@ cparent4 I installed it into a Subaru Forester. I actually purchased a wire harness from Crutchfield specific for Subaru. It really made all the difference in the world. As without it I would have had to splice crimp and hope for the best or go buy shit to solder. No thanks. I also almost bought the parking brake override on EBay but instead I just wired the parking brake wire to the ground wiring and it totally worked. Good luck!
Just installed the VM9424. Easy breezy! Also just hook the pink brake wire onto the black ground wires and you've overridden the parking brake. That's it!
@Egjahnke. just got my jenson 9424 in today. What type of vehicle did you install yours into? Was it with a wiring harness from the company you purchased it from? Also did this over ride trick work? Thanks
I just installed one but the clock keep adjusting back to the original time when it first turned on. Like when I adjust it from 9pm to 4pm, it will come back to 9pm again after 15seconds. Please I need help!!!!! please answer under this comment so I will receive it. Thanks.
This works for all the touch screen Jensen models; one good thing about this is once you get in the menue, you can change the "Region Code" : which is the dvd code to play the dvd. In the United States is " 1" but If you change it to (Zero) you can play all the dvds or cds in this universe... If you don't change the code, you only play dvds in the United States only; unless the dvd or vcd is recorded it a universal code whiucj is Zero..
i like what you did but what if there is no sound coming out of the unit is there any thing to do like i can see the sound going up and down on the unit please help thanks
FYI: this code works for the VM-9313 jensen. you do the same thing except you dont have to highlight language. go to setup type the code and make ur selections. works easy and can be reversed if u ever decide to sell ur unit
hey man nice video but i have a question i recently bought the vm9512 but now i want to install an amp but these jensen dvd player has 6 preamp rca outputs( 2 for Front, 2 for rear, 1 for center , and 1 for sub). which of them should i use if im going to connect an amp for the subwoffer and what should i use to connect because there only come 1 rca output for the sub and the amplifier requires 2 rca inputs for signal right? i will apreciate your response
i believe the format of the file u download must be a file that the flipout will play.. if u look at the box or manual it will tell u what all formats it will support and play... some ive downloaded wouldnt work because the flip out wouldnt support it
I don't really know how to do it on any other models. Although overriding it with the switch method should work, but I think that is kind of tedious and tacky. sry
i know how to bypass it with no code or bypass switch just get the pink wire and put it together with the ground wire from the radio and it will be bypassed all the time dont have to worry about a switch or a code
does anyone know the remote control code for this unit? i have some how changed the remote control code so the unit will not accept the commands. i tried several numbers starting with 000 at one point i had a number set in which alowed me to turn the unit off and on agian, but since then haven't been able too get any remote functions to work.
you know you can just ground it out lol. thats good to know as well... how do you hook up subs to the head unit? because it provides 1 output. instead of 2..
I'm pretty sure you would connect the amp to that wire, which would then provide the output for the two subs. I'm not quite sure though, because I don't have subs.
i installed a y adapter interface where one wire from the radio unit connects into one end and you connect two wires out the other end into your sub. the adapter is called a y adapter because it is shaped like a y all it does it split the output into two channels since subs are mono it doesn't matter that your splitting it.
hi what if i dont have the remote cause i bought suposly the right one in ebay got burn with the wrong one do u think it would work? using the stereo buttons?? thanks
Does this process work on the VM9224BT as well? Thanks man!

hey just tried this on a vm9212 unit. and it work thanks
ThePolarisRanger 2 years ago
No, u only have to do it once. Unless the battery is ever disconnected or dead, then u will have to re-enter the code.
Benny1616 2 years ago
Do have to do this everytime you get in the car or does it stay overrided once you put the code in once?

Unfortunatly I cant get this to work on the VM8023HD. This is a nontouch unit. Anyone have an idea how to disable it on this unit.
