Technically, they could - but I can't tell you if they would or not - you know your family the best. But is it's something you're worried about - just make sure you have with you the right numbers to call at all times.

your own parents only can compell you to marry the girl in pakistan and no any strage person will force you, all forced marriages are arranged by the parents even they will attach you with your own cousin.

@187Godhand2 advice to every person in your situation: be prepared. you never know if they will do sth.

find out the quickest way to the british embassy. make copies of your passport and carry it with you. may sound like a bit too much...but it is better to be safe than sorry.

and btw: yes, pakistani parents do that with boys too.

its a black male society. The parents make the children marry with emotional blackmail.etc ...and it is still happening it they realise the results later when the person who gets married realises what they really want. most of the marriages are farce.they pretend just to fit into the culture and society.If you say yoou are ostracise's from family and culture. Often the children at young age from 16-20 when one is just growing up.

This is so sad I knew a girl who refused to get married. She got fired from his family and she was told that she is death for them because of her action

Another approach would be for the organization to take steps to educate the parents in the UK and help them realize that they are destroying their children's lives.

I believe that force marriage is wronf. But once you (survivors) were forced to marry why didn't you try to understand or conform the situation. Because once you leave your home you would exchange your family to freedom. It is really choice matter. And you need to understand other part of the coin, your wife (husband) because she/he is involved to this matter...

Probably you can help a lot of women and girls and sometimes men too.

There should be a lot of more shelters though and much more severe punishments for fathers who force their children to marry.

It's one of the worst things you can do to anyone, in my view.
