I saw that you and other guys had a trident on one of your shirts, does this mean you get grouped with other people with the same career choices as you?
@Reid7ec No its just the shirt you wore that day, you wear different colored shirts with different emblems on them, there are 5 different colored shirts, each company will wear different colors each day, some emblems are the globe and anchor, pilots wings, submariners symbol, navy seal badge, surface warfare symbol.

hey i got accepted to session 1. ive had a lot of experiance in the military, as i am a sea cadet. will they teach subjects like D&C or just like a little meet and greet? Ive heard the "horrors" of plebe summer? is it anything like that? n no worries with physical fitness. I swim yearround on club and for school and (try) to run year round for cross country. n i also do a ton of pushups (120 in 2 minutes) and situps.
@Jammiejammo It's nothing like Plebe summer! I mean, they're trying to expose you to all the "best" things that the Academy has to offer. There is a Drill Competition and you'll probably get pissed at the people who aren't good at marching! But give 'em a break!! But you'll love the seminar! It was the best week of my life!! Haha I hope to see you there, Class of 2016! Almost as great as Class of 2015 ;) haha

@damastadj94 Yes, you do your CFA there. But other than that, if you read the comments I posted below you'll know what all to bring! Be prepared for the Best week of your life!

I literally got my acceptance letter last night lol. However, it seems to me that i'll need more than what's on the list of stuff to bring. What do you suggest I bring?
@phalangeopods Honestly, with that $350 you paid, that covers a lot of stuff that they give you. (3 Set's of Shorts, 5 T's. A Workout shirt, sweats, etc.) But anyway, still bring Everything on the list because you never know!! And be sure to bring an Old Pair of shoes because you WILL be running through the MUD and swimming with them on. But other than that.... I can't really think of anything else I would recommend bringing except a camera. Lol I was like the only one with one last year! But I
@phalangeopods Would reccomend bringing some extra cash because they have a store (Midshipmen Store) with more navy Stuff that you will EVER see lol and I know that I dropped like a hundred bucks in there just buying clothes lol. @phalangeopods No, don't get reef points. Lol. Nass is so easy just as long as you're in somewhat decent shape. Be Sure to be able to do a lot of Push ups, sit ups, Pull ups, and run one mile relatively fast because you take your Candidate Fitness Assesment while you're there which is used for admissions. But honestly, NASS is so easy dude. Don't worry about memorizing anything. Lol the Midshipmen are so chill. You'll be alright. Haha on the Mock Plebe summer night they'll ask you weird
@phalangeopods questions like "What's G14 in the Vending Machine!?" or "What's the Rank of Captain Crunch" < A kid got asked this and said he didn't know and I had to do push ups for it. Lol I was like Really Dude? Just be sure you're in Shape and other than that, you have NOTHING to worry about except for having a badass time. It was definitely the greatest experience of my life........ So Far anyway, Plebe summer starts on June 30th this year and I'm sure that'll be even more badass. haha

@kylesharonda Honestly, I would advise against wearing it. The Midshipmen there hate the kids who come in and are "Know-it-alls". Be Humble when you get there. You can always spot the "Rotc Nazi's". We had a few and the they got talked about behind their backs. The Midshipmen give you a "grade" at the end of the seminar which contributes to your overall application. If you want to stand out, do it in marching or just by respecting your detailer. Be almost afraid to talk to your detailer until.
@kylesharonda you realize if they'll joke around with you or not. My Detailer was cool as hell and we got to joke around a bunch. But that's basically my opinion on the matter. I mean you can do what you want but I believe it would be smart to just wear civilian clothes. Good luck This Summer!
I know, I was surprised when I got my letter. But I applied the first day the application opened(Feb. 1st) so that might have had something to do with it. Also i;m in NJROTC and they look at JROTC programs as well. I was the 602,301st person to apply . But i'm sure you'll get in.

I also applied for the 2011 NASS and got accepted for sesion 1. It's videos like these that are helpful. However, I have one question... did you ever get to wear a pair of civilian clothes?
@kylesharonda The only time you wear civilian clothes is when you first get there and when you leave. That big list they give you of "stuff to bring" is worthless in regards to apparel. But be sure to bring everything they tell you to just in case.

I was at session one as well, great time. I got a nomination from my senator two weeks ago! I don't know if I'm in yet though, can't tell if the letter I received in October was a letter of assurance or not.
Not yet, I have my nomination and all of my required Documents submitted. I've already been checked out by DoDMERB and my BGO and I'm fully qualified but the Academy doesn't notify all appointees until April 15th, I Hate the waiting!
