  • The giants used to scare me as a kid

  • The conversation between Puddleglum, Eustace and Jill was probably a better bit of acting than anything in the entire Disney Narnia series so far. That's pretty sad..

  • It's been a while since I've read Silver Chair, but when did they run into a dragon?

  • Thanks! This is the essence of the books, never mind the special effects. In a stage production they would be considered magnificent. New tech doesn't always produce good films when the authors can only show war to fill the gaps of imagination, or even replace joy and dance with yet another battle. Why should the 4 children have liked to be in Narnia so much if all they ever met there was hunger. fear and battle? Why do filmmakers leave out all the fun and make you buy the special ed. for more?

  • How many of you are watching this in 2011? XD

And thank you for putting these up! I love it so much :)

  • @ghostgirlXmcr I'm in 2111 and watching it too.

  • haha I forgot how flighty and full of bobbance puddleglum was lol

  • My favourite Narnia book and I love this adaptation. I remember watching it as a very young child on television. Wonderful. Thank you for uploading.

  • I agree with Gill for wanting the bow and arrows. If Puddleglum and Ustis have swords, it's only fair and logical she has the bow and arrows so that way everyone has a main weapon. A knife wont help her in a fight if her enemy has a blade that's bigger then hers- an arrow can keep the enemies away from her.

  • That was one heck of a river

  • I LOVE Puddleglum. He's one of my favorite characters. :)

  • haha the other marshwiggles say puddleglum doesnt take life seriously enough

  • LOL this makes it seem like he's dead!

  • Howcome puddleglum doesnt look like a frog, infact a marsh wiggle, their feet should be webbed aswell as their hands, well this is old and they had shitty ASS props :P

  • If Jill's in Narnia to deal with her arrogance, as perhaps Lewis's nodding homage to George MacDonald's Phantastes, then Jill's looking like she's going to be in Narnia to the ages of ages! lol

  • I LOVE Tom Baker as Puddleglum. They should stick tradition and get another Doctor to play him in the new version. lol

  • So, Jill took Lucy's knife? But she wants Susan's bow and arrows?

  • 2:05 - 2:22

Good grief Puddleglum, what are you spooked about? You live in a swamp, for pete's sake!

  • puddleglum makes less and less sense as he goes

  • puddleglum makes less and less sense X)

  • The Doctor as Puddleglum ... win!

  • I don't think there is anywhere in the world where anyone exclaims 'EARS!' as well as in 5:45. It is freaking priceless. EARS!!!!!

  • wOW This girl who plays Jill Pole was the best addition to the cast till now. Lovin' her

  • man, i want to see jill useing a bow and arrows.

    It's not fair!!!!

  • beware of bouncing rocks!!!

  • just imagine if the doctor was like puddleglum lolol, he'd never get any companions

  • poor puddle guy!

  • OMG!! It's Tom Baker!!

  • Puddleglum? Flighty? As in jolly? You're joking?

  • I find the locations in this version to be better than in the Disney movies, more like they're described in the book, less flashy and more mysterious.

  • @DelorienAz Mmm. Many of these are in Scotland, etc. So you get to see lots of good old Scottish, hilly, landscapes.

  • just take the dagger u idiot pole

  • Would it not be quicker just to take the Tardis Baker?? LOL

  • Puddleglum walking with that stick reminds me of Gandalf in the first Lord of the Rings movie

  • i love these lol even though it ent verry good there still better than the new films

  • Tom Baker was perfect at this role. Im looking forward to the Disney version but I which both the BBC and Disney would cover the other novels (Magician's Nephew, Horse and his Boy and Last Battle too)

  • I mean 'wish'

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 iwonder why they never do?

  • @karateka8

a goodquestion. It could be because the studios think those stories would be harder to market... spend a budget on and so on. The Last Battle is quite complex so I can appreciate that being hard to pu on screen but I can envisage The Horse and his Boy.

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 I'd like to see Magician's Nephew done. That would be good. I think the Last Battle is probably seen as too sad but even so I'd like to see them all done for once.

  • @icekat83

I would as well; I think the whole concept of the coloured rings and so on could be done. The Last Battle may be too complex to adapt to screen.

Hell I might become a director myself just to make them all!

