Nightmare at Heathrow

I remember that I was on my way to Newark and I was stuck there for 2 hours it was horrid

Flew in Summer 2007 and departure was perfect, quick queues and a normal experience. However on the way back it was chaos, there was huge queues literally everwhere, the toilets, the elevators, passport checks, security checks.

I got caught last year at Edinburgh airport filming the terminal and got told to stop filming or I'd be in trouble has that ever happened to anyone at Heathrow or other airports round the world. I had my video camera filming our holiday weren't doing anything bad but their excuse was I could have a terrorist doing a reckie me no way hosay!!!! Ans that was just filming in the terminal so I could watch when I got home.

I partially agree, but I know some people who originated in England and are friendly. If you really think the British are rude, then be glad that you are not in the 1700s, where Britain was the enemy to the Colonies (now the US), as I learned in history class last year.

i have never seen heathrow with every checkout fully staffed. they have a row of say 12 checkouts but only 2 people operating them. Pathetic for a busy airport. England is going downhill everywhere. IF they can't even run a mcdonalds without hitches what hope have they got for an airport. Even the mcdonalds in the uk are dirty and innefficient. The fas food outlets in canada an america are always properly staffed and efficient. what is it with britain.

Agreed (although I've never been there), since I can tell lines are very ridiculous, possibly due to a lack of workers; worse than the worst line I've experienced at JFK Airport in New York City. I still have a bad memory of the fact that YouTube user massdimatteo (likely one of the workers at Heathrow) calling me stupid in a rude way, as you can see in one of the comments in this video, if you look deeply enough.

so you have to queue for a bit longer than you'd like grow up a bit and realise it's important to take safety measures. certainly if queues were always this long they'd need to make changes but you said yourself it was new security policies course there is gonna be a wait. sick of people like you complaining because authorities are trying to keep people safe. discomfort at the airport is a lot worse than a bomb is it?

The problem is that the security is banning liquids (even water!) into planes so the lines are getting longer and slower. Heathrow is very busy. And think about the line to Kingda Ka, the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster located in Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. People wait up to 3 hours in that line for only 25 seconds worth of thrill!
