Did you use the "record game" bit on Age of Empires 3 or did you record it another way? If you used the "record game" app, how did you convert the video, because i tried something similar but no application recognized the file type?
russian strelets come out faster than janissaries, mainly due to the fact that russians get a 13 strel/ 5 cossack shipment while ottomans usually need a resource crate up first
russians can usually get about 23 strelets 5-10 seconds before a single janissary is out
however, the story is a bit different if the ottomans find good food treasures

you should have about 5 houses by now; but as soon as you age up save 200 wood for barracks. build as many musketeers as possible, ship 700 food, 700 gold, 600 food, 600 gold, keep making musketeers. As soon as you have 10 i recommend you send them to the enemy base, just set the rally point there and keep makin em. dont forget to scout out the base with your explorer in the beggining, collect as many treasures as u can, and kill the enemy villagers when you see them :)
Brittish Rush is actually very simple; first off you got to build your deck so that you have a shipments of 600 + 700 food as well as 600 + 700 wood in your Age2 slot. As soon as the game starts, divide your citizens into 4 for wood gathering, and 2 for hunting livestock. once you have 135 wood, build a house and reassign him to woodcutting, and the new citizen to food. As soon as you get 300 food, age up with bishop, assign your two citizens to berries and wait for the next shipment...

@interhaker try and get the free version of game booster. it turns off all of your background application which you may not know are running. i couldnt run minecraft very smoothly but now i can. also is it a pre-built computer? they are generally rubbish for gaming.
i use portuese i don't know how to spell it but if you use them people wont expect a rush then BOOM! my fastest with them is 9min with 75 musk its abit slower than most but only by a minute

@matop74 this game is completely worth it... i really liked aoe2, but I don't understand why people think aoe2 is better. honestly, i think they are equal. this game obviously has better graphics (really good for a game that came out in 2005 i believe). gameplay requires lots of thinking, and obviously includes lots of strategy making. ESO makes it better, since it is very competitive and overall fun. so the 20 dollars u use to buy this game is completely worth it.

And he messed up for a lot of reasons, but none of them are the fact that strelets would be there. Any decent russian really wouldn't have more than 20 strelets, primarily because they SUCK. This wouldn't work because he rushed with muskets, or aged with the wrong politician, or had his settlers on the wrong resources or whatever. Get your shit straight before you start typing, asshole.

I was playing a 4 person free-for all and I survived until it was 1v1, then the guy that was left knew what to use against me and just destroyed me.
He was finishing off this last guy all the way across the map (I had spies) so I attacked his base with close to 50 Ulahans (not sure on the spelling) and they got absolutely destroyed by about 15-20 of these cavalry units he had!

When I played as the British.I don't train a settler from a town center , but I get them from Manor (This will make a low population for gaining soldier).
@TheAirsoftStation it depends on what you are trying to do, either can harass the other players economy. Massed longbows are better at killing infantry and if you have enough you can kill a few cav units with hit and run. Muskets are better at killing cav and buildings. Its good to make just enough of everything. You need people chopping wood regaurdless, it can either be used to make longbow or to house boom while making musket and hussar. Micromanaging the ecomony and units are most important
The skills involved with villager and military management come with many wins and losses. But honestly, you need to put your barracks in as one of your tabs. Also, with your xplorer selected, hold shift to set waypoints so you don't have to explore.
@assit2 I used to play this game alot, you know what you are talking about. I used quick buttons for basicly everything. I didnt give my buildings tabs, I just hit ctrl+b or whatever. I did separate my units into tabs so i wouldnt have alot of over kill. 5 age 2 skirmishers from the dutch is enough to kill one musket in one shot. I remember many people losing to about 20 skirms in age 2. 20 mircoed skirms net you 4 kills per volley. May not kill buildings but it cripples thier eco early on.

No offence dude, I would kill you. In the beginning, you let your villagers have enough wood for two houses, and you just let the wood rise without touching it, and then build two houses later when you could of had two more villagers for like 2 min. Also you took way too long to attack

HOWEVER, for games set before the onset of the SU, the British must be red.
@TopAce777 It's a mod for AOEIII, like The Napoleonic Era. I been trying to find a working Mac one, but I've been unsuccessful. In the mod, you play under the storyline of the War of the Triple Alliance in South America. I've read that the upgrades in the game have been improved to fit the 19th century when the war occurred. There's a forum page for it, you should try it out. New civilizations, cards, etc...

Really one minute that is a a huge exaggeration. I've played starcraft 2 it is a great game and so many people love that game. Some starcraft games can be really long even 2 hours long. I wonder if you even played starcraft 2. I think the whole age of empires series is really good to.

@s7r1k30u7 But AoE doesn't incorporate guerrilla warfare. There are no bushes / forests that give you defensive bonus like in real life. It's about strategy to make the best army / best counters. Rock, paper, scissors, baby.
@miketh2005 well if you are on a jungly map and some skirmishers intercept your musketeers from a bush or highground, it could turn the tide of the war. or than some range horse units going against some pikemen and you micro and can save alot of your army. or you have a unit composition of pikemen, musketeers and dragoons, and their cannons are at the very back, you can flank with the dragoons and can possibly save the game
@s7r1k30u7 True, but did you not just prove that AoE III does have micro? xD You can't win no matter how you look at it. xD And Home Cities are great, you have to choose cards for what opponent your facing, and your strat, if your going to rush, FF, boom, or turtle, or if your playing treaty. I often find myself not knowing which card to put in my deck.

