  • I played this as first clarinet this year. It was pretty fun to play; and it also sounded amazing.

  • I played this as first clarinet with a different symphony. Fun piece to play. :)

  • The timpani could have used harder mallets on this. I play snare in a different arrangement of this.

  • the timpani was sharp ^-^

    i'm playing 2nd trombone :)

  • were playi8ng this i am a first trumpet. lol i love how much this sounds like it because it is

  • Hmmm...Very nice! Especially the first cornet!

  • The finest version of this piece on youtube. I just play it over and over again.

    Fabulous.

  • Hey I'm a 7th grader in middle school and we are playing this for MPA it sounds so cool.

    Go HORN!

  • i basically hate the song from 2:25 to the end, the woodwind part is rather annoying

  • Sucks to be 2nd clarinet at 1:24 to 1:35. XD

  • @volleyballplaya1234 sucks to be any clarinet then. 1st is the same thing. im playing it for band and there is no where good to breath

  • @volleyballplaya1234 i say from 2:25 to 2:50 . but then again i had 3rd.

  • no oboe????? im hurt :P

  • I'm 2nd clarinet in my high school symphonic band and have a playing test on 4 measures before circle 9 tomorrow, in other words, 3:31. Its so crazy :)

  • Your first trumpet is a beast.

  • i am playing this song tomorrow! i am in a middle school band and platy the trumpet

  • trumpets all the way

  • theres only one alto sax? :'(

  • this song is very awesome, yet the first alto sax part has the mother of all awkward fingerings.

  • Played this my freshman year in Highschool in 1999. To this day it's still one of my favorite Classical pieces. Very well done. Y'all did it justice. =D

  • cadets are playing this song this year! gonna be epic!

  • i am playing first trumpet on this piece. the solo is s blast! but the song its self will where you out

  • Our 8th grade band is playing this at kings island band festival. I play 2nd trombone hopefully our clarinets won't suck as they usually do. They annoy my teacher so much

  • wow you guys are playing this too...this piece is pretty hard but our trumpet section makes it sound easy...hopefully when they perform this piece with other pieces such as Gumsuckers' march they can hold out through it.

but good performance overall. I admire the musicianship you guys have.

  • 8th grade.....and can easily play this?? wat a liar. im in an all state band and our clarinet section couldnt "easily" play this especially the arpegios and 16th note meledy toward the end

  • @jeremyat11 It has nothing to do with age,our symphonic band is a combination of 9th and 8th graders and this is our easiest song we're playing right now.

  • @jeremyat11 It has nothing to do with age,our symphonic band is a combination of 9th and 8th graders and this is our easiest song we're playing right now.

  • i'm a trumpet player and this song was so frustrating! lol. but overall good song and performance!

  • Wow. I'm in 8th grade and we were going to play this but our band teacher is having a baby and the sub said he cant change the songs so we have to play these other songs but i really wanted to play this one instead of Procession of the Centurions. I'm surprised though. You guys look like you could be in high school. I'm still in middle school and we're playing songs like this. I play the clarinet and I can easily play this. You're good too it just seems like you guys would have a harder song.

  • what group is this

  • poor 1st trumpet hang in there

  • This performance is amazing!! We're playing this right now in band and I'm only 2nd Clarinet and it's pretty challenging. I'm definitely gonna have to give props to the cornet part as well. The clarinets sound amazing too!!

  • @shannonkv12 i performed this song on 1st cornet it was so much fun

  • agh id hate to play that 1st cornet part without my friend in band, even if during sightreading he just dropped out and it was like playing it by myself. anyway, GREAT PERFORMANCE

  • Dude I'm playing the first cornet part of this in band and it's hard enough to play it all the way through with another person, let alone by yourself. I commend on that. The hardest thing about this piece for trumpet is the varous articulations you have to use. Good performance :)

  • I love your tuba :3

  • :DD

    this is amazing,

    good job!

    your intonation is outstanding.

the HORN PART IS SO HIGH!

  • actually, the horn part is at the medium range, its really not that bad

  • great performance! doesn't the music ask for more staccato 1st trumpet playing though? poor 1st guy was doing this song all alone! haha

  • they dont have the harp the harp solo is cool...

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Completely. Amazing. Trumpets.

I've never heard this piece performed at such a fast tempo, and not only that, but with absolutely perfect trumpet solos.

  • those are french horns.

  • Excellent in every way a performance can be. The technique is clean, the blend and balance are top notch and the ensemble sound is exquisite. Musically satisfying to the highest degree!

  • great job! but i gotta say good job to 1st clarinet(s) cuz thats wat i am XD GO 1ST CLARINETSSSS!!!

  • awesome performence. i had to play this song in music class, but i couldn't lol my fingers don't move that fast

  • It's a wonderful performance and these young people deserve a lot of praise! Bravissimi!

  • magnificent job by the 1st trumpet staying strong with a bright and clear tone all the way through... I'm playing lead cornet on this piece for my wind ensemble and it is a challenge. Even in the recording I have the trumpets crack notes towards the end

  • The snare drummer is also fantastic!

  • i feel special. i got to play 1st on this at my school's graduation, and ive only been in the band for 5 months!

  • Bravo!!!

  • I played this with my old band teacher

    Mr. Cassels

    3-2-09

    RIP

  • ahhh best song ever...brings back memories of better days.

  • this is so good

  • uuuuuuuggggggggggghhhhhhhhh. we got to played at graduation for the teachers to walk in

  • lol

  • this song is great. we played this in russia on our band trip, but it was played much faster than this =s

  • this is actually very close to the correct tempo...maybe a little faster, but not much.

