  • That's so very pretty. Would like to go to NC one day. :)

  • @Daffodil2love Thanks so much

  • @dmccoig My pleasure :) I have viewed many clips of NC and I really enjoy seeing the different seasons. Here in Australia the leaves generally stay the same colour so it's lovely seeing the fall leaves. This looks like an awesome place to visit. I would also like to go to the Cherokee village and the little town where Andy Griffith grew up. I do hope to be able to come to NC at the end of next year *smiles* mainly to see the snow. Thanks for the sub and the friendship. O, PS my name is Debbie

  • You call this a castle? This is a cottage. Go to Europe if you want to see real castles!

  • were is this castle

  • go up to your URL bar, put a Q between the words you and tube and then press enter or click go

  • i loveeee the castle! i live like, 3 minutes down the street from it :)

  • Kevin, your hilarious. Keep doing what your doing brother.........Son we live in a world that has internets, and those internets have to be saturated with Walken impersonations. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Pollak? Well, you do it best so welcome to the internets.

  • very nice

  • WOW! that was cool. I love anything with a good story, and this has one. GOOD JOB

  • I perform in their Oz and Christmas festivals. Such a cool place. :)

  • lol you got an accent like my friend

  • Great video!

  • GOOD one sir. I always enjoy what you do! Sorry if I am slow sometimes. LOL!

  • Ha Thanks lonleyboy,

That is quite alright, I am the slowest responder on the site!

  • Not you, ME!!! LOL!

  • oh yes, mui belo, yes!!!!Clauber

  • she is not a very informed guide.. lots of buildings are on the national register

  • yes.. maggie gyllenhaal(?)

  • Rebuilt by Richard Harris....the actor?

  • AKA Abraham!

  • I would like to express my horror on hearing the guide agree, having just said "all I know is that he was a Cornish engineer", when you said "so he was Scottish.

    CORNWALL IS NOT IN SCOTLAND.

CORNWALL is closer to England than Scotland. If he is Cornish, he is definitely NOT SCOTTISH!

  • I believe you are correct, the history that is know says that he brought with him the Architecture of England, but seeing that

Clan Mcculloch is such a prominent Scottish name, I suppose its fair to say he was of Scottish origin with a background of being a Cornish engineer. I think my own (Scots-Irish) bias probably leaned toward Scottish, over English, but you have every reason to be horrified. We here in the South like that same distinction with folks from other places.

    Thanks

  • Thank you, I would like to apologise if my previous comment was offensive. It was certainly not my intention to insinuate anything more than a simple error. As a Cornishman, I feel strongly about the distinction between Cornwall and other parts of the UK. Without launching into a political agenda - it's felt in Cornwall that we are a nation within the UK rather than part of England. It is denied here and I have no reason to expect wider knowledge, it can however become upsetting. Again I'm sorry

  • No apology needed, we count ourselves as Appalachian Americans and fully understand importance of "place"

  • Yes I know. We Americans are supposed to know absolutely everything about every other culture, and when we make a simple error, it is a horrible travesty and we must be nationalist pigs and such and such.

It's really getting old and pathetic. We're people just like anyone else, and we make mistakes.

  • Further I would like to apologise to you Philly1330, you must often run into this problem and clearly have strong feelings about it. Indeed it was just a simple mistake and certainly not a nationwide agenda. Far be it from me to expect anyone who wishes to make comment on my own homeland to take the time to find out about it.

  • @monochromicity He might have been a Scottish engineer who went to Cornwall.

  • The female guide is quite pretty.

  • Very interesting,I have been to NC many time's,but i never knew they had anything like this.I also never knew that had gol in NC.

  • Hello! I have a goal of 100 Subscribers by Christmas I would love it if you could help me reach it! Could you Please Subscribe to help me reach my Goal... I do Stop Motions!

  • This is gorgeous, next time I go to NC- I will go to see it. Thank you

  • Cool Castle.

