Wonderful guitar player. Comparisons are foolish. It is important,in my opinion, to enjoy the differnence between players and find the style which you enjoy most. there happen to be a great many superb players from Jeff Beck and Hendrix through to Halen and Via and that is only the blues rock idiom.Broaden it out and there is Knoffler, Atkins, Douglas thru to wes, Jango and literally loads of others. ALL BRILLIANT. as guitar players we are so lucky. So many great great players.

Eric Johnson is simply the best, he has influenced me in so many ways over the years. He helped me to realize that having diversity, and a large vocabulary on the fretboard was more imprtant than being able to hit 1,000,000,000,000,000 notes per second.
