I wonder - is it possible to find some pieces of "Fedora" (by U.Giordano) - with Baltsa and Carreras? I read in some review they were wonderful there. My dream is - the final of that opera performed by these two great artists. ..

well, i dont recognize the production from this angle, is it really Vienna? but i sure remember seeing Agnes and Mara Zampieri here, they were fantastic!! applause till the iron curtain came down, then we were booing ;-)

i also remembered that they both wouldnt sign autogramms :-(

unlike edita gruberova who occupied the porters hut because there were so many who wanted one! :D ahh, good old days :D

I. too. love Agnes Baltsa and I love the opera. I have sung in the chorus of all 3 of Donizetti's "Queen" operas and "Maria Stuarda" was by far my favorite. I did this with Summer Opera Theater Company of Washington, DC in 1989 and listening to this just brings back all kinds of memories.

Bravo coloraturafan! This is magnificient!! This is one of Agnes' best belcanto parts alongside her Romeo, Adalgisa, Favorita, Rosina, Cenerentola and Isabella. I wish the Vienna State Opera will unlock their archive and issue this DVD. The production originated from English National Opera with Janet Baker and Rosalind Plowright. While they were great, I think Agnes and Edita in this production are very special !! Many many thanks and I wish you Happy Chinese New Year of the Tiger!!

I love Agnes Baltsa & this was beautiful. But is this a pirated video recording ? Why is this filmed from above the stage ? Feels like the view point of the Phantom of the Opera lol
