thank you ! ;) maybe , I think it might be good for compress a bassdrums or percussiv sound : to add a little of "pump "or not ( with anti log) with preserving the attack. Do you have another compressor which could make a bassdrums more loud with clean attack ( 1176 ? ) ( I Know EQing is very important too)
@seanturcofr hi! i do not compress a single kick drum to get it louder. layering kick elements (click, mid, sub) is much better for creating your own kick and you can choose the level of volume AND you do not need an EQ! ;) sometimes i use the uad maximizer with a little bit of saturation and/or a L2 on the kick buss to glue everything together.
1176 is really nice for percussion and hihat/clap compression too...
@seanturcofr hey Sean! i like the mpressor for doing creative things on the channel, not on the master buss. the mpressor is also really nice for sidechain ducking/compression, because the attack is REALLY fast! ;)
Good work! I'd buy that :) Just bought myself Maschine too - still trying to arrange a track without using Logic at the mo, but getting a bit stuck...anyways, great stuff :)
Cheers! Nice setup and very good song you have going on there. I also have maschine and use it to make loops. It is a bit too difficult to use with DAW (at least with Cubase) in the way you did in this video.
thanks a lot! with the new update 1.1 of maschine it isn't too difficult to use it with a DAW. it's a different type of workflow (like the years before... ;) ). but on the other hand it's a new way of an inspiration i think and this is great for new productions.
Jesus, there's alot going on there... cheers for sending it on sounds great.... Are you just using the Maschine for the drums and the arrangementt? Im an ableton user and thinking of getting one... any advice!!!
Maschine is incredible! :) I love working with that tool.
Most of the time working with it, i create loops of different percussion sounds and the main beats, sometimes i use it for fx loops, but rarely for sequencing. the new feature "drag-n-drop audio to your daw software" is great for me. d-n-d midi would be better for my workflow. if you need more info, please ask! ;)
usually i try to make kick layering too. ( with low end , med and transcient)
thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I am trying to learn this 1.1 update. I still haven't figured out how to mute channels and change patterns in Maschine using a DAW.
kb1629 2 years ago 2
you can do that via note changes... not so difficult...
