Any idea how to fix a malfunctioning dock (I can erase and move icons but once I restart the changes don't take. I created a new user account which works fine though) and malfunctioning system preferences (Allows me to select desktop image but desktop image doesn't change to what I selected)? I own a mac Pro desktop 2008 which had a faulty video card that mac replaced but now I have these issues I mentioned. Im going nuts. I have tried erasing the .plist files and no luck.

The killall command is an old unix command that kills applications by name.

The reason it relaunches is because the app is flagged as autospawn. If you killed the terminal, it would just shut down and not come back up. It only comes back because it's the dock.

if youre a android user, or you have seen the "droid" commercials, try: say -v "Cellos" "droid"

if you prefer some robots in the sky, try: say -v "Cellos" "transformers"

and the classical: say -v "zarvox" "all youre base are belong to us" enjoy :)

You can alway copy and paste different icons under "get info" (just right-click the icon you want to change) A YouTuber named iTalkApple did a good tutorial on it. She's in my Sub list if you want to check it out.
