  • Hi there tomiko09! thanks for watching my video and for your sweet comment!! I'm so happy to hear from you!!

You may use this on brows...all facial hair, but, with the brows, be careful to do little spots at a time...just say I'm speaking from experience. LOL :0)

You can use this even if you have pimples, but, be careful to avoid sugaring over the areas which are presently at a "head" or sensitive at the time...I break out every too sometimes and the sugaring has been great 4 me! :0

  • oh, and yes, flour is just fine in place of the cornstarch!! :0) great question!! have a great evening!! Nina

  • You have a BEAUTIFUL smile :D

  • Hello there caylierae27! Thank you!!! And thanks for watching my video too!! :0) :0)

  • you are VERY welcome!

I did it yesterday and it worked sooo well!

Is it supposed to be so hot?

because the only part that really hurt me was the heat of the wax!

  • Good afternoon caylierae27! I'm so excited to hear it worked well! I usually blow it and wait a few minutes...sometimes, I allow the sugar to cool off so much so that I end up having to reheat it for another 5 seconds or so. It can be quite hot, so you'll want to dip your spoon or whatever you're using into the container, blow the sugar well, wait a few seconds...be careful to check it a bit. :)

I'm so glad u r happy w/ the sugaring, it's exciting to use a beauty secret u make ur self!:)Nina

  • Thank you very much! Sounds good!

and you are so right! I didnt want to pay for a wax, Im so young! So this is just perfect, and cheap, and super effective! I appreciate your videos! :D

  • LOL, you're such a delightful person. You kept smiling throughout the entire video lol.

I have all of the ingredients for sugaring besides the paper. What type of strips do you use? Thank you! =)

  • Hello there momodani7, thanks for watching my video!!! You can use plain cloth fabric, something made of cotton is best and it can be just a cut up old piece of cloth...really nothing expensive or hard to find. :0) I used an old bed sheet I purchased from a garage sale which had a bunch of holes in it... :) take care and thanks for your kindness!!! :0) Nina

  • Thank you so much for the info! =)

  • Hi there!

    You're welcome!

    Have a great evening!!!

    Nina :0)

  • does this really work???

  • Yep! :0) And it works great!! I'm hooked on sugaring! ;)

    thanks for watching my video!

  • GREAT INFORMATION. A+

  • Hi there!!

    thank you!!!

  • what kind of cloth should i use?

  • Hello there and thanks for watching my video! You can use a cotton cloth such as muslin or something like an old pillow case or shirt...just as long as it's not too stretchy and that is isn't treated with a fabric softener. :0) thanks again! Nina

  • Is there a specific cloth to be used? Does it have to be exactly like what you used?

  • Hi there!

You can use an old t-shirt material or really anything made of cotton...even a cotton/polyester mix will work. I used a cut up bed sheet (from a garage sale). I'm pretty thrify...you can almost any small piece of cloth as long as it's not too stretchy. :0) thanks! Nina

  • wow, i don't have much facial hair but i can show my friend now ^^

and btw, i love your teeth!

    did you have braces?

  • Hi there and thanks for watching my video! how are ya?

Thanks!! I never had braces, however, as a child, I always wanted to get braces like a few of my friends because I thought they looked really neat. (smiling)

You're so sweet! thanks for the kind words! :0)

  • Does it hurt? Can you do the eyebrow area? How long does the hair have to be to work? Sorry so many Q's. I've never even tried waxing before...looks way better then shaving!

  • Hello tamichambers, thanks for watching my video. :0) It stings a bit, but, it's over in seconds; usually, after sugaring the first or second time; it's pleasant or not bad at all. The eyebrow can be done pretty easily, I usually apply the sugar with the end of one of my blush brushes or something just as small. It's quite nice once you get the hang of it. :0) The hair needs to be longer than stubble, but not much longer than that...I sugar my face and the hair is very short; does quite well.

  • :0) I love questions, I feel happy being able help in any way I can. Shaving is something you have to do more often, you run the risk of cuts and scrapes. With sugaring, the hair comes in finer (in appearance) and lighter (usually the case). It's fun and quick and your skin will feel super smooth. It's almost as nice as a facial! My sister sugars her entire face and she really likes the results. I love sugaring my brows and unibrow area. (smiling) thanks for watching my video. keep in touch!

  • That's better than razor cuts!

  • :0) I'm so glad sugar is kind to the skin...ahhhh...no razors for me! ;) thanks for watching my video!!! :0) Nina

  • why do you use cornstarch ?

  • hi purplefan26, that's a great question...

the cornstarch helps to absorb any existing moisture or oil that is present; it's amazing how moist or oily our skin is and we aren't aware of it...also, the cornstarch helps the sugar move freely over the skin and not leave sticky residue (that some people may experience depending on the humidity level) :0) thanks for watching my video!!! have a great weekend!! Nina

  • I'm gonna try it tonight :D

    keep smiling!

