although i really believe that it's just dramatic license that every woman killy meets is "cibo" in the short films - they're quite experimental and strange to begin with, this is a technique also used in the italian horror film "delamorte dellamore" - an in-universe explanation is that the "logs" we're watching are fragmented relics of killy's own memories. since this data is corrupt, it is replacing all the females he meets with cibo, the most important female he knew.

This video is meaningless without the manga story line. This is just a bunch of data, maybe it could be simply called memories of the world of Blame!
The manga itself is a great story, but might be too hard to understand for younger ppl. I really suggest reading it ^_^. These logs afterward will look even more amazing.
the age nearly doesnt matter at blame inmo . it needs rather a detective like urge to analyze the comic, if one wants to grasp all that is possible to get. anyway I think despite the possibility one might not understand the world of blame, its definitely worth reading for the sake of its visual rebel style.
@PhaetonLT Weird... I read them when I was 14 and understood a lot of it :P (Still had to re-read a few times to really understand most of the storyline details.) But yeah, the animations really are just memories of Blame!; they're various memory logs from Cibo.
cont. fuck maybe she was working for the corp, got the sample from killy and went up to synthesize the nw genes they used to try to connect to th NS yea? ..then she got cloned or amnesia-rayed or some shit before she became president of the whatever see? all while killys still climbing the stairs like a dumbass..
One, but he have met an other one after the first time he met Main-Serv, the second is from an another world if I have definitely understood.
In the video the girl say that her name is Cibo, but in the manga, she don't say that, you can suppose that she's one of the numerous bodies that Cibo's had, but it's not certain.
-check it, so in th 2nd chapter, she says the inhabited level is 300 levels up right? and the section of megastructure with the corporation on it, including the bigass tower, is all supposed to be one level..
so between the 2nd and 3rd manga chapter, how many years have passed? theyre both pretty much immortal so prolly like a shitload.. so maybe that's where they met before-and how Cibo knows Killy's name @ the corporation without him ever telling her..
Yeah, sure, but the four bodies are all the same Cibo. The spirit stay the same even if the bodies aren't.
In the anime, it's not explained, Ryogasempai probably didn't read the manga otherwise he wouldn't have asked this question. In the Log.5 (anime) Killy meet an other Cibo, and it's not explained that she's a copy. Same thing for here, it's not sure that she's really Cibo, it's only a supposition. If Ryogasempai didn't read the manga, he can't know it.
Seeing as how log 4 has the manga chapter about the Gravity Furnace sending Killy and Cibo to a parallel dimension, and seeing as how the manga explains that death is not permanent in BLAME so long as your memories are stored as data, this Cibo is clearly either a revived Cibo from an older backup (since her data was probably lost the last time she died) or an alternate Cibo in which Killy travels through dimensions to find one where the NTGs have not been wiped out, getting closer each time.
Oops, I mean log 5 has the manga chapter about the Gravity Furnace, not log 4. The one where they're inside Toha heavy industries and Killy gets separated from Cibo in the alternate universe, only to run into the alternate Cibo who helps him kill the silicon life forms and find the Cibo from Killy's dimension, now in Sanakan's body.
Uhm...whoa, wait. O_o in the manga, this was like..in the beginning? e.e before he even met Cibo, riiight? xD is this a mess up? X_X...this web anime kinda makes it confusing now, lol. Anyhoo, cool music, and the art's amazing! ^_^"
this kind of manga/anime always fantasize me, just like akira and ghost in the shell. I'm really looking forward to see more of this kind of "futuristic anime"
Unless of course, reading mangas is not your cup of tea. I personally am not a big fan of comic books myself. If I were to read anything, it'll probably be a good book. I love animes that are confusing to watch; those are usually some of the better animated flicks that has replay value.

I've read this manga over and over, and yet I don't understand the purpose of the coelacanth (the fish). Any ideas?
Delirium757 2 years ago
a relic of the past maybe. like humans, biology. its already alien in our world, maybe thats the role it takes part of.

Four.
One is the (living) corpse of the original scientist, found in the catacombs of the company.
Two is the consciousness of the first in a new (and pretty) body, this one accompanies him for almost all the story in different versions.
Three is an alternate Cibo from the future.
Four is a Cibo who serves as vessel for net-terminal genes (or a combination of Cibo-Sanakan genes? not clear to me) which she carries in her womb.
I think that's all... (I'm no otaku by the way)

What the hell, if the manga wasn't confusing enough at times, they had to this to me.

Wow, these are even cooler to watch now that I've actually read the manga!
Even though the black and white contrast is a huge part of the style f BLAME!, I think it's neat to see some images colored.
Also the ambient music sounds nice and really adds to the desolate feel of the Megastructure.
I hope there will be more BLAME! coming out. Or that at least the prequels will reach Finland!

i loike how the music emphesises the loneliness of the place...although i do prefer the manga!!!
