!
The Roots live is unbelievable. 1st time i met Knuckles and Cptn Kirk...so it was a huge bonus. the 2nd time i was 3 rows from the stage, and when they were done i walked up and somehow got to shake Black Thoughts hand....later that night, Erykah Badu walked into audience while singing....and she walked up to me, and took my hand so i could help her stand ontop of my seat lol....it was great. very cool show.
best concert i've ever seen in my life. So much fun. My brother knocks me cus i've seen them 3 times but i say fuck it. It'd be stupid to pass them up when they come to town.
dude, this is exactly what i love about the roots so much. their studio work has produced one great hip hop album after another...and then you see them live, which is when you realize what geniuses they are. i saw them at bonnaroo 07 and it was indescribably amazing. theyve created this wonderful jazz/hip hop fusion that i know i'll be seeing again
lol someone saying that is bobby womack! dude is like 64 years old, and those who say its not black thought obviously haven't seen the roots live, that is BT come on yall!
no.. that is black thought.. hence ?uestlove and the rest of the roots in the background. i seen him sing a few lines at the roots show this year in australia.
Original song is by Bobby Womack...Later covered by New Birth..Get it right folks
