this wasn't even dawn, this is a different film of another trainer and the whale losing it for a minute. Dawn died in tilikum's own tank not the display tank for the entire audience to see just a few spectators who were watching her play with him.

how do they not have a whole bunch of tranq guns and other weapons for these type of possible emergencies. Like a whale that is naturally swimming 30 to 60 miles an hour at its leisure in the ocean is stuff into a tank big enough for small fish. I don't blame the whale AT ALL. I'm with you, I refuse to go to any sea world. I have seen both dolphins & hump back whales in the wild, and i can tell you now; you ain't seen nothing till you see them swiming free. Is a really brillant experience, and one I don't think you can really forget.

I saw a whale show at Sea world Orlando back in Dec and it was pretty fantastic. The whales seemed fine but what do we in the audience know what they are feeling or thinking..If its cruel or inhumane to keep them then I can see them canceling the killer whale show and setting those whales free ( if they can survive in the wild after so long in captivity) but too close all of Sea world is a bit much. Theres a hell of a lot more than just killer whales there.
That's truly horrible. I am a huge supporter of seeing the release of these animals, and have often commented on the 'stupidity' of trainers/seaworld for attempting to tame such beasts but at the same time. What a horrifying experience. Thrown around like a rag doll. Not a quick death and one I would not wish on anyone. It's terrifying being thrown underwater time and time again. **Remembering the past stops us making the same mistakes in the future**

Dawn was a great trainer, I think if she was alive today she wouldnt hold anything agaist the whale. She had such knowledge and understanding of the creature. She probably would of blamed her self even if it wasnt her fault. She loved her job and all the whales.

how do they not have a whole bunch of tranq guns and other weapons for these type of possible emergencies. Like a whale that is naturally swimming 30 to 60 miles an hour at its leisure in the ocean is stuff into a tank big enough for small fish. I don't blame the whale AT ALL. Very tragic for this poor trainer, they almost had her out at one point, tough to swallow.

I totally agree, these "shows", in my opinion, are abusive to the animals, they belong in the wild, unless they are being rehabilitated. Either way, they do NOT belong in an arena of any sort, putting on a "show". Its just wrong.

why play with those Orcas where they infact have the name "Killer Whale", i mean they're pretty sweet sometimes but they sometimes think for themselves also, right?they feed for fish but also they feed for other mammals like sea lions,seals, walrus, etc..how much more for humans...I would love to sit down and watch at Sea World but too much incidents aren't cool anymore..maybe it's their time to be out in the ocean, not in big pools or tanks...
maybe dolphins are much more friendlier than orcas

I saw a whale show at Sea world Orlando back in Dec and it was pretty fantastic. The whales seemed fine but what do we in the audience know what they are feeling or thinking..If its cruel or inhumane to keep them then I can see them canceling the killer whale show and setting those whales free ( if they can survive in the wild after so long in captivity) but too close all of Sea world is a bit much. Theres a hell of a lot more than just killer whales there.

That's truly horrible. I am a huge supporter of seeing the release of these animals, and have often commented on the 'stupidity' of trainers/seaworld for attempting to tame such beasts but at the same time. What a horrifying experience. Thrown around like a rag doll. Not a quick death and one I would not wish on anyone. It's terrifying being thrown underwater time and time again. **Remembering the past stops us making the same mistakes in the future**

Dawn was a great trainer, I think if she was alive today she wouldnt hold anything agaist the whale. She had such knowledge and understanding of the creature. She probably would of blamed her self even if it wasnt her fault. She loved her job and all the whales.

Think intelligently, we are not capturing every whale we can find. The people at Seaworld truly love the animals and take great care of them. Animals are in captivity for a reason. Some are endangered so help sustain their lives and numbers. This is also how we learn about animals and nature in general, by observing them. There is nothing wrong with this.
