  • Probs vest version of Farewell to the fairground, they suit indoor arenas more than stadiums.

  • In White Lies We Trust

  • Hot guy :D. I saw them in summer 2009. They're really good live. Loved the gig!

  • I saw them at the isle of wight 09. They were awesome.

  • The 1st of May 1988 if to be exact :)

• From the Stars

  • From the stars

  • Seeing them in December, wanted to see how they sound live, I'm not disappointed!

  • io a questi ugni darei una lira

  • E perchè scusa?

  • bravo! Invece so pesi

  • wouldnt like to be caught up in that crowd, there going fucking mental!!

  • Come on! Be fair guys! To biggalal1992, WTBRockMusic, yllodnkcor and everyone else that keeps repeating the shit crowd thing, I would say, remember that this is the opening song of a set by a band that wasnt really that well known 10 months ago when this was filmed. This was at least 2 months before the album came out - and 4 months before Fairground was released as a single.

Most of the audience would only have known Unfinished Business and Death. Both of which got a good response BTW.

  • XD, rofl

  • They are insane live, and Harry is perfect.

  • ehh theyre much better on the cd

  • yesyesyes they are amazing:D

  • what a shit crowd!

  • like yeah, man if you don't care I could be the whole crowd myself !!!

  • Yeah. Definitely.

  • great music no performence

  • i agree with you, they are still great though

  • wow, thats pretty good quality with a handheld camera (if im not wrong). or its just a really good camera :D

  • his voice a bit akwared on stage

  • his voice sounds pretty good to me

  • Great preformance, shame about the crowd.

Check out White Lies, Glasgow Barrowland videos to see a proper gig!

  • As I've said before when people have said, "shame about the crowd" etc about my early White Lies clips - you have to remember that this gig was at least 2 months before the album came out - and 4 months before Fairground was released as a single.

Most of the audience would only have known Unfinished Business and Death.

Very few people would have known any the lyrics of Fairground 9 months ago so you can't really blame them for not singing along!

  • yes omg the crowd is like zombies..

  • they're really getting better ( with experience and stuff) :) if you see performances from earlier you can hear it's less good

  • keep on running there no place like home!!

    niceeee!!!!!!!!

    love that song :D

  • Saw them in for a few days ago. Just as a warm-up for Kings of Leon. Its a okay band, and this particulary song is great, but I think they should be careful not to become too mainstream.

  • grandissimi white lies

  • this is alot faster than the normal version, but still excellant!

  • he doesnt sound that good live i think :/ but awsome song though

  • Great song, sounds like the sound the Killers lost, with a touch of Ian Curtis. I like it a lot.

  • i'm goin to see them today :D:D:D

  • LOVE THIS SONG X1000000000000

  • enjoyed them live in Athens. they are doing very fine,

  • Saw them yesterday in athens they were awesome i didn't use to like them but now i really like them!!!they are great band

  • como kisiera verlos en vivo

la presentacion es demasiado buena :)

  • What does E.S.T stand for, any1?

  • electric shock therapy

  • tnxs a mil

  • I wanna see them live their so good :)

  • They're also good when live.

Seriously this tune keeps spinning on my head.

Better get their album soon :)

  • Seems a tad faster than usual.

  • Yeah. Most of the songs are faster live.

I did notice that they seem to be playing From The Stars and E.S.T. at 'album speed' on the recent tour though - certainly slower than in the past. Great songs whatever speed they play them at IMHO.

  • yep totally

  • love this song!!!

  • polles parafonies kanei o typos distyxws..

  • alla to komati gamaei

alloste live einai metraei perisotero to filing para i arthotita tou komatiou

  • yeah it the the same lake joe division, so i prefer mando diao.....

  • You can't really compare them. But Mando Diao is the best in the world!

  • just dont say they're like Joy Division.

White Lies are ok, fairly good songs, especially this one,

Joy Division were Raw and a totally original product, these arent and they're totally manufactured, look up "Fear of Flying

  • Yeah. I think everyone - including the band - is pretty bored with the whole Joy Division comparison. IMHO they are not like JD and are not trying to sound like JD.

But...just because a band changes their name & style doesn't make them 'totally manufactured' - look up Sub Sub.

And while you are at it, DO look up Fear of Flying. They were already performing Farewell to the Fairground a couple of year ago - and it didn't sound THAT different!

  • They are not manufactured at all!

  • farewell to the fairground - tune of the year

  • better than joy division and the killers ..errrr no. but certainly very good :)

  • The killers suck ass..

But these guys rock your arse off! They're the best Brittish product of the last couple of years..

Tho they play the farewell to the fairground a lot faster then on the single/CD.Still great tho!

  • Bleh, Glasvegas are much better than White Lies even though they're great .. actually i just bought albums of both bands today (:

  • better than joy d?Come on!

  • so much better

  • I was there!

they totally rocked that night, was brilliant :)

  • i recently discovered this band , they are amazing!!

