  • I don't know what the ending of Robbie and Ce's death is. That's just what Briony wanted since she has no heart. There's no way she'd know if Ce or Robbie died since all ties were cut. Two, why didn't Robbie just ditch the ARMY and make Briony clear his name?

  • He could have cleared his name I guess....but then he'd be court marshalled for desertion......

  • Amazingly compiled! Absolutely lovable! Very charming and beautiful. Heartily thank you!

  • I loved this movie :D

  • Beautiful touching video! I loved it!

  • Thank you :)

  • For all those opera lovers out there that do know more about opera than me. Is this the same opera/aria that plays during the movie while she is getting ready for dinner? while she is getting ready?

  • I can't remember, but I don't think so as the original song that this one came from was from the 1968 Romeo and Juliet Movie.

The song is called "What is a youth" in the movie, but I think there is another song with different lyrics called "A Time for us" as far as I know.

  • The duet that is playing while she is getting ready and James is typing is called "O Soave Fanciulla" from La Boheme by Puccini. It is beautiful and I was so glad it was in the film :-)

  • Thank you so much for replying!!! Yeah, I don't know much about opera but it did look beautiful to me, so I wanted to buy it online :-)

  • Do you know who the tenor was in the duet? I can't work out if it is a modern tenor (Domingo perhaps?)or someone like Gigli or Tito Gobi? Can you help?

  • The tenor is Jussi Bjorling and the soprano is Victoria de los Angeles.

  • Thanks for that. I thought it was an unusually good Bel Canto voice for many of today's singers. Much appreciated.

  • Congratulations for this beautiful video, the music just breaks my heart! Could you please tell me who sings this and where can I find this song ? I've been searching everywhere for it, but with no succes so far. Thank you! Congratulations once again !

  • I can send you the track if you would like it, its called Ai Giochi Addio and it is sung by Natasha Marsh.

  • Oh, wow, that would be really great !!! Thank you !!! I will send you a message with my e-mail adress if it's ok or please tell me if there is another way to send me the song. Thank you!

  • Hi I will upload it to my mediafire acct and send you a pm on here :)

  • I loved this video, the music is great and the clips were beautiful. :D

  • Thank you very much :D

  • Beautiful vid & music for a wonderful film. I enjoyed that Angela, thank you.

  • Thank you ali :D

  • I love this song. I think it is from Romeo and Juliet and is called "A Time For Us" which, when you think about it, goes perfectly with our lovely Cecilia and our gorgeous Robbie! Love it!!!

  • Thank you, glad you liked it :D

  • I really love your video, Angela! I am repeating myself but that's how I feel!

One question, though, you didn't use the scenes when Cee is looking at herself in the mirror and Robbie writing his letter...Why?

  • I like the black and white shots too! They have a kind of WWII quality that fits the movie, I think!

  • Thank you Marie :D

  • I love it, Angela! I told you that already in a post on C19!

The music is perfect and the imges are so beautiful I feel like crying.

  • Very beautiful and sad! I loved it from beginning to end, and I love this song in case you didn't know... ^^ I'm not a big fan of Atonement (surprise!) however I absolutely loved your video :) Very beautiful indeed! 1000 stars ;(

  • Thanks and I know what you mean Zosia, it is not a happy story, not one people would want to watch a lot, lol.

  • lol actually the sadness of this film is not the reason why I don't like it MUCH but it would be hard for me to define what it actually is :P Anyway, your video is brilliant! ^^

  • Have you seen Sparkhouse? That is my next project and a bit more light hearted, lol.

  • No I haven't!! OMG, How I envy you now!! I want to see it so badly!!! Can't wait for the video ^^

  • Well, I love Atonement, (Joe Wright is a very, very talented director ), Angela's video is a great tribute to this movie.

Zosia, you like RA and Guy of G and you don't like Atonement! (just kidding!)

Zosia, I've got to thank you because I've seen Veritas video she made for you about RH and Guy and it's brilliant too.

  • Aww thank you so much :D I am very glad Veritas made that vid for me you know ^^ Sorry, I do not love Atonement (and it has ALL the qualities I usually seek in a good film, so I really can't tell you why!) :/ (but I do LOVE Joe Wright's Pride and Prejudice LOL) I must say that I really love some Atonement videos though and this is certainly one of them!!! :) Very beautiful and moving like I said before ^^

  • Ah I see. P&P is still my favorite movie because of the story I think and because of Joe wright's creativity but Atonement has definitely something superior regarding the photography, the camera angles and shots. When I watch Atonement, I feel like I am in front of art and I pay attention to details. When I watch P&P, I pay attention to the characters/actors, not only the visual quality of the film.

  • Aww wow. It's depressing but very pretty :)

  • Thanks you, yes not the kind of film to watch if you are feeling :( already lol.

  • This was one very emotional video angela ! Lovely work ! A little sad but still so touching ! and btw incase you didn`t know , I love James McAvoy too ! ;D hee hee

    5 stars !!!!

  • lol, he is such a cutie. :D and the whole movie has very few happy moments does it :D ! and thanks

  • This is lovely, spikesbint!! I love how the only dialogue you hear are their mutual declaration of love. And the music is perfect!

  • Thanks you :D

  • love Atonement and James McAvoy! i'm so glad that the movie was somewhat true to the book as it could be :) Your music choice was perfect as Robbie and Cecilia were just like "romeo & juliet".

  • Yes, I read the book after seeing the movie and it was surprisingly faithful to the original story, James is lovely. :D and thank you.

  • I love the effect you've used, well done, depressing, but thank you for this lovely video! <3

  • lol, and thanks. The whole movie is not exactly a bundle of laughs is it! :D