  • LOVE THIS SONG. I wish i was brave enough to audition on for clarinet. But no im on Bass Clarinet. Anyway great job!!@!!!!!

  • God i love this song. Were playing it for the seniors graduation. i wish i had first clarinet part, i play stupid bass. Well great job!!!!

  • we played this at band camp last summer. i don't really think it's that hard.

but best concert band song ever!

  • Amazing. My school band is doing this piece along with 3 others for the spring concert but we started practicing at the beginning of April (concert is middle of May) so I'm working harder than ever to get it right. It's amazing how much progress we've made so quickly compared to other pieces which are easier but take more time to learn

  • I still enjoy this performance by Dr. Fannin's students today as I did a year ago. It is magnificently done. It comes as close to Arthur Fiedler's Boston Pops performance as any I have heard. Bravo !!

  • wow. this is great. my band is attempting to possibly figure out how to play this by the end of the year. a little. maybe.

  • Very powerful trumpet 1, I'm quite impressed.

  • The concert band and I are playing this for our concert. It's really not that fun for me when I play Bass Clarinet. :P But, sometimes you gotta suffer for your art. Whatever. T_T None-the-Less its still a wonderful piece

  • Bravissimi!

This is the most spirited and polished performance of this piece on the tube.

    The trumpeter is fabulous1

  • i played this during graduations in college i want it to be my wedding entrance song

  • What an excellent orchestra of young people. They play very well indeed.

    BRAVI!

  • we played this last year for our 8th grade advanced band. i believe we did very well with it considering it is a 7 difficulty and us being only in 8th.

  • Wow, this is amazing. We played this in 8th grade (I'm in 7th, I was asked to perform too). We weren't as great, but it was a fun song.

  • fantastic. we were going to do this piece but we had a short amount of time to do it and it just wasn't coming together so we dropped it. that is an amazing trumpet player, though.

  • Just a thought, your sound is great and the piece is coming along very well. But it might be of some help to get the bells of the Trumpets and Trombone out of the stand so the sound isnt being blocked and can better project.

  • oh wow, I am playing this piece with my orchestra for a concert, it's one of my favorites, I just love how it was composed, the flow of the music is so lovely!

  • Extremely well done. Bravo.

  • i have to play this in band, i have to play the snare drum..

  • Haha. Oh well, I can't talk. I play clarinet. Fun song though

  • We played this in symphony but the trumpets couldn't do the first part lol

  • You guys make this piece seem so easy! Beautifully played - this performance makes me excited for our band to play it. Hopefully we sound just as good as you, if not better :P

  • we get to play this song for varsity band this year!!!

  • its usually the first trumpet who has hard time on this song. But apprently not in this one. He's virtually leading the band. Fantastic.

  • Nice work! Very good trumpet player! bravo

  • Fantastic!

  • In the company of the most majestic pieces of music; it is among my favorites. Particularly good for weddings, and grand entrances. These young people display talent, courage and convey an understanding of what music of this type should say to those listening and playing as well. Nicely done! Bravo!

  • I completely agree with you, 6271947 ... you are very eloquent! I once had an old recording from Russia with full orchestra and chorus of this piece, and I saw a rare production of Mlada at Lincoln Center in NYC more than a dozen years ago. I always thought it should be played with the utmost grandeur and triumphant opulence. It personifies the magnificent majesty of Imperial Czarist Russia. When performed with the chorus - and not too fast - it is GLORIOUS!

  • oh god, we played this in our senior band and we didn't sound NEARLY as good as you guys.

  • Our MIDDLE SCHOOL played this. You guys were better but we did decent. It was a huge accompishment for us.

  • this song is extremly fun to play i remember only playing for one month and then trying to play this song on flute... hard as hell, but fun

  • we are playing this song in our band class...im really excited for our freshman band concert this year!!

You did a great job on this song!!!

  • excelente muy buen trabajo con el arreglo

  • Very Good

  • very well done. Everyone is together and u can tell by one sound and what is visible u see finger and hand placements together.

  • BRAVO, I absolutely believe this is extremely well done. Congratulations Dr. Fannin and musicians.

  • I made 1st chair at district this year. Our band has glanced at it a few times never really tried to play it. We're ranked #1 in the state of Georgia (TCCHS BAND). I haven't taken my trumpet home to practice since the 8th grade but I'm looking at the music to this right now. Fun part but being so high up and so fats makes it difficult =)

  • that was very good. we played i guess an abriviated version of this for middle school all district band. real fun piece. bravo

  • Well done trumpets and horns! As a horn player, this was one of my favorite pieces to play.

  • Our band is currently starting to play this song. It is fun to play especially if u play trumpet or a woodind.

  • very well done! though slightly under tempo and the ensemble doesn't quite grasp the style in some places.

  • I got to play this last year for one or our later concerts my senior year *tear* I miss band :( this song was so cool though to play!

  • This is the Hendrix College (located in Conway, AR) wind ensemble, part of the last concert of the fall semester.

  • can you tell me which band is performing this? i seem to recognize some faces but I'm not sure?

  • It is the Hendrix College Wind Ensemble.

  • a little under tempo, but very clean! nice job

  • Wonderful!

  • Very triumphant! Thanks you for posting this.

  • Excellent, superlative it's, grand well done, bravo!

  • Excellent! I've never heard a band arrangement of this piece before. Who ever pulled it off did a grand job.
