MOST bacteria are good for you, and you would die if they weren't around. Your skin is constantly covered in bacteria that serve a number of functions to keep you healthy.
Washing your hands before touching your eyes, mouth, etc. is probably a good idea because you don't know what kind of bacteria you may have touched, but that's a far cry from saying bacteria are all bad.
The biggest source of Ultra Violet light is the Sun: "Sunlight is the best disinfectant". it is amazing how technology just confirms what your grandma has told you for years. Not that you want to "Sun bath" your Smart phone, but it just proves that sunlight does work.
limited exposure to UVA / UVB is okay cos they are used in the treatment of skin problems like psoriasis~ prolonged treatment in a single sitting will give sunburn though~
* UV-A = 315 to 400 nm. 345 to 400 nm = used for "Black light" effects. 315 to 345 nm = are used for suntanning (some sun lamps also generate UV-B) * UV-B = 280 to 315 nanometers. Hazardous! Largely responsible for sunburn. * UV-C = 200 to 280 nm. Dangerous! Used to kill germs. * Vacuum Ultraviolet - 10 to 200 nm
I would imagine people would associate exposure to UV lights with harmful UV rays from the Sun because they have the same name...why are people so blind?
bacteria is nothing compared to the Mercury and Ozone from those UV lamps.
Geez... mercury and ozone from the UV lamps are way more dangerous thatn the bacteria that you've been living with without any problems so far. You might get sick and call in sick or go to the toilet more often (probably once every five years) with bacteria. If you experience mercury or ozone, you will never be the same again, ever. Bacteria is your friend if one of those bulbs ever break or ozone is absorbed.
At least in Germany a physcist would regard this as wrong. It's simply electromagnetic radiation. Also not "Röntgen light" but "Röntgen radiation". What your mobile phone emmits could be called "light", but no one would do that.
Well sure, in the end it doesn't matter what people here (youtube) think. Physicists don't call these radiation light. The german wikipedia even explicitly mentions that UV radiation is not light. I should update the english version as well I guess.
It's not number of bacteria that counts. it's what KIND that would count. And of you want less HARMFUL bacteria, then use some disinfectant cleaner to tidy up a room and wash your hands. It's cheaper than a 80$ wand, and it'll last longer too.
There already working on some machine that passes your blood through a high levels of UV, That might cure aids hepatitis, & other Illnesses. Idk much, I heard about it in the news. : /