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 No. I would much rather Disney sell the rights and let a company that knows what they're doing make the next Narnia movies. Especially HAHB, my favorite one.

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 I couldn't watch the new Narnia movies I'm too attached to these ones. I will try but that doesn't mean I'll like it.

  • i love this shit have em all

  • Sounds like eustace said the following at 2:34: Cheer up ho, some giants in narnia are friendly.

Yeah, I'am just looking for trouble with this one.

  • It's "Pole", her surname.

  • I love these movies so much!!!

the silver chair will always be my favourite (=

and puddleglum reminds me of snape a little at times =/

  • i don't think puddleglum is a alien

  • it's meant to be a strange creature in the books that lives in the wet marshes. unfortunately the bbc didn't have the expertise at the time (see the doctor who episodes around that period!) and so it was just a bloke with a big hat!

  • indeed- he is a 'Marshwiggle'

  • no no no!!!i dont like it !!! the best are andrew adamson and michael apted!!! i love narnia with all my heart but it is really horrible!!!

  • These movies follow the books better than Adamson's adaptation...

  • Puddleglum are funny think I

  • "Lets get packed.. then were're off"

lol... the way he verbally and physically deflated at the end, was priceless !

  • I love the dragon! Eustace Clarence Scrubb got turned into one in Dawn Treader! That's why he knows a thing or two about dragons!

  • since when was there a dragon? lol

  • isn't the guy with the hat the voiceover guy from little britain

  • I'm reading the book by now, I like puddleglum

but the bbc narnia doesn't have 5, 6 ad 7.

  • I remember no dragon from the book.

  • i like the way jill puffs up her bangs. how does one do that?

  • jut out your jaw so your bottom teeth sit further out then your top teeth, leaving a gap, and let your lips stick up, making a gap about half a centimeter between your lips, then blow, and voila', you too can puff your bangs!

(my mum used to get up me for doing it to sass her when she was telling me off :P)

  • ROFL the dragon

  • ok those giants look better than the disney version giants! apart from that disney wins with the more realistic talking animals . but those giants r awesome!

  • the dragon scene didn't happen in the book xD

  • One of the giants looks like George Lucas. LOL!

  • I loved Puddleglum's "we're off." at 1:17.

  • I know, he sounds SO excited! lol

  • Hehe, the perfect anticlimax.

  • lol

  • do you have the entired movie?

  • I loved Tom Baker as the 4th Doctor and l just think he is a great actor in whatever he does

  • yeah, i could just picture him living in a blue box instead of a tent and that he's actually an alien

  • I was surfing about on Wikipedia, and discovered Mr. Baker had been puddleglum. after some searching I found this and had a fangirl episode....

  • you are not the only one who had a fan girl episode lol ^.^ he's just the best

  • He could not say

    -Where of.

    Any better

  • i LOVE the silver chair! it was my favourite book and my favourite film!

ang puddleglum is my favourite character ever. i just adooooore him.

btw i agree the white witch in the new film just isnt the white witch... shame

  • puddleglum used to scare the shit outta me when i was little!

  • Puddleglum really is an old dear. =)

  • Silver Chair had the best soundtrack of all, it was the first narnia movie I saw and remians the favorite with my brothers and I even now, over a decade later.

  • Iii... this was the first Narnia movie for me too, and I remembered it the best from all Narnia series :) But I also love The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Barbara as the White Witch is wonderful, the only true White Witch ever ;)

  • yes! its so true. The movie just wasn't right. Tilda-witch just didn't have the right emphasis "AND WHAT pray tell are YOU?" lol! "NNOOOOOOOO!...noo, you must wait till next time...next time! NEXT TIMEEE!"

  • My first episode seen too! And, as many other posting comments, I have remembered it best and I will continue to remember it as long as I live, at least I hope so ^^

  • Maybe, if you forget, you can watch it again.

  • I remember those giants scared the crap out of me when i first saw this.

  • puddleglum's pessimism is hilarious, it always makes me see everything much nicer than in reality, just because he says everything will go wrong ;)

  • the original murphy's law theorist

  • TVM!! I've been looking for this one!

  • I'll try to get the remaining chapters up asap!

  • @Atripple what is TVM?

  • @MADuranDude777 thanks very much
