i'm out in california, and it's getting to be pretty common. i dated a few black women and there are a lot of interesting, unexpected similarities in culture, i thought. there are some theories as to the racialized targeting of both black women and asian men being least "desirable" for a whole different set of reasons. that sociologically somehow the numbers add up in that way. i was surprised to see it's a whole youtube phenomenon. i guess it's the whole Akira's Hip Hop Shop thing....
