Guys let's stop talking about race here and start appreciating good clothes. Everybody is tired to know that Brazil is like USA, majority are whites but there also natives, blacks, Japanese all mixed, just depends where you are. Of course, if you are on north of Brazil it tends to have more mixed race population, differently than Southern/South of Brazil. But that's not the case, appreciate the lovely emerging designers which comes from this country and forget about race!

Of course the distribution varies greatly from state to state.

@leebolo76 Brazil is a highly multiethnic (and multifaith) country, akin to the US. I'm from an italian/portuguese family myself. That said, I wouldn't mind the least if we indeed had more black people then white ones, but that's just not what I see around here (São Paulo). In my own social circle for instance, there are way more asians then blacks.

There are however lots of mixed people, as should be expected.

Global media just isn't the best source from wich to learn about an entire country.
