  • All of these floors contain offices.

  • Did you go past the security desk to ride those elevators?

  • Yes, but I didn't get in trouble. Also, at the Texas State Capitol, photography will be no longer allowed, because of increased security following a recent gunman incident.

  • What is on levels "1" & "20" - "22"?

  • Yes, and it would then be the tallest hydraulics in the world. However, it's a good thing that hydraulics can't travel that far.

  • Can you imagine if the HIGH RISE elevators were hydraulic?!??!?

  • That's correct.

  • in malaysia, a normally 17 floor apartment also uses very fast elevator already

  • Yes, I agree, but with offices on 21 & 22, they could have them open access, even if they used tractions for those 2 floors. But it's interesting how there are top drive elevators, and 800 FPM traction elevators are indeed fast.

  • The service elevators are closed access.

  • What about the service elevators?

  • I guess it's because it doesn't serve those floors, but they should go with a single 6-8 car system size serving ALL 22 floors.

  • Why they have to put Express Zone(EZ)

  • Yes, it's rare to see a hydraulic at the top of a high rise building, but the jacks were short distance 3 floors, yet they were lifted by crane, and they're holeless, so there was no problem installing them. However it would have been better to go with traction elevators serving ALL 22 floors, and the speed is around 800 FPM.

  • why no tech specs

  • I already added them to the Lobby elevator video.

  • Wow, 800 FPM! I don't think I've ever been in one past 500 (the Tower ones at Danbury Hospital).

  • Amazing, since 800 FPM is very fast, and they're mainly in high rise buildings with gearless elevators.

  • 800 is indeed very fast. In Asia this speed is common only in Schindler products.

  • how many fpm is it

  • why didnt they get the traction to the 22th floor?

  • Probably for security purposes. Especially if levels 21 and 22 started off not open to the public already. This might even be more sensible than locking out these two floors by default for the tractions serving all levels.

  • highest hydraulic elevators?? That's crazy! I bet they had a VERY VERY LONG hydraulic jacks for it!

  • Technically this is not possible.

  • interesting to see a hydraulic elevator at the top of a high rise building

  • It's not too strange as hydraulics can adopt shaft top drive designs as well.
