VR was something that was promised over 15 years ago with those bulky headsets, why did that never go anywhere?

Get this stuff out there for games PLEASE! Survival horrors and the like would be taken to a whole new level. Not necessarily the entire body, just a head mounted display.

This technology has a big down side, you need a VERY big room in order to use this technology in any game or bigger virtual environment. Unless you can have a moving floor.

Since there's a lot of research being done on surround sound headsets, why don't you use that instead of 22 speakers? This I believe would reduce spatial (physical) limitation? Not complaining, just pointing out the obvious.
