  • @TheZ06Drifter The rear Fenders are not GM Z06 fenders, They would not fit on the convertible and if you notice I got them without scoops. The front fenders will fit a standard C6 if you put the whole Z06 nose on as well as it is wider.

    720rwhp was with the Procharger S/C at a lower boost level when the motor was installed for break in. It was one of the first videos I posted. 920HP was when the boost was turned up and the tune was leaned out after the break in period.

    The Dart Billet 427 motor I'm building now will be 1500 rwhp and will be going in my street-able 2500 lb. Porsche 962 .

  • Ummm you can bore out a stock 346ci LS1 and make it into a 500ci LS1. Search for ls1 superdeck II. They dyno'd it numerous times with a 600 shot of nos....

  • It's not physically possible, even if the engine block was big enough to bore it out to 500 C.I.'s, them skinny little aluminum cylinder walls would just crack.

  • 500 ci's isn't impossible. Difficult, yes, but not impossible. Take a look around on Katech's website. They offer 500 cid Gen3 and Gen4 engines. On street cams they easily make 600+ hp (this is the engine used in the limited production Corvette C6RS). I've also heard of other companies offering similar engine kits. GM also offers the LSX block which can built to over 500 (most I've heard of is about 510 cid).

  • I'm talking about a stock LS1 block, as if you ripped it right out of a 4th generation Camaro. Yes it's possible with other blocks, but not with the cylinder walls of the aluminum block LS1 from the Camaro.

  • Why isn't it? When they make 427 cid motors from an LS1 block, they cut the cylinders out and replace them with sleeves anyways, usually ones from Darton. I've personally seen LS1 blocks punched out to 455 in several LS1 equipped Pontiacs (mainly as a tribute to the 455 SD motors). MTI did it with a 2004 GTO using the original block if I'm not mistaken. Made something like 530+ rwhp (which works out to over 600 bhp when you account for roughly 15% lost through parasitic drivetrain loss).

  • I may be mistaken, but even with the best sleeves available I believe original LS1 blocks had cylinder walls way too thin, to punch it out an extra 154 cubic inches. That's like making a 308 C.I. engine out of a tiny little 4 cylinder DOHC Vtec. Doesn't that seem a bit ridiculous?

  • I've raced an 03 cobra at the track. He did 13.1 and I hit 13.19 in my '01 trans am.

    He ran a small pulley, meth injection, intake, headers + full exhaust work, full suspension, M/T drag radials, ect, ect... I ran a 3200 stall and drag radials. Everything else on my car was STOCK, even the tune. He showed me his dyno sheet @ 440whp. My car dyno'd at 295whp with the stall. How's your $2 superior ford shares doing??

  • My buddies trans am ran constant 13.00 once he pushed it to a 12.5.What do you think you top speed was cause we got in a race on the highway leaving the track against a ss 6 speed camaro and we got up to 197mph with the t tops off.the car was far from stock and i think it could of pulled a better 1/4 but he was afraid to cause when it ran 12.5 it blew the tranny

  • Factor gov'ner is set according to the tire rating.. if you have Z-rated stock BFG KDW's then it should be 165 or 170mph.(don't recall which) I've pushed mine ONCE to 150mph, but with an A4 and 3.73's the rpms were getting to high for might taste, not to mention I'd like to keep my insurance @ 120/month

  • The new s197 3-valvers are the best mustang yet. I'd know ,I had one well I'd say there the best yet except for the still under-powered brakes. It was totalled, girl infront of me decided she wasnt going to run that yellow light anymore and slammed her brakes right in front of me with me going about 45. didnt have enough stopping distance. Oh well atleast I can make the right choice now, buying a corvette :)

    The 06 vette bases @ $72K & fully equipped $82K where as the base price of a 06 S281 is $70K and decked out is $80K

    So it really just comes down to whether your a gm or a ford guy =P

  • i just did a little research and the 06 s281 is only rated a 435hp.. that a lot lower than 505hp in the c6 z06.. and i know the c6 have to be lighter than the new body mustangs... and its priced around 51k while the BASE model c6 vette is around 43k.. a race between the s281 and a base model c6 vette would probably be a good race but then again idk cuz iv seen some beat stock gt500's... c6 vettes only wiegh in at just over 3000lbs...

    The GT500 has 500hp to the crank where as the Saleen has 620 to the wheels

    All you need is a smaller pulley, a tuner and Drs and you in the low 10s with a the saleen easily

    The thing about vettes is-they are like tupperwear-everyone has one

  • and smaller displacement doesnt always mean better gas mileage... sence the s281's are supercharged.... a stock base model c6 vette cruising as highway speeds easily see 30mpg+ and the c6 z06 see 25mpg+

  • Z06 is the best bang for your buck. It is a low priced supercar. Outrun many cars twice the price. Put a twin turbo in it and nothing will beat it. And it won't blow up as fast as many boosted Jap engines do. Check out all the Jap engines that crack here on You-Tube.

    As for 1/4 times I will this Summer. My biggest problem is I own my own business that requires me to be there on week ends.

    I'll definitely make some kind of arrangements and get out there though and have some times to post.

    It's still running rich at WOT 10.5:1 and I'm tuning some fuel out as I write. There is much more power left in it. stay tuned