  • when i first listened to tis song i thught - pure joy division :) the're totally alike

  • i love joy division, i love the killers, but these guys r way better on my opinion

  • co za nieruchawa publiczność? (kawałek świetny)

  • what a shit crowd

    great song

  • loved it!

  • this band is class but were the fans juppin in song the fans look bord as fuck lol

  • Actually the band got a really good response at this gig, and Harry has said that it was one of his favourite shows so far. You have to remember that this was only their second London headline show - and the venue was 3 times the size of the previous one (ICA). And, of course, this is 2 months before the album came out - a lot of the audience wouldn't know either of these songs yet.

  • joy divison style

..thats what i was thinking too its a cross between the killers and joy divison xd

  • I'm agree

  • its what the killers want to be like, but are failing. they should go back to 'Mr.Brightside' or at 'Least When We Were Young' style.

  • nah, I like everything the Killers have ever done, I don't mind if it's the more retro sound of Mr Brightside or the more mellow sound of Goodnight, Travel Well. The only song I hated with a passion on their most recent album was Joy Ride

  • haha I completely agree with you, especially about Joy Ride.

  • i never cared for mr brightside as much, but the killers rocked their first album. i liked their second too and sawdust was ok but i didnt really like much of Day and Age. Brandon like comepletely changed the way he sang for that album and i didnt like it much

  • brillant

    joy divison style

    amazing !!!

  • Lovveeeeee itt !!!

  • Okay for all you haters out there, if you think they're not a good band, go listen to their cover of Kanye West's Love Lockdown, pointed out in the info, and then come back and say that.

Only a good band could take a song that is soo far outta their genre like that and completely make it their own.

  • They do sound like The Editors, and Franz firdinand, and also a bit like Duran Duran's older stuff.

I don't know what everyone's problem is, i mean they're not teh best band live, but it looks like they put on a good show. I mean take most bands outta the recording studio and they won't sound exactly the same.

I personally think they're amazing, the lead singers voice is soo amazing.

  • It's Ferdinand, not feirdinand

but all very true. They do play the songs faster live, though.

  • they sound a bit like a band... yeah... they remind me of that band with a guitars, vocals and drums.

    very similar.

  • Comment removed

  • they sound nothing like the editors, they sound more like duran duran or something 80s

  • The bands good, whats everyones problem

  • bit like franz ferdinand

  • Thank fuck for Radio1's Switch!

I wouldn't know about this band otherwise.

They're fucking awesome! But they remind me a lot of The Editors.

  • your right! fucksake, i couldn't put my finger on it, they do sound like the editors.

  • i love this song and the band :D there sold out where i am though :( i would love to see them live!

  • They are just like the killers, albeit not anywhere near as good. Where the white boys dance anyone?

  • Nope sorry i just dont see how this is like the killers

  • How can you say this band have nothing original to bring to music?

If you dont like the band or this song, why waste your time writing pointless comments on here?! or arguing that they are 'overhyped charlatans'

clearly you have nothing better to do with your time.

like to see you come up with something better!

  • Someone has to stand up for good music, otherwise people could assume that mindless sheep like yourself actually have good taste.

  • how the hell does this sound like rio?? are you on crack?

  • fuckin awesome!

  • it's called inspiration and no bands would exist without it

  • just heard this song recently and i am hooked on it already!!!

  • i would absolutely love to see them live

    brilliant band

  • just saw them live at bowery ballroom in nyc tonight and they were amazing! highly recommend it

  • Planet Earth rip-off.

  • amazing band and song xD (:

  • Great band, I think Stuart Adamson would of liked this if he was still around today, such a shame

  • Interesting that you say that. Check out my video of White Lies playing E.S.T. at the Komedia, Brighton. Listening to the chorus "I hope you remember me" etc (esp. the second time with Charles' harmony vocal) - always really reminds me of Stuart Adamson.

  • Who is Stuart Adamson?

  • there good but they sound proper like joy division

  • I'm so happy to live in the internet era, so that you can be from Croatia and listen to amazing new bands such as White Lies... LOVE!!!!

  • Wonderful song! Sounds like the bravery a bit

  • keep on runnin keep keep on runnin theres no place like home!!

  • harry sounds amazing in this video! x

  • I wish I could give them more than 5 stars =P They are so good!

  • amazing

  • SeeGigFilmGigPost, lolol great user name!!

  • Thank you!

  • I was at this show - absolutely loved it.

Was slightly disappointed by the album version of this track, as the tempo is quite a lot slower on the studio version, and i love the urgency and rawness of this version in comparison.

They are fantastic live though, i'd thoroughly recommend them to anyone!

  • white lies ftw!! xx

  • I was there down the front, i thought the guy has a great voice, especially as i know people don't like the sound at koko

  • the singer has a very unique voice.

  • wow how good are they!! getting album 2moro!!

  • They opened with it at Manchester absolutely immense tune cant wait for the album, seems a shame that all the Fear Of Flying stuff will be left on the cutting room floor though, they had some top tunes

  • seen these last night and they didnt play this! :(

  • excellent

  • my fav
