i took mine on a little SHT weekend trip. lit it up and put it on medium and the flame spurted up and made reddish flames all the way up to the handle! any idea why? no other problems afterwords or before hand
thanks for the reply!...great explanation...i've read stories of the dangers of aluminum but anodized i was not familiar with. i see jetboil has both a plastic see thru lid and rubberized one...which do u feel is safer? u got good vids
snowblind8998 .....Really I feel AA is one of the safest ..The electro-chemical anodizing process locks in the cookware’s base metal, aluminum, so that it can’t get into food...Stainless has all kind of heavy metal that could leach into food....Lid I'm not really concerned usually I can smell the plasticizer in the plastic so I would pass on any products with an odor like that...Just my thoughts anyway!!!Thanks for watching
Listening to you fill that up made me have to pee. Lol. Bought one of these last month and I love it. Boils water super fast and is very compact in design.
You might want to place the cup underneath the jetboil after you've heated it up, that way you wont burn your hands. This was an excellent review and I've had one for about an year now, very satisfied with it. If you guys there in the US have the new cozy for the Jetboil (It has a Jetboil logo that turns yellow when it's heated) and the new see-through lid, I'd suggest you get them too. They make it easier. :)
I'm planning a small trip out into one the local natural reserves next week, not a big deal, but I will want to make some bag-food (the one where you only add water) while i'm out. This would seem like the ideal solution. BUT, I've been reading reviews and the one common theme in the negative reviews apart from stability, is that the lighter is apperantly prone to fizzling and not working right. Is this something you have experienced?
I haven't had any stability issues with mine and I think as long as your on a level surface everything is cool. You can go to JetBoil web site and look up recalls and this will let you how to ID the problem burners. Thats the way I did before I purchased this cook system and I don't believe any more of the recalls are on the shelf..Take care...
Looks very unstable to me. Weight is high up on a very small base. It was rocking backwards and forwards towards the end of the video. Think you need to get the stabilizer kit for it.
I have cooked 5 or 6 times and I'm still on my same fuel canister.... I'll let you know when I do use it up and contact you back...Thanks for watching...
Really good video. The birds in the background add to it as well. I love my JetBoil. It works great. If you can pick up the pot stabilizer so you can also use larger pots.

Nice video. To avoid that explosion of flame out of the side of the burner, light it without the can attached.

I was actually look at this as a Cook Set. But it's a bit expensive for not being able to work with other pots, etc.
