@MegaMaverick1994 With all great directors like Kubrick and Scorsese there lists are always controversial. But It should be Fact that Memento is Nolans Best
@jtproduction01 Like I said the list can vary like all great directors can but to not put Memento in the top 3 is criminals. Thats like saying Goodfellas is Scorsese's 6th best film.
@3Axy10Est13 Its just memento has a lot of cursing, and i'm not a big fan of cursing, and it had a bunch of awkward lines. Also the guy who played Teddy, seemed out of place. I'm not saying it's bad, it's great, I loved how it's told backwards, but it's not Christopher Nolan's best.
@spacejesusadventure no im not twelve, i just don't like cursing when it doesn't fit. It's funny in hangover, but doesn't work in Memento. It's probably one of the reasons why he stopped doing r rated films.
Batman Begins destroys Memento. Prestige is far more amazing than Memento. Inception is maybe my favorite from him but really, they're all good. Memenoto to me was his least strong. It was his first. Good movie, but nothing compared to Batman Begins.
@awarlock82 Batman Begins is a superhero film that takes itself far too seriously. How seriously can you take a man saving people in a cape before it becomes ludicrous?? No no. Memento is a clever psychological film that is grounded much more in reality than Inception. Inception is great because it's just a bit of fun and is highly enjoyable, but Memento delivered the punches. It might be my favorite film of all time.
You obviously don't care about Batman and know nothing about the character, and maybe you don't appreciate a well made awesome super hero film. Batman Begins is the best origin movie of any comic book ever. You are the 1st person I ever heard of that dislikes Begins while loving Memento more than any movie. Most would like both. I just like batman begins more.
We'll technically Batman is not a superhero,he is a rich but psychologically flawed human being, that's why Nolan was right for Batman, all Nolan's work's have the same theme, people with psychological flaw's.Memento was the film that got me watching Nolan, but he has surpassed that now (my opinion) I actually rate The Prestige just behind TDK and BB,then Inception,Memento,Insomnia,Following.
But they are all great film's,and I am not saying the gulf's between them are great.
I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed in this one. I love Nolan"s filmography, I've seen all of it but Insomnia, and I feel like this video didn't exactly do him justice. The pacing isn't quite right, I think some moments of selince would've done great to it, and personally, I would've started with "Are you watching closely?" from The Prestige and ended with "Now.. where was I?" from Memento instead.
@dkoolscorpionx Judging by how you wrote that, I wouldn't be surprised if those were the kinds of movies you enjoy watching. Obviously Inception isn't crap, but you're gonna have to do be a little more professional and less obvious to be taken seriously by anyone
@xeniosm Thats why: memento was his 1st cinema movie and all the others were, as he himself states, High Scale PopCorn Movies!
Memento deserved an oscar but was too early for him to get one. So the only movie that could have gotten him an Oscar was "Prestige"... he schould have gotten one for this...
Inception was crap ...really disappointing. And the Batman movies as greate as they are will not get anyone an oscar for directing...
That kidmiska said to make a video for micheal bay fims. Haha......micheal bay only thinks about money,he makes films with lot of CGI and action.he makes popcorn flicks not great movies.
Inspite make a video for steven speilberg's ,martin scorcese's or alfred hitchcock's movies.
Nolan is my favourite director.he makes movies for the intelligent audience.he also improves himself with every movie.
Insomnia<the prestige<batman begins<the dark knight<INCEPTION
This was pure epic of of epicness and proves Christopher Nolan is a true film master and amazing story teller. I've waited so long to watch movies that gives me a state of chills and thrills to make me feel the awesome level of his genius for brilliant films. The Batman Trilogy will surpass all trilogies and break the curse of 3rd movies. Now only 6 months left until the best movie of all time is released, The Dark Knight Rises will be become a pure legend of all movies. >v<
the creator of the video is incredibly talented , i am a movie-freak and i dreamed to find some videos like this . you made my dreams come true , thanks ;) if you can make " the films of : michael bay " , youll make a lot of people happy , keep up with the good work , thanks again ;)
@KidMiska Michael Bay sucks, I see why some people like him but the majority of the people including me hate him because he ruins movie and dumbs down everything nolan is the exact opposit of Bay.
The Prestige is probably Nolan's best work in my opinion. I seriously have never been SO into a movie where I actually understood everything that was going on at every second. Greatest film ever. AND greatest director ever.
@MidnightGrunt When I watched it first I didn't expect anything great, so I was blown away! Even now I try not to expect much from a movie. Even with the Dark Knight (oh my was I the happiest girl afterwards!)
For a long time, I've been looking for a man who can capture the pure epic amazement and true nature of what Cinema masterpiece can really be. I love movies that can make you think about the story, about the each of the characters, to be not only intrigued, but be totally shocked in a state of not seeing it coming but at the sametime just mind-blown by the conclusions of each story of the all these movies. The Batman Trilogy will be the best and most legendary. Nolan is the best of the best. ^_^
Come to Jesus and be saved. God LOVES you, and whoever believes that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for their sins, was buried and rose again will have eternal life in Heaven. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ, and “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved,” - Acts 16:31

If you do, you'll find that most of his fans are either internet nerds or batman fanboys. He's a good director, not Oscar worthy good but good, but boy is he overrated.
Very good, man. I won't be surprised to see ol' Hollywood knocking at your day. Dude, you should do Frank Darabont, just saying. That would be dope. Walking Dead, The Mist, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Majestic. Only bad thing is tha he doesn't have that many movies. But, for the most part, he's got similar tone in most his movies.
An interesting challenge for you would be to make a video covering the works of an older director like Frank Capra, Alfred Hitchcock or John Ford. Or maybe a foreign director like Takashi Miike, Hayao Miyazaki or even Akira Kurosawa.
Who can top Mr. Nolan... well, after seeing your newest video, I believe no-one can. But given you concentrate on more recent directors, I guess old masters like Kubrick, Kurosawa and Coppola won't make it, which leaves us with either the Coen Brothers, Scorsese or (please not!) It's interesting, but this is something I've noticed that you've been doing lately. You seem to be focusing a lot on the craft of editing rather than music in your videos now. Which in comparison to your early works was something more predominant. It's an interesting approach and I wonder how it will evolve as you finish your last few videos for the series. Keep it up!
It's quite different from the others. Not that spectacular, not that thrilling, just a slow-paced crime story. If you like Nolan, I can recommend it, but otherwise not.
Great as always, but thought it was a little short since Christopher Nolan's films are so rich. It was edited seamlessly, but I wasn't blown away like usual.
Every time I watch a piece of work made by you, I get the chills, and no matter how many time I watch it again and again, I still get the chills. Respect.
Cronenberg please :-) Actually I wanted to do a Cronenberg myself but I think I'm gonna wait till A Dangerous Method is released for it to be included as well.
Beautiful- any chance of Terry Gilliam, Guillermo Del Toro, Kenneth Branagh, Steven Spileberg, Michael Mann or Peter Weir at any time? This was fantastic!
You should do one for Alex Proyas; he has a very interesting style and a great filmography. But I must thank you for creating a tribute to one of my influencial filmmakers in my life.
Im sorry but zimmer is one of the shittiest composers ever.

Great as always, but thought it was a little short since Christopher Nolan's films are so rich. It was edited seamlessly, but I wasn't blown away like usual.

I can't think of someone who could top Christopher Nolan in my opinion, but if I had to guess I would like to see James Cameron or Steven Spielberg.