Cornwall is in the southwest of England and I'm guessing that Charles T. McCulloch is spinning in whatever grave he is occupying since the last time I checked, Scotland was still a country to the north of England.

  • very interesting castle

  • Very interesting video.

  • 이야~ 멋지네요^^!

  • a cojoni inglesi fateme na sega aha

  • my wife and I were married at the Castle

  • Occasions Floral, of High Point, has done a wonderful job of decorating the castle! Always top notch!!

  • 视频太卡...

  • Very Cool.

  • Wow! It's been a goal to build a castle here in california and this video just makes me yearn it more! Beautifully produced and informative. Favorited!

  • Very cool. Love the music, little on the creepy side...kinda made me feel like they have some lil' Scottish kids locked up in the basement and at night they're forced to scour the grounds for gold and are rewarded with Saltines. (Sorry if I just blew your cover, Castle)

  • Ha, (I've got nothing else to add to the undercover Scottish Kids mining gold for crackers theme) Maybe Bono will have a concert to stop such atrocities.

  • This is some really interesting stuff. Cool video!

  • Thanks so much campbreezybeach

  • 很好得!不错!!

  • I am just guessing here, but thank you?

  • October 24, 2008

Good informative video. Well done, Dan.

  • Thank You Thomas ,

I need to make some time to view your epic, Hum, it looks fascinating as I am sure it is.

  • As always, very interesting! Who needs to go to Scotland, anyway? 5 travel stars!

  • Ha, we would love to go, but I am concerned about the food over there. I would have a hard time going from eating Biscuits and Gravy to eating sheep parts, but maybe they have something more interesting, I'll have to look up Scottish Recipes and see.

  • That is so cool!...Who knew there were castles in North Carolina?...Until you told us about it...Great episode!

  • Hey thanks Daniel,

I saw you had some new stuff posted, just haven't gotten over there to see and hear it yet, How are things next to the tracks?

We still cant wait to get over to the new Lincoln Museum, at this rate I will be very old by the time we do.

  • Next year would have been Abe Lincoln's 200th birthday...However the celebration is now in peril because lack of funding from the State of Illinois is threatening to close several of the most important Lincoln sites...Including the Vandalia Statehouse...where young Lincoln began his political career...From what i hear the Lincoln Museum is wonderful...As for me...every time i walk down the street i am walking where Lincoln walked.

  • That was pretty neat, I'll have to go see that castle sometime. Keep up the good work!!

  • Hey Kid,

I hear you'll be in Tennessee this weekend!

Yall are going to have to get over to NC and eat some BBQ with us. Jan is excited about doing some welding when you get your gear set up.

  • Yeah we're here right now, I got all my stuff with me I just need a place to set it up, and something to work on of course lol, hope to see you soon.

  • Flame On!

  • That's right lol

  • very interesting vid again, wow you really travel a lot. i luv castles :)

  • Thank You Thaly,

Did you enter the Music contest for the next female singer?

  • Very enjoyable!

  • Thanks AZSF,

How are things out your way?

  • Get rich, why not!!

  • Taxes are the only reason I can think of as an objection to getting rich.

  • Can't wait to see it. My maiden name is McCullough and my grandfather was from Scotland and Ireland. Keep them coming Dan!!!

  • Aweosome TS,

My great great great was from Scotland as well, wouldnt it be cool if they had YouTube then, we could go look them up and listen to them drone on about it. (Like our descendants will if YouTube is still around)

  • It's sad that so much has been lost because we didn't have the tools (videos) to preserve our ancester's history. I would love to have had my grandparents on video but they passed away long before we had access to a camcorder. But you are right, our lucky decendents will have tons of video history to comb through to learn about their past.

  • Another goody Dan, interesting to see one of our castles over there!:)

  • Ha ha, Well since I couldn't get you to drive 8 hours to Scotland we had to find a little bit of it over here!

Hope you and Dominika are doing well.
