  • There's an OMG!!! in every LC tune. This one's at 2:07 for me. Soooo cool.

  • great track. anybody know who the bass player is?

  • @zurckoni maybe chris kent...

  • @a7xflo Yep, sure is

  • TELE CARLTON!! :-))

  • tasty, very tasty !

  • Oh, so sweet. This is music! Wonderful band.

LC has the gift to be able to blend everything, R'n'B, Country, Jazz, Blues into every solo and play with soulfulness.

No wonder he was the most requested session man for decades.

  • the Groove! the Groove!

  • If this doesn't make you feel good, call your doctor!

  • Tight wonderful blues ... wonderful organ/bass support ...

  • Sweet sounding. I love you Larry. :)

  • A classic example of how to play blues-rock in a band. No shredding, but a wealth of memorable and musical playing by Larry Carlton. It is also a lesson to see that he gets 'his sound' no matter what axe he uses.

  • great Larry... but surprised, despite best efforts he got this much out of a Tele. eh....

  • That's a Tele in the hands of a guy who loves it

  • Great performance nonetheless, but it just doesn't sound right without the SAX.

  • how do you think Michael McDonald feels being turned into a guitar sound ?

  • thanks for clarifying!

  • wayman tisdale on bass????

  • @bigmowerman3 Larry Carlton - guitar; Rick Jackson - keyboards; Chris Kent - bass; Moyes Lucas - drums

  • @6x47 Dream band?

  • Love you Larry! Thanks for posting this omanta08!!

  • Great Version of Minute by Minute, Larry is great and his CD have exelent quality of sound recording, thats why sound better this song tha the original, Michale Mc DOnald and Dobbie Brothers original Version.

LArry is super. in his style.

  • you can't compare great guitar players.

each follows the groove as they hear it.

the best, the best, the best, and on and on into nauseating ad infitinitum.

  • @journey46 you are 100% right.

  • thats a really nice guitar he used in this video

  • Chris Small on drums?

  • all this talk about carlton and santana.. they all learned from mike bloomfield

  • @MANPORT555:You cCant seriously compare Carlton with Santana guitaristish.Maybe Santana had a few hits ,but Carlton is the King of Jazz ,Rock and Pop-Guitar!!!!!!

  • buenisimo

  • Genius

  • WillieThePimp what about Zappa? comon dude

  • I saw Larry Carlton for the 1st time in the seventies, live in concert with the Jazz Crusaders. It was at the Greek Theater (an outdoor venue) in Berkeley (Berserkeley as it was known then) Ca. Al Jarreau was also on the bill. Underneath a full moon, I was totally blown away and have been a diehard Larry Carlton fan since. What a beautiful, wonderful and unforgettable night!

  • those fukin fake bontempi keyboards ruin just about every gig over the last 20 years or so they S U C K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'll have to agree. He's playing them well though. And what about Miles' 80's peroid, lotta keys there too

  • Larrys guitar playing is just ooooh sooooooo

"PHENOMENOMAL" and the 'Keyboard' and 'Bass' players are "Fantastic".

  • love it

  • Should add perhaps that his Dumble amps may just have something to do with his sound...

  • Man, Larry could play a turd with banjo strings and make it sound awesome!

  • Ah - the old Fender 'Turdocaster Deluxe'. Very hard to find one these days...

You are correct of course 'Chooseyourblues'. Larry Carlton is one of those players who has an instantly recognisable sound and style.

Once saw Santana on a talk show who picked up his PRS and played it acoustically (No amp...) and you could hear instantly it was him. The mark of a truly unique player. Think LC would fall into this category..?

  • Without doubt Ahpollyolly, both Larry and Carlos... in fact what separates any of the 'worlds greatest' players from others who may have similar levals techincal ability is unique 'style' and 'tone'. While having a dumble helps, its all in the fingers man.

Like the famous story of ted Nugent plugging in to Eddie Van Halen's rig back in the Van Halen Club days. When Ted hit a note; 'Eruption Part deux' did not radiate from the speakers, simply uncontrollable feedback. But it was magic for Ed...

  • I agree. He could play a swineola and make it sound righteous. Swineola? That's strings stretched over a hog's ass...

  • Just blows me away that LC can play any guitar and get the same tasteful feel....

Hear him play Room 335 on a Strat....just as awesome as when he uses his 335....Looks like a 52' Tele he's playing here (luck man...)

  • Great stuff.

  • This was the same festival that Earth, Wind, & fire performed.
