nobody is going to believe me but.... this fall im playing basketball and khalid is going to be my coach. plus he live's right down the street from me.
Khalid El Amin made me love College basketball. I was in middle school in 1999 when I watched this tournament. I have been a Uconn supporter since. I almost went to college in Hartford too. :)
@flyboyeso172 hmm he was great deffinately one of the best ..but mmmm there was good ones boy..doron sheffer and ricky moores def and now kemba and ray allen was a guard too you know :D
damn i been looking for this video for years.. As a uconn fan its so great having a guy like El- Amin on your team. i can see why opposing fans would hate. That kid could ball tho!
I wish you could of seen the buzzer beater he hit his junior year at state....state semis against st.thomas academy... he dribbled the length of the court and hit buzzer beater three pointer....one of the crazier moments in Minnesota State Tourney history it made ESPN plays of the week back in the day.....CRAZY shot The Civic Center went nuts . he did the same thing here and jump on the table..it was nuts..lol
I remember that too. I am originally from Minneapolis. That guy was so talented. I was thinking about him earlier today how when he was a freshman, he gave our high school fits, which was the Minnesota State Champions Washburn Millers that year. All of our guards were seniors and very good. He and Chris Rainey were awesome. Chris Rainey was so talented as well but was a knucklehead and got kicked off of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
This dude had minnesota high school basketball on lock in 95,96,97 ......Minneapolis North High three peated... then he won a chip in college with Rip....
Pitt fans were such a-holes that entire game, throwing bottles and other crap on the floor, bashing El-Amin's religion. They couldn't have deserved this ending more.
If that clown didn't jump on to the scorer's table to taunt the fans on free "squeezie" day, he wouldn't have had anything thrown at him. He was the real a-hole.
@rrlindsey5 Did you even read what I said? Things were being thrown at UConn players/coaches ALL GAME. El-Amin's emotional response at the end of the game was in REACTION to the thuggery of the Pitt crowd -- he didn't incite anything.
I read what you said. I was at the game. Were you? No one threw anything until he jumped on top of the scorer's table to taunt the fans. Get your facts straight.
best uconn player ever

When the game was on the line, Khalid always wanted the ball in his hands. A true leader on this championship team.

My 2nd favorite El-Amin moment. My 1st is when he ran up to the camera at the end of the Duke game and screamed "We shocked the world!"
