What's scary in hindsight is just how accurate this album would turn out to be. I'd never thought of it until now. I was 25 the only time I heard two women my age speak with concern for another person. The album could have been written for GenX in the Pacific Northwest. Even today, I still wonder what happened here. I'd go somewhere else and the women were completely different in attitude. Or they'd visit here and wonder what planet the women here were from.
The art work for the project ,pink floyd and others at that time was done by Hypnosis. If you look on the side of the faces of these beautiful women under their veils is a little disturbing.
The art work for the project ,pink floyd abd others at that tiem was done by Hypnosis. If you look on the side of the feaces of these beautiluf women under their veils is a little disturbing.
Where do you get the information regarding "I don,t know why this album was/is viewed as one of Parsons' worst bit of work"? Haven't heard or read that. Enjoyed the music from this album. Not too much Alan Parsons has done that I don't like. If not for the likes of Parsons, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues...et al...I'd be lost today in a world where probably 85% of the 'music' is deplorable! Let me clarify: 80% of 'music' today is not MUSIC !!!
AP has more creative juice in one hang nail than all of his critics. I IGNORE critics because music is felt in the heart and not created for talentless commentators.
I think it was before it's time. I didn't like it either, for more than a decade. In fact, I traded the album to my brother for a different one at one point. I've learned to appreciate it, though.
APP don't know how to do a 'bad' album. There are albums that you may not like..as a 'whole' but each of them have at least a couple of 'favourite' songs. And yes this track is one of my favourite off this album.. along with Damned If I Do :-)
Saludos.
Leprosy is what the women have..hence the faces with "imperfections" hidden under the vails. EVE "the forbidden fruit "per say. Great album as always!
If you look closely, you'll find all kinds of 'imperfections' on the women's faces...mostly on the darker/shadow sides. Even with their LP covers APP were pure genius.
Eve is my second favourite APP album next to 'I Robot'. Damned if I Do, If I Could Change Your Mind, Winding Me Up, You Lie Down With Dogs etc..... Phenomenal album in '79!
the only info I can locate on my old 33 rpm is that the cover design was by "Hypgnosis" and this alblum was recorded in UK in 1978 and relaesed in USA in 1979...there is a third womans face on the back cover & is not credited either.
Veo, para mi satisfacción, que los recién treintañeros aprecian en gran medida este artistazo que es Alan parsons. Crei ser el único fiel en la tribu de los plastas. I am pleased to see that i'm not the only thirty-something who takes Alan Parsons as the great artist he is.
To those of you who are just discovering the Alan Parsons Project the "Definitive Collection" is very highly recommended. Did you know that Alan Parsons was the Producer of Pink Floyd's- Dark Side Of The Moon. This great talent has been so overlooked and so underated its a great shame. Very high on my list of favorites.

You've taken me back over 20 years ... collected all the albums on the Alan Parsons Project and he was a genius. This is one of my favourites. Thank you!
After he and Eric split, he has four more albums that are great. Eric has released "More Tales" and it is a quality work. They also collaborated on "Freudiana" which is a classic. Alan tours world wide with the current band "Alan Parsons Live". He is still wowing his audiences. If you have not caught him, check the web site, or check out the web site of John Montagna, his bassist.
@feluxblub Because it was left mostly to feminists to rate and they didn't like the message it conjured up in the minds of men who were getting mindfucked by them.

The Alan Parsons project used to be a whole lot better tha it is now, those kids the new band don't play like before, those were real musicians as you all know! they are good but nothing like the guys before, take care and I hope you don't get mad at me ☺
I don't like the live singer... He sounds too whiny. But Ian Bairnson and Alan Parsons (and Stuart Elliot, is he still in? I can't remember) are still masters at their art, but yeah. I like all Parsons work right until 1985. After that... Yeah. then again, I haven't heard it all. Maybe some is good.
As a matter of fact, I went to my local music store, and asked if they can order it, but the answer was negative. I haven't tried anything online yet, but yeah, I have heard that it is great as well.

You are right -- comments above -- I think this album is a work of genius. I don't think most people could even grasp what Parsons was doing in these albums.
Its one of my records I can listen just over and over again! One of Alan Parsons worst work? Why? Many other albums of his are much worser in my opinion.

I never listened to "Ammonia Avenue" and
"Vulture Culture" again, after a couple of
listenings in the mid-80s. Not even sure
where I had placed these two cassettes.
I had the impression that Alan Parsons was
going downhill with the release of these
two albums at that time.

Hi,
"Eve" was actually my second favourite
albums, after "I Robot", and far better
than "Ammonia Avenue", which I consider
quite mundane and one of Alan Parson's
worst albums - can't understand why
it was so highly rated.
