@ranjithgs1988 I have worked with Raju many times and he confirm he never played it...He says he is a western Sax player and not a carnatic saxist like Kadri Sir! However he played the Anjali Anjali theme in the same film!

@ammeter No1's denying wat Kadri has done... he is definitely a great guy wid his instrument... also der s another sax player involved.. its actually a combo of 2 ppl...

but dats not d point.. its not a blame game dude.. m just concerned y it is sed dat ARR didn't do anything here...!! If anything, FYI he was the guy who started crediting every musician down to the assistants on the tape from Roja. That practice was unheard of till ARR.

Ya you are right.. Rahman was the guy who started crediting many people.. not the assistants and all.. There is a reason . Everyone contributes to a single song.. Actually it is a team work.. Rahman allows everyone in the team to include their own ideas.. If guitar prasanna is performing a song for Rahman he will be doing some improvisation for the song.. For that he should claim credit.. But MSV, Raaja every music bar they compose..

One more reason Rahman periodla instruments are very less used and more loops used.easily you can credit 10 members in the audio cover..Old times many instruments used.. you can't give credit to 30 or 40 members for the audio cover just for playing the notes given by the composer.,one more thing though rahman give the credit to the people who contribute to the song many rahman fans won't give credit to those people.Though it doesn't matter to those people, it shows their attitude..

@ammeter Hey brother... I admire both MSV and Il:ayaraja for wat dey are. But I'd also like to point out a few things.

First, Illayaraja had a reputation as a BAD paymaster.

Secondly, just because someone is a music director, that doesn't mean that they know the instrument better than the player himself. That's another reason why several talents thrive with ARR. He respects them to know their instrument better than him.

@ammeter And who said that Illayaraja never used midi sequencing!! 1985 - Punnagai Mannan... the first ever album to feature 'computer music' as they called it. It was a sequencer device. ARR figured out the device and taught Illayaraja how to use it and in fact programmed for him. While 'mudhal muraiyaga computer isai' and stuff was there on the tape, I wonder why Dilip Kumar was not mentioned!

I don't see Dilip's name anywhere, And mind you, this is from my father's collection (bought from when it was released). And der s a diff between Moog synth & sequencer if that's what u r trying to say. And Raaja's raw use of moog was never graceful. It would do you good if u check ur facts as well loser. @ammeter Also, ARR credits musicians when he uses an orchestra. He uses a morphus of sounds. It's not just a bunch of loops as you state them brother, but a LOT more.

And making music with loops, I assure you is not an easy job as well.

I really do not want to draw comparison between him and the others because I don't believe in comparing talent, but the mark of a real creative person is to be broad minded. All this programming technology was well available before AR

There was nothing A R Rahman did in this…It was composed & played by Saxophone player Pathmabhooshan Kadri Gopalnath in Ragam Kalyana Vasantham – A R rahman only recorded it……
