@fuzzygreenduck - Lindsey not Lindsay. Danny Kirwan did a very good 'black magic woman' after Peter left, but had to play it with Bob Welch. Green and Kirwan were a hard act to follow.
@fuzzygreenduck - Each to his own. I'm not feeling it. I'm all for self-expression but Lindsay....uhh....uhh....uhh....uhh....What was that?!!....bloody hell....not cool. Not for me but the audience enjoyed it.
And besides do you think John McVie & Mick Fleetwood would even think of letting him perform it if they thought he was being disrespectful or if it was in poor taste....I don't think so
If Lindsey did a carbon copy of the song people would still say it was shit, & i'm sure he knew that it would never come close to the original, that's why he put a different spin on it...100% positive that he wasn't taking a piss on the original Peter Green version..I think he did a damn fine job considering that he did not have danny kirwan & jeremy spencer backing him...So yes i agree Peter Greens Oh Well will always be the best, but Lindsey Buckingham's is pretty damn good...
its rare an original can even be equaled, this is shit compared to Peter Green playing it. Listen to Green play it live + hear this classic played as it should be.-
Nasty version of "Oh Well". Not at all they way Peter Green intended for it to be played. The tacet stops were for effect and reflection not an opportunity to clown around. Maybe LB should play Chuck Berry's "My Dingaling" if he wants to muck about during a song. He's a much better player than this video represents. For a much better representation of "Oh Well" watch the Tom Petty posting by buzzardluck.
Look at the black and white film of Peter Green and Danny Kirwan playing 'oh well' in the original F.Mac. Watch carefully you'll see it's Danny Kirwan who plays all the guitar breaks in this song. Peter Green is brilliant of course. Lindsay is trying hard but can't come close to the likes of Peter Green or Danny Kirwan on this one.
@MusicalTree3 Lindsey Buckingham will never, never have the talent that Peter Green had. Peter was a one off. But does it matter as long as the audience enjoy it. Music is for enjoying. Live and let live
Thank you R0CKAH0L1C for posting I was there that night amazing concert, this just brought back so many Greg memories from such a great night, once again thank you :0)
Lindsey Buckingham has many fans and many who don't admire him; that is clear, but let us underststand that it is becoming harder to make money producing a record or would be a CD these days. A lot of veteran rock bands make most of their money touring or performing in concerts, that's just the way the business is these days, and you can't blame the musicians entirely.
@darkfey1963 I think a lot of those guys that use their thumbs instead of picks are under-appreciated. Toy Caldwell, Mark Knopfler, and hell Wes Montgomery. Any of those guys and Lindsey.
@Oszych2 What the hell! this is after all a Fleetwood Mac song, it is a Peter Green song but he hasn't been with the band in over 40 years. Mick Fleetwood and John Mcvie have rights to this song and Lindsey Buckingham wether by default or choice, is a great musician to cover for Peter Green.
WOW!!! Great video Rockahol1c!!! Besides it being such a kick-ass performance by LB, I love that he's in such a great mood, smiling a lot, and I love that you caught Linds and John at the end giving eachother props. NICE.

@R0CKAH0L1C
What do you burn for ? This asswhole sound like kids from your neighbor garage
and ineptly imitates someone's riff and for more take money for this.
Let you better listen to 40 years elder Mac and learn what "kicking ass" really is (:

@TheWd3829 Ok, you right after all. I agree with your post in 3/4.
I don't think Buckingham is great musician. For me he is just weak.
While haven't his own style, he swank with someone's else old riff.
He play messy and sing - no yell - out of tune.
Oszych2 7 months ago
@TheWd3829 Ok - it would be acceptable if he has some background and his own "kickin ass" stuff,
but he never create such a thing. For me it's making money from warming up old chop :/
Why they play agin and agin old stuff while not writing any new music ?
so in 3 words: It is disohnest.
Oszych2 7 months ago
@TheWd3829 Fleetwood and Mcvie have the rights to this song? Like shit do they, they've never written one fucking tune for Fleetwood mac.
Its Greeny's tune and Lindsey fucking butchers it big time.
