  • What's scary in hindsight is just how accurate this album would turn out to be. I'd never thought of it until now. I was 25 the only time I heard two women my age speak with concern for another person. The album could have been written for GenX in the Pacific Northwest. Even today, I still wonder what happened here. I'd go somewhere else and the women were completely different in attitude. Or they'd visit here and wonder what planet the women here were from.

  • Why was it viewed as one of their worst? Because the reviewers were women.

  • The art work for the project ,pink floyd abd others at that tiem was done by Hypnosis. If you look on the side of the feaces of these beautiluf women under their veils is a little disturbing.

  • My very favourite album:)

  • Where do you get the information regarding "I don,t know why this album was/is viewed as one of Parsons' worst bit of work"? Haven't heard or read that. Enjoyed the music from this album. Not too much Alan Parsons has done that I don't like. If not for the likes of Parsons, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues...et al...I'd be lost today in a world where probably 85% of the 'music' is deplorable! Let me clarify: 80% of 'music' today is not MUSIC !!!

  • @Tabstarbelle I agree 100% with you on that......

  • love this song!!!

  • thank you for this upload!

  • AP has more creative juice in one hang nail than all of his critics. I IGNORE critics because music is felt in the heart and not created for talentless commentators.

  • I think it was before it's time. I didn't like it either, for more than a decade. In fact, I traded the album to my brother for a different one at one point. I've learned to appreciate it, though.

  • alan parson's doesn't have a worst piece of work.he's the best art rock producer ever!!!

  • APP don't know how to do a 'bad' album. There are albums that you may not like..as a 'whole' but each of them have at least a couple of 'favourite' songs. And yes this track is one of my favourite off this album.. along with Damned If I Do :-)

  • One of my favourite too!

  • Hi caramel eyes!!!

  • Such a happy little tune

  • I believe one of the women on the cover is Clare Tory, a session singer for Alan Parsons. She rose to fame somewhat on Dark Side Of The Moon.

Saludos.

  • I played the grooves off this album...Great tunes

  • Leprosy is what the women have..hence the faces with "imperfections" hidden under the vails. EVE "the forbidden fruit "per say. Great album as always!

  • Very ELO'ish

  • my dad loves this song

  • lol just hit me as a funny post--Why no idea

  • que paso con el video

  • If you look closely, you'll find all kinds of 'imperfections' on the women's faces...mostly on the darker/shadow sides. Even with their LP covers APP were pure genius.

  • The Hypgnosis effect, was the warts on the women's faces. The Veils hide them well, but once seen, become unavoidable.

    My Fave APP Album!

  • Eve is my second favourite APP album next to 'I Robot'. Damned if I Do, If I Could Change Your Mind, Winding Me Up, You Lie Down With Dogs etc..... Phenomenal album in '79!

  • Who are the woman? Cant find any infos on the net, any ideas?

  • Why does it matter?

  • I used to have this album but it was stolen from my car but its a good song dont get me wrong lol

  • my favorite group best ideas in music

    never the same.

    ohh i love them

  • who are the two women of the cover ,are the actresses its been bugging me for years

  • the only info I can locate on my old 33 rpm is that the cover design was by "Hypgnosis" and this alblum was recorded in UK in 1978 and relaesed in USA in 1979...there is a third womans face on the back cover & is not credited either.

  • Five months late perhaps?

But anyway, as far as I know, these are Smokey and Hazel, Parsons' and Woolfson's wives (at that time).

I don't know their real names, though.

  • This was i think a little too fast in 1979 (remember pure disco) So it is not the best song of APP! But who I am.....very loving APP!

  • I really don't have a favorit Alan Parson album I own everyone and love everone they are one of my favorit bands of all time

and most of the musicians that play on the albums are also on Kate Bush albums also which I also Love

  • Great Song. I know Alan Parsons Projekt 25 Year´s. Anytime GOOODIIIEE !!!!!

  • This melody surrounds me ... sensitive, naive, beautiful, like the music box that sounds.

EVE. Great album! It's one of my treasures.

I am pleased to see that i'm not the only thirty-something who takes Alan Parsons as the great artist he is.

  • Eve is my favorite APP album.

  • Thank you for posting this song colejordan123.

  • To those of you who are just discovering the Alan Parsons Project the "Definitive Collection" is very highly recommended. Did you know that Alan Parsons was the Producer of Pink Floyd's- Dark Side Of The Moon. This great talent has been so overlooked and so underated its a great shame. Very high on my list of favorites.

  • who are the two girls on the cover its been bugging me for years are they actresses or models...

  • I think the only music I heard more than Alan Parsons Project was Led Zepplin, but it was all still "dad's music"

  • Those two guys molded my childhood and made me into the person I am today. I am the Alan Parsons Project.

  • Awesome songs you have on your profile....And I love APP as well

  • I also wonder why nobody posted

"I'd Rather Be A Man". That was also

a good song, sung by David Paton.

Might you be able to post this ?

    Thanks,

    Tham

    Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

  • I never listened to "Ammonia Avenue" and

"Vulture Culture" again, after a couple of

listenings in the mid-80s. Not even sure

where I had placed these two cassettes.

I had the impression that Alan Parsons was

going downhill with the release of these

    two albums at that time.

  • Hi,

"Eve" was actually my second favourite

albums, after "I Robot", and far better

than "Ammonia Avenue", which I consider

quite mundane and one of Alan Parson's

worst albums - can't understand why

    it was so highly rated.

  • @ThamMalaysia agree!

  • Eve and Turn of a Friendly Card were good albums, listened them to death when I was stationed in Japan.

  • I agree, I just left him to his wanderings after that album.. but that song is really catchy, isn't it?

