I have traveled to over 36 countries and the Muslim people are some of the nicest people if have met. Yes, there is something called ''racial profiling'' in the Australian Police Force. These give special powers to police. They have been further enhanced since 9/11 to be reframed as anti-terror laws. Speaking as a law student, your friend is an idiot and should be reported to the CMC. These "special powers" are called discretionary powers - As a 19 year old trust me, I know a shit load of "white" teenagers that have been pulled over and fined for things like this.
You're ignoring the issue, SHE accused the officer of assaulting her, potentially destroying his career. Police give out stupid fines like this to everyone. It doesn’t mean you can falsely accuse them of a crime.

Wow, that is one patient police officer, kudos to him for keeping his cool and explaining the law to a woman who is clearly disrespecting him... If I had said 'Australians are racist' then yes, but I actually said "a lot of Australians are racist", which is me trying to convey that their is a substantial amount. That's not generalising. I think you also probably need to learn the difference between claiming something is indicative of a whole race and making a true statement based on experience.

There are a vocal minority of us who dedicate their lives to propogating this insanity and forcing it on the rest of Australia and Australian Muslims. The vast majority of Australian Muslims are very similar to Christians in their attitude towards extremism. Most Muslim women don't wear Burqas, but they just look like ordinary people. Most Muslims don't believe in Sharia in Australia - but that's not newsworthy..

Islam is a religion which is based on Christianity in the same way that Christianity is based on Judaism. Aussie Muslims have a great appreciation for Christianity & democracy. Please read the wikipedia articles and meet some genuine Muslims -you'll see that the media is doing its job in reporting extremists, but the broad picture is much less bleak.

How more patient can this police officer be. She wasn't displaying her p-plate properly, simple and didn't want the officer to confirm that she was the person producing the licence. I am sick of minority groups throwing the accusation of racism out any time they don't like what someone does. This women is doing nothing to help the view a lot of people have against muslims.

I am a young Muslim woman who wears the head scarf (not Burqa) and I support the new NSW Burqa law. I think its fair and enforces the rule of law. The police man is correct, it states in the handbook how to clearly display your P plates. Its people like this Lady that gives women with burqas a bad name and just wants more tighter laws on just removing them. Then she can't claim anyone is being racsit when she is clearly doing the wrong thing.

She was charged with making false accusations against a police officer.
She was convicted.
