  • Neil Schon is probably as good as Satriani, or Steve Vai, or Van Halen, but Journey was always more about the songs than freakish solo indulgence. To each his own though!

  • Another incredible rendition ! Your unreal and your talent shines ! Keep on playing ! Great effects

  • Nailed it ! . . .

  • Sick guitar man

  • Awesome, just like all your stuff. This is one of my favorite rock songs of all time and you nailed it.

  • Kind of doing your own thing, huh?

  • What are the main chords that you use in the intro?

  • @dillpickle327 you must've not been playing long... G, D, C

  • @MegaFartsickle Very beginner

  • Very nice!

  • That's good fun to watch...close to the original, not too far off track, and a real nice improv at the end...keep that coming...like to see more.

  • wow! you're awesome man!!!

  • Literally get chills listening to that solo at the end. Thanks for posting.

  • Nice job Man!!! Well done.....I like the improve :)

  • Damn! That instrument has such a strong fat sound. Great job.

  • I like how you faded out. That cover gave me the chills lol. Besides that Stagemaster do you have a Pacer or Striker or anything Kramer lol? And if you do which one is better. Because I REALLY want a Kramer badly.

  • i am sure I am not the only one to watch craigman play and wish I had half the skill set and the tone he has. Craigman, just keep pumping out the tunes and we will keep enjoying them. Thanks. PS. Mix in a little George Lynch brother.

  • damn I listen to this song being performed more by Craigman than by freaking original band!

Good work craig... love the style.

  • Damn, thanks tzo...

  • Craigman65 I'm not mad at you... It just reminds me of this old guy that worked at a music store. I was at the store purchasing a MXR Phase 90... The geezer told me, instead of buying all these effects, you should probably spend more time practicing . I was 12 at the time and he was right, I made damn sure to go and show him up two years later, and I did. I know now he was not coming off as an asshole, just constructive criticism... I thank that asshole today.

  • The funny thing is... I'll come back here in 3 years, and there will be no revision, btw... The lower notes at the beginning of solo are all bends. My point is... If you have nothing to contribute as far lessons, tips, helpful hints, your just an attention whore. "How you doing"

  • you want to sell that kramer stagemaster

  • Never!

  • @Craigman65 haha what a question... xD

  • I don't want to an a**hole, but I'm going to be. Why is it that every mediocre guitar player or musician pat themselves on the back by posting a vid on Youtube? I played that solo note for note, with feel and style when I was 16 years old. Guitar players... If your note ready put out emotion and feeling from those fingers, your not ready to post a guitar solo vid on Youtube.

  • You're right, I'm not ready... but I've never patted myself on the back for anything in life. Everyone's told me I'm nothing but a loser, and they're right, but at least on youtube, I'm anonymous....

  • Hey Dickhead......I mean "frostedhead"...... he did a good job. You called him out for patting himself on the back for posting a vid on youtube when you apparently pat yourself on the back by maddogging other players. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Have a wonderful fuckin' day. And as for Craigman65, keep on rockin' man! You played very well!

  • Thanks highroller, glad you liked. Youtube is just for fun, at least for me it is...

  • sounds like your patting yourself on the back by bragging about playing that when you were 16. who cares how old are you? is that supposed to make you some kind of musical prodigy or something. get off your fucking high horse because the only feeling and emotion coming from your fingers are you typing useless comments on someones video when you know they are better than you.

  • @alex814

Maybe if you didnt sit in your moms livingroom/daycare center and basement, in the dark, recording murder metal bands all day, (and night?) you wouldnt be so bitter alex!

Please quit recording on custody days, youre supposed to be spending time w/ that kid!

  • are you serious man?? his playing was fucking awesome, craigman dont listen to a fuckin word this morons saying

  • you went yngwie on the end,,,,,

  • Very nice. Very much dig the Kramers too!!

  • Well done!, the foot work on that MXR gets you extra marks. Looks like like a compressor, maybe? In any event damn fine chops and the great tone!

  • you did a great job. solo out sucked. the rest good.

  • dude....at the end I had a grin ear to ear. NICE JOB

  • Hey bro, you OWNED that - woo! Digging the leads at the end.. I just redid mine and posted again too.

  • You're one of my favorite guitarists on youtube. You're playing is exceptional.

  • Very nice man. I love Journey, and this is my favorite song and you NAILED IT!!

  • Wow!!! That is brilliant. I absolutely love that song and your cover kicks A! I love the studio version and your cover at 2:30; Jonathon Caine's piano and Neal's guitar are beautifuly synched and produced a cosmic tone that is dreamy. Good times & Good job!

  • Dude, you ROCK! My kinda guitar player! Kicking ass on this like ya wrote it! Keep on Jammin!

  • dude u seriously are rock!! Ahem! like u really need to do more Journey!!!! Keep rocking the free world man!!! 10 Starz!!!!!!

  • Awesome job dude!

  • Great job as always man !

  • Dude...If I could play like that I'd never stop!!!

I'm hoping to find someone playing the bass part to this song. I think it's the most incredible sounding guitar part on any song. RAW!!!!!

  • how long have you been playing?

  • I didn't play for over 10 years. Then youtube got me started again.

  • so how long have you been back at it. I'm doing the same thing cause my GF encouraged me.

  • dude you rock awesome job

  • awesome !5 stars...hey any possibility of posting a lesson for us newbies on how to play this (even just the intro would great) ? thanks!

  • ON THE FRICKEN MONEY!!!!! HOLY SH*T!

  • Is the ADA-MP1 the preamp that was really popular in the late 80s? I remember alot of guys using an ADA tube preamp.

  • Thats the one

  • nice job for sure....i have checked out several of your videos you are a very good player keep up the good work!

  • Alright dude, looks like we have very similar taste - I am definitely sub'ing now. I am actually working on re-learning this song (used to play it 20 years ago when I was a teenager) and found your vid. Very nice performance again and I am really digging your tone. What kind of amp/effects are you using?

  • May I ask where you get your tabs?

  • I couldn't find any good tabs for this song.

  • It's a Cadd9, not a C9. A C9 is a dominant chord and would have a Bb in it too.

  • sweeeet

  • Ooops. I meant G, D, C9.

  • I guess:) ???

  • Nice! Would that be G, C, D9?

  • nice fat solo there at the end...well done, mate. Is that a Kramer or Charvel? I can't tell.

  • Kramer

  • nice cover love it

  • pretty damn sweet man

  • Thanks Bud

  • Nice!

  • Thanks Fan