  • My favorite too. Check out National Sunday Law by Jan Marcussen and get all wound up.God bless!!!!

  • You've taken me back over 20 years ... collected all the albums on the Alan Parsons Project and he was a genius. This is one of my favourites. Thank you!

  • After he and Eric split, he has four more albums that are great. Eric has released "More Tales" and it is a quality work. They also collaborated on "Freudiana" which is a classic. Alan tours world wide with the current band "Alan Parsons Live". He is still wowing his audiences. If you have not caught him, check the web site, or check out the web site of John Montagna, his bassist.

  • GENIAL!! WORK OF ART

  • agree. awesome

  • one of my favourite APP songs!

  • I love APP.. Just love it:)

  • Love this song, one of APPs best

  • This album is wholly underrated!

  • The Alan Parsons Project is completely underrated until this day!

  • So so so incredibly true!

  • @feluxblub Because it was left mostly to feminists to rate and they didn't like the message it conjured up in the minds of men who were getting mindfucked by them.

  • @feluxblub usually good music is

  • You can tell hes Floyd influenced

  • zakatek is a master

  • Haha, I agree. I love ALL of the songs he sings in, but it must be said that the singer in this song is Chris Rainbow. =)

  • Chris Rainbow is great as well! ☺

  • @MARCOSBARCENA is Chris Rainbow that singing it lol but Zakatek did sing damn if i do

  • Comment removed

  • Chris Rainbows is the lead singer, Lenny Zakatek sing on back vocals...

  • @MARCOSBARCENA

This is one of my favorite songs of APP

  • @MARCOSBARCENA YES HE IS

  • This album is a work of genius. From the musical structure to the poetry involved down to the album cover. Everything is so deep and well thought out.

Erik Woofson was a true genuis in every sense of the word.

  • This song was part of my other life...

  • Damn,I miss this song,..really do.

  • This album was part of the fabric of my adolescence... I've followed him since his first in the 70's and though this is a great departure from his more orchestral work, it most certainly has its place in Parsons' discography. A masterpiece in many aspects... Lucifer, wow... If I could change your mind, timeless...

  • Alan Parsons is a genius, I would give anything to see him live, I have been a fan since 1978...why doesn't he come to Australia

  • You lie down with dogs, I'd rather be a man, You won't be there, winding me up, Damned if I do, Don't hold back, and If I could change your mind are the songs on this album EVE.

  • alan parsons eve was one of the best i ever heard, every song on it was awesome

  • I don't think that this album cover is ugly as said elsewhere. It deserves more visual inspection: two women in black veils, at some man's funeral??? Why two women in VEILS? Clare's black eye and sores, Leslie's sores(?). Did they drive this "poor unfortunate man" to his death?... Again, creepy and sinister...the way I like it.

  • *Why TWO women in VEILS?

And what of the woman on the back of the album cover? WTH? :)

  • I you look carefully, will see that the veil is trying to hide big leprosy scars ... the whole record is great

  • Yeah, that's what i thought. It's not a bad album cover, just... Creepy.

  • omg I am a huge fan, I love it better when Chris Rainbow sings this song

  • Yes I like that album or cd exept lucifer! for the tittle

  • The Alan Parsons project used to be a whole lot better tha it is now, those kids the new band don't play like before, those were real musicians as you all know! they are good but nothing like the guys before, take care and I hope you don't get mad at me ☺

  • I don't like the live singer... He sounds too whiny. But Ian Bairnson and Alan Parsons (and Stuart Elliot, is he still in? I can't remember) are still masters at their art, but yeah. I like all Parsons work right until 1985. After that... Yeah. then again, I haven't heard it all. Maybe some is good.

  • You might like some songs from the Try Anything Once album. My personal faves: Three of Me, Breakaway, Mr. Time, & Siren Song.

  • Jigue and Re-Jigue are great, too.

  • I have Try Anything Once coming in the mail. =)

  • If you can find it, you should listen to Freudiana. That's a great album.

  • As a matter of fact, I went to my local music store, and asked if they can order it, but the answer was negative. I haven't tried anything online yet, but yeah, I have heard that it is great as well.

  • This was by far... in my oppinion, his best album. Post more...please!

  • Agreed...I Robot, as well.

  • I was lucky enough to get the entire Project + Solo AP discography, including Freudiana and Ladyhawke, all in one big torrent. Didn't include any solo Woolfson, though. Probably still out there if you looked.

  • You are right -- comments above -- I think this album is a work of genius. I don't think most people could even grasp what Parsons was doing in these albums.

  • I agree there is nothing like this and floyd for classical rock with real meaning...today's music is dry and useless - no talent anymore.

  • Did you know that Alan Parsons was the sound Engineer on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album?

  • Yes. Probably the most talented sound engineer ever!

  • Its one of my records I can listen just over and over again! One of Alan Parsons worst work? Why? Many other albums of his are much worser in my opinion.

  • That's exactly what I thought. But If you go on progarchives, they gave one of the worst APP scores for the album. I can't understand why, though. The whole album (except perhaps I'd Rather be a Man) is great.

  • Yes it is great! What is progarchives? Do you have a link to it?

(This record was also the first album I bought on CD by the way, when the LP records was to bu substituted....)

  • Just go type progarchives dot com, and search for Alan Parsons project. They have ratings for all the albums.

  • Thanks!!!

  • I'm in Alan Parsons heaven... Keep posting all thier songs!

  • Yes, one of the best! Song I love best?

"Don't Hold Back" love the female singers...

  • Yeah, they did well on their songs. I wonder if Parsons will pull a similar act soon.

  • You've been winding me up too long... I'm over my head is it day or night... 5 stars rating and added to favorites!! Alan Parsons rocks!!

  • Hell yes!

  • This song is one of my favorites too!
