Wes Malott bowling against Michael Wilbon showed that pin carry can be had and it might keep them from having to rip their shoulder trying to heave it as hard as possible.
@TakingtheHyroad Ryan Ciminelli (which I can't spell to save my life) is a cranker by style, but plays a straight game by throwing urethane most of the time.

Norm does not play bowling, the only player who does not find its way into bowling, Im sorry for him but this is, hit the bowling is much more complex and elaborate than what can Duke, respect for his performance. Chris Barnes, Wess, Fagan, Dick and many other players are true in bowling but Norm D.
How is Norm not true bowling? He has 33 Titles, and can win playing and has won playing all angle's and on all the pattern's. I agree with the other player's you named, but Norm IS a "True" player. Ask any of the Pro's.
Both bowlers are amazing. I have to give it to Michael Fagan for his outstanding matches/rounds. I personally wanted him to win :) he seems like an awesome bowler. THE DUKE is amazing though. I'm new to this stuff and this was actually my first time ever watching a match like this. This inspires me to bowl hahaha :D

Fagan has no versatility in his game. instead of trying a different line he is trying lofting the ball which is never acurate cause of the ball bouncing on the lane.Not even a ball change ..... maybe a ball that hooks less????????????? He just got lucky to get to the final!
i'm not going as far as saying he was lucky. its really hard to find a like on this oil pattern and he found a great one. i think he just can't adapt that well yet to the lane breaking down. and duke is a beast. period.
The DUKE! He is true versatility I tell ya. Lately he's been playing straighter but he's all about adaptation, not trying to look stylish and that's more what bowling to win is about. Long ago in the early 90s he used to play a wide curve too. Crazy! That is why he is THE DUKE. And WRW is also the same. Adaptation. Those guys are the titans of bowling. The champs. But I still got love for my favorite righty, PDW and lefty PB3 though. Pure grace!

I think he just fell apart. He was getting strike after strike in nearly all the matches, not just the first one. Then couldn't do anything in the last one.
Fagan did not fall apart. He was forced to chase the oil deeper and deeper inside until he had nowhere else to go after the oil finally disappeared. That is what these reactive balls do, they suck up the oil. Combine this with Duke playing his favorite shot straight up the gutter and you can probably realized how helpless Fagan felt knowing he was going to lose no matter what he did; but he did not fall apart, he was a victim of the conditions.
Can you believe what Norm says to a guy in the crowd at the end? "Sorry for eyeing up your girlfriend mate!" Only Norm could get away with that. Hilarious.

he lost his ball reaction and carry due to having to play deep. there is also word that Duke burnt up Fagan's line in practice.