@STRAIGHTxTWIGUY StarCraft II is not overrated at all. If you knew anything about it, you'd know that games can go for 30 minutes and up. I've NEVER seen a game finish in just one minute. The mechanics of the game simply don't allow it. It's far more tactical, fast-paced, and complex compared to AoE. They're different games, and you really can't compare them. However, having played them both, SC2 is definitely more competition oriented, whereas AoE doesn't require nearly as much practice/skill.

Fail :D Vs Sandbox comp.? The fail in this tact is : a decent russian, would have 33-40 strelet the time u attacked. Strelets get bonus damage vs heavy infantry(muskeeters). This is fail :S

@skxmasta77 you are pretty "fail" youself, bud. it pretty clearly says (Moderate) in the top right corner. And he messed up for a lot of reasons, but none of them are the fact that strelets would be there. Any decent russian really wouldn't have more than 20 strelets, primarily because they SUCK. This wouldn't work because he rushed with muskets, or aged with the wrong politician, or had his settlers on the wrong resources or whatever. Get your shit straight before you start typing, asshole.

This game is too tactical for me I have to admit.
I was playing a 4 person free-for all and I survived until it was 1v1, then the guy that was left knew what to use against me and just destroyed me.
He was finishing off this last guy all the way across the map (I had spies) so I attacked his base with close to 50 Ulahans (not sure on the spelling) and they got absolutely destroyed by about 15-20 of these cavalry units he had!
I need to know what's strong against certain united I guess.

When I played as the British.I don't train a settler from a town center , but I get them from Manor (This will make a low population for gaining soldier).

@TheAirsoftStation it depends on what you are trying to do, either can harass the other players economy. Massed longbows are better at killing infantry and if you have enough you can kill a few cav units with hit and run. Muskets are better at killing cav and buildings. Its good to make just enough of everything. You need people chopping wood regaurdless, it can either be used to make longbow or to house boom while making musket and hussar. Micromanaging the ecomony and units are most important

The skills involved with villager and military management come with many wins and losses. But honestly, you need to put your barracks in as one of your tabs. Also, with your xplorer selected, hold shift to set waypoints so you don't have to explore.

@assit2 I used to play this game alot, you know what you are talking about. I used quick buttons for basicly everything. I didnt give my buildings tabs, I just hit ctrl+b or whatever. I did separate my units into tabs so i wouldnt have alot of over kill. 5 age 2 skirmishers from the dutch is enough to kill one musket in one shot. I remember many people losing to about 20 skirms in age 2. 20 mircoed skirms net you 4 kills per volley. May not kill buildings but it cripples thier eco early on.

No offence dude, I would kill you. In the beginning, you let your villagers have enough wood for two houses, and you just let the wood rise without touching it, and then build two houses later when you could of had two more villagers for like 2 min. Also you took way too long to attack

@vaahtobileet No Soviet Union in this game. The USSR was created in 1917. Age of Empires 3 (With War of the Triple Alliance mod) stops in the 1800s.

@vaahtobileet well then, I would say that if there was a game that had the Soviet Union, I would have to defer red to them, for the reason that at that point, the great British Empire was no more, and they had long since used the old "lobsterback" uniforms... HOWEVER, for games set before the onset of the SU, the British must be red.

@TopAce777 It's a mod for AOEIII, like The Napoleonic Era. I been trying to find a working Mac one, but I've been unsuccessful. In the mod, you play under the storyline of the War of the Triple Alliance in South America. I've read that the upgrades in the game have been improved to fit the 19th century when the war occurred. There's a forum page for it, you should try it out. New civilizations, cards, etc...

Really one minute that is a a huge exaggeration. I've played starcraft 2 it is a great game and so many people love that game. Some starcraft games can be really long even 2 hours long. I wonder if you even played starcraft 2. I think the whole age of empires series is really good to.

@STRAIGHTxTWIGUY Well, starcraft2 has better physics and control and allows more creative play, as age of empires 3 dropped everything good about age 2 and gave us loads of shit that we don't need, like a whole hometown page and this battle stance thing, which made it so that the stronger army wins, not the one with best micro. Don't get me wrong, i bought both these games and i think they are both excellent

@s7r1k30u7 But AoE doesn't incorporate guerrilla warfare. There are no bushes / forests that give you defensive bonus like in real life. It's about strategy to make the best army / best counters. Rock, paper, scissors, baby.

@miketh2005 well if you are on a jungly map and some skirmishers intercept your musketeers from a bush or highground, it could turn the tide of the war. or than some range horse units going against some pikemen and you micro and can save alot of your army. or you have a unit composition of pikemen, musketeers and dragoons, and their cannons are at the very back, you can flank with the dragoons and can possibly save the game

@s7r1k30u7 True, but did you not just prove that AoE III does have micro? xD You can't win no matter how you look at it. xD And Home Cities are great, you have to choose cards for what opponent your facing, and your strat, if your going to rush, FF, boom, or turtle, or if your playing treaty. I often find myself not knowing which card to put in my deck.

@STRAIGHTxTWIGUY StarCraft II is not overrated at all. If you knew anything about it, you'd know that games can go for 30 minutes and up. I've NEVER seen a game finish in just one minute. The mechanics of the game simply don't allow it. It's far more tactical, fast-paced, and complex compared to AoE. They're different games, and you really can't compare them. However, having played them both, SC2 is definitely more competition oriented, whereas AoE doesn't require nearly as much practice/skill.