  • :o) Thank you so much for watching my video!! :0)

  • beautiful smil thnx sis

  • Thank you brother! :0)

  • yes, that will work just fine! :0) take care

  • jw, can you do it on the eyebrows??

  • oh yes! It's great for brows!! When I'm feeling up to it, I've arched them using the sugar and they come out great if I take my time. :0)

  • cool ^.^ me and my friends will try it out sometime

  • thanks for watching my video!! :0) cool!!

    :0)

  • im going to try this, oh and one question i don't want to use a bed sheet so could a old normal t-shirt work if i cut it up into strips.

  • Hi there,

oh yes, that'll work also...no problem! :0) thanks for watching my video!!!!!

    :0) Nina

  • hey i was wondering what kind of cloth did u use

  • Hey there! thanks for watching my video!

I used 100% cotton strips...I actually cut up an old bed sheet that I purchased at a garage sale...no kidding. :0) take care!! Nina

  • im from malaysia.

its way too cute see u in the vid.

ur so optimist and it's very convincing.wanna try ur technique.thanx darl.

    xoxo

  • hehehe

Thank you sooo much for watching my video! I sure do appreciate you kindness! :0) you are so welcome!

    bye doll

    xoxo

  • I'm making this recipe today! hopefully it comes out right! I went some place where the lady threads and sugars. I will continue to have her thread my eyebrows because I like the shape. I will try this for my chin and upper lip. I see little black dots that look like stubble on my chin area... do you think this is a result of threading?!? I would think that with sugar it can come out less and less and finer but with threading I don't think that the texture of the hair will actually change.

  • thanks!!!

  • really soory for my spelling im a bit dizzy lol

  • :)) Oh, what wax did you use before...was it that blue stuff? A friend of mine from my neighborhood tried to bikini wax with that and she's vowed she'll never attempt it again. LOL I hope she's alright!

  • yeah that that stuff is nasty , and it hurts soooo much

right now im doing laser, its very expensive but definitive.

it vary from 6 to 8 session and at least 6 weeks beetween every meeting

  • i love ur videos and all... but isnt dangerous to use that technique for sensitice zones like ur face, bcoz, i used to wax my navel ( upper pubis, just under teh belly bottom) and my armpits ,i think im a bit darker than u ,and now i have a nasty disgusting black stains there.

so are u not afraid to have stain on ur face after that ? i better save up for laser, ive been total disgusted by waxing

  • Hi there!!

Oh, I've been sugaring for well over ten years...actually about 17 or 18 years...that makes me feel and sound ancient! :) (I'm feeling too mature) hehehe

I don't know if I'm just lucky or if it's because I'm using natural ingredients, but, I haven't ever had dicoloration, ingrown hairs or bumps from the sugaring so far. Tell me, if you do laser, how many treatments does it take? I have always been curious about it. :)

  • Nina...thanks for the video & info. Never thought to use the sugaring on my upper lip...again thanks!!

    Pat from London, ON Canada.

  • Hello Pat! You are so welcome!!

I love the results and even those itty bitty hairs that are peach fuzz come off very well. I love it!! My daughters laugh when they see me twisting my mouth and sugaring. LOL Thanks for watching my video.

  • You are so lucky you have barely any facial hair. I got hair everywhere and have to shave every day. Its a pain in the ass.

  • :) hehehe

I didn't feel that lucky when I sugared my upper lip. LOL (smiling) You must try my magic sugar! lol

  • Haha but I still say you are lucky!!

  • :0):0)

  • for some reason i tried to do my sugar waxing with the strips that i bought from sallys it seems like i must have got the wrong ones, which ones should i get?

  • Hey there! You can use plain cotton strips...just 100% cotton. I used a piece of a no longer used pillow case. It needs to be free of fabric softeners and that will be all you need. No need to spend any money on the beauty supply ones if you don't want. You can just cut up an old sheet or pillow case, make sure it's not one of those fabrics that stretches. :) let me know what you think. :0) Nina

  • are you only allowed to use them 1 time??

  • Hello!great question my friend...actually, I reuse them over and over. Normally, I soak the strips in warm water (and wash by hand) or wash in a lingerie bag (in machine, which isn't necessary). I usually just lay them over a coat hanger to air dry. I love reusing them, I'm way frugal when I can be. :) LOL

  • lol! you look so cute doing this! thanks for the tutorial sis! super easy! :) have you ever sugared your entire face (except your eyebrows)? lol.

  • :0) I haven't sugared my entire face...yet, but, that's an idea! :) lol...

actually, once, I was at a salon and I had my brows sugared there, the girl accidentally put too much on and thinking she removed the excess sugar...I ended up with only a tiny dot of hair for my left brow! I had to draw a brow on for months before it came back in. LOL

that, I can laugh about now, but, I think I was wanting to sugar her brows for messing mine up! lol :0) thanks for watching!! :) you're so sweet!
